I've spoken to someone at the Carnicom Institute and he tells me they still need volunteers for their study of the Morgellons condition. This is a great opportunity for those in the Morgellons community to assist in moving the research forward. The study cannot be accomplished without the help of those who are afflicted. Here is your chance to make a difference by taking real steps to broaden the knowledge base of this condition, while benefiting from the testing. Participants will receive the results of these tests (although no personal interpretations or recommendations will be given). For more details follow the links below. carnicominstitute.org/html/morgellonsgeneraldescription.htmlcarnicominstitute.org/html/morgellonssubmission.htmlIf I met the criteria for the participants I'd be jumping on this!

Carnicom Institute...What a joke. This is another Profiteer hiding behind 501(c )(3) non profit with a paypal account. Corporation! This is nothing more then a legal way of setting up a scam and protecting oneself from lawsuit. The only institute here is one designed to supplement Clifford’s retirement.

I don't know that I agree with you. Someone from the board of directors spoke with me and they are really trying to get this study going. Obviously, if no one comes forward as volunteers the study will not take place. A real shame in my opinion. How many studies have actually been undertaken on the behalf of the Morgellons community up till now?
I'm wondering if the rest of the Morgellons community feels as you do, Lostinspace, that this is a ploy to get donations?
Anyone care to comment about why they think people are not participating in this study?

Hi, I don't meet the criteria of non-healing sores. I really hope people who qualify will participate in Cliff's research. Ruth

I'm with you bb.
Sorry "Lostintime" about the moniker mixup (you aren't "Lostinspace").
I just don't want people to talk themselves out of participating. Someone I know said, "I don't have lesions," but she has weird rashes with all kinds of emerging artifacts, yet she disqualified herself from contacting them initially. It's better to apply and let them be the one to say you don't fit the criteria.
Initially, I thought that a large population of the possible participants would be turned away because they don't have cameras and can't document their condition but now I'm not so sure. I'm really trying to understand the lack of response. Is it apathy? —Ayla

We will have to agree to disagree. I just call it as I see it. I met Clifford two years ago and have looked at some of his presentations on morgellons. Clifford’s knowledge of morgellons is based on whipping up some petri dishes in his lab…Oh sorry he doesn’t have a lab. I meant his home. He has no medical background that anyone is aware of and is basing much of his claims that chem. trails is the source of morgellons disease. If you wish to send him your money that’s fine but I wouldn’t give him a nickel for his time. The study he wants you to pay for is what morgellons has done to the mind but he holds no degree in mental health. Money given to a non-profit can be used to run a non-profit. It is legal to spend money on things like transportation, utilities, new computers, web fees and even food as long as it is turned into the IRS as such.
hildegarde staninger is another person I have a problem with. The selling of products claiming to benefit people with morgellons is a big no no in my book.
Dr Karjoo also sells a product line of soaps and such claiming to help people with morgellons which is nothing more then fraud Not to mention naming this disease after himself.
Profiteering from peoples suffering is nothing new in this world. I have seen time and time again, new people showing up on the boards directing people to a web site asking for your money or out right selling products.
Most of the people suffering from morgellons have endured great financial losses. Please consider you own financial situation carefully before giving.

The fact is that The Carnicom Institute does need funding to continue the work. Clifford has done a tremendous amount of work studying Morgellons already. He is an independent researcher. The amount of money they hope to raise for this research project is $4,000. In the real world that is paltry sum. You might not respect his research, but others in the community do.
As for being untrained, I do not believe that one needs to go through the "accepted" channels to excel at whatever it is they put their mind to. Morgellons has spurred many a backyard scientist in our community. Need and passion can drive someone to excel in a field just as much as a degree.
The money aside though, their request is for participants to the study. There is no cost to volunteers and that is what they are looking for. Lab work costs money. No one is twisting people's arms to give money.
The Morgellons community has voiced despair that no one is studying the condition and then when someone tries to, they don't participate. I don't really understand that. Again, if I met the criteria, I'd be jumping at the chance to volunteer.
