Hey fellow morgies I havent been on here as much and I miss you. I am making some progress with my symptoms that I wasn't expecting. I have cut all wheat, rice, potatoes, oats, all grains, refined sugar and starch out of my diet. I am limiting the total number of carbs to 5 tespoons per meal. On this grain free ,sugar free (accept for small and i mean small amounts of fruit and milk) iet the morg symptoms-itching and crawling in particular are way down. My protien consumption is up and I am doing Barleans super great tasting Lemon Omega swirl for fish oil. I am doing this to lose weight (its working). I really am impressed with the reduction in symptoms. In the past I have tried just cutting back on sugar or on sugar and wheat That didnt help my morgie symptoms but the elimination of grain, starch and sugar is paying off big time and I sure didn't expect it. Anyone else find the same thing? I know some people feel morgs likes protein but so far that hasn't been my experience. Namaste, ibzahp

Hi ibzahp, I am doing something similar and have borderline diabetes with my A1C in the high range now so am following Dr. Bernsteins Diet from his book Diabetes Solution. I have a Glucose measuring device and stick my fingers a lot to check my foods to be sure and am on a very similar diet to yours except fruit is not allowed. I will try berries to see if I get a blood sugar raise out of it. Most amazing how I feel. Much better. I do eat more meat now but that is ok and it seems to be working out for me. Morg symtoms, knock on wood, very quiet now too inspite of the higher protein (meat) diet. I don't eat beef at all, but have lamb, chicken, occasional turkey and eggs. I am not so sure about the eggs yet. Not that they effect blood sugar but in other ways that it makes me feel. Thanks for your input and "hello" also to sheredelight. The Teasel sure helped me. I did the Woods Protocol and saved myself huge drug bills and maybe bodily damage. I could never take the Cats Claw for some reason but its highly recommended. Glad you can take it, sheredelight. Great going!

Hi Ibzahp, 22122agin,
Sounds good, what your both doing, sugar and wheat seem to be a big no no, hey. Apparently it feeds the beast. I'm making mango and strawberries ice poles, as i miss ice cream, and chocolate. Not too much fruit as you say, and lots of greens and veggies.
But come Xmas day, and I'm going to indulge, and eat anything i like, till i explode, lol omg.
Just call me biggest piggy...
Bless us all, hugs ...

I ate a whole lot of sugar last week ------------ and now my skin broke out and I have to go thru all this trying to get rid of the break outs.
I am certain that eating store bought cakes that have all those unnatural GMO ingredients and the 'sugars' modified or not were the problem.
No more sugar or High Fructose corn syrup for me.

yeah i must say i am amazed at how the beastly morgellons "crawlies" are greatly diminished by taking sugars, corn syrup, wheat, corn, oats ,barley and rice out of the diet. i would never have figured this out had i not embarked on an atkins type diet. For me it as also been about grain, potatoes, bread, pasta and other hidden carbs and sugars. truly a big difference. I used to really love juice, even when i was not eating sugar and corn syrup. Now without juice my skin is not crawling. it takes a week or two to calm stuff down or at least it has for me. I still have lots of fiber activity on my scalp but i don't itch and experience the crawlies nearly as much. On the GMO stuff i just avoid it because it is poison, same with corn syrup.

Ibsahp, I am glad you are doing better. Thanks so much for the welcome. I have been a bit laid up with a bronchial thing. Seems the whole town of Los Angeles has it young and old. Makes me wonder what they did to us. So much better with low carbs except I am eating too much dairy, me thinks. And yes, juice will really bring on the crawling. Its like a feeding frenzy. Cheese used to do that to me. I know you said small amounts of dairy. I seem to be better with cheese than I used to be. If you get back to this thread, what carbs are you taking as the 5 teaspoons? I can't have fruit so just wondering. A link for sheredelight: A doctor put me on this protocol but the herbs were way too strong for me. Might have killed the Lyme if I could have stayed on it. I lasted one day. tinyurl.com/6nupkogBest to all, 22122
