..seems to be annihilating the local scale bugs. Am seeing a LOT of transparent fibers growing out of scale bugs. Also seeing them filling their egg cases. ...could be a fungal "lookalike" but even at 400x..sure looks like the transparent morg fibers.. tinyurl.com/7phjxz4.

I tend to think those move when removed. Did you see any activity from the fibers pictured? The last one reminds me of when the fake skin/biofilm forms and if it gets pulled away the fibers look like that! I've always thought the white fibers remind me of a spider's webbing. Sometimes single fibers will have branches or another fiber that's smaller stuck to it, though. Enjoying the pics because it gives me confidence that someone is trying to find answers! Thank you!

From appearance alone its a match. Not that many substances are this bright of clear.
