It distresses me every time that morgellons is referanced to insects --such as insects crawling out of the body---this tangent can really confuse those who are trying to understand the morgellon syndrom.. I have NEVER, in any remote way, made any observance of bugs-flies-etc exiting my body or crawling underneath my skin... I am not saying that such a condition does not exist but in the case of true morgellons syndrom I think not. It is more than likely that they can exist together but one does not cause the other.. IF there were such manifestations don't you think that someone could get good clear photos of the bug rather than UFO fizzy pictures that seldom reveal very much at all. Read the following link--at the bottom last few paragraphs---We would have been much better off if that bit had never been written. Orion, I agree with you on several levels. This webpage is a little outdated and contains snippets of old articles about Morgellons. I blame the original editor of one of the articles, who should have done more research before printing their story.
The insect theory can be harmful to us if not presented in the correct manner. I believe there is an indirect connection, phermonally speaking, but unless a knowledgable medical person is writing about this, I also wish they'd never bring it up ("they", meaning the newspaper reporters). I remember when the one newspaper article came out and it was full of errors because at the last minute, they used an outside source not knowledgable about Morgellons. This is where organization of all information going out would be a very good thing so that we will continue to receive favorable support.
I am certain that they used what information they had in their files, not realizing that it had become so outdated in such a short amount of time.....things have moved swiftly in the last couple months. With the sharp minds of all our LB members, maybe we can help them to update the page in a manner which will be helpful to all.
Thanks Orion.....how you doing down there in God's "other" country? Love you!

The danger of the insect aspect is that some people could sensationalize it - but as long as the fungal aspect is stressed hand-in-hand with insects, most people are intelligent enough to understand that a connection makes sense.
A few months ago there was some discussion here that the insect infestation aspect should not be mentioned. A few of those that suffer from this manifestation were very hurt and felt excluded and posted their feelings and that they felt rejected.
Those that have the insects hatching are suffering a very bad aspect of this - they need so much support and especially to be believed and not rejected.
For clear photos, Orion, see the General section of this message board. Ruth started a thread there and posted photos this week of hatched insects. They are not fuzzy photos.
Because our bodies are stressed out, have immune systems that are weakened, and it is a medical fact that people can have fungus infections in their bodies, I don't think it is unreasonable to discuss insects - or especially to listen to those that are dealing with insects. Even if all we can offer is moral support.
Those that have to deal wiith insects hatching need to be able to talk about it and especially to be believed. For a newbie who has insects hatching, they can find out how to deal with it - or they will know who to PM - or maybe they will just know that they are not alone.
We need to avoid the danger of making people who suffer this feel excluded by making it a taboo topic.

Collembola could be part of the method to rid the waters of cyanobacteria. Does anyone know if they were used or are being used to eath the cyano toxin? I bet they don't like it but like it when it is manufactured through the human body. The scent is there, so they might like it in the better environment, rather than the swamp.

QH This is the key, QH, and you are exactly right.....both of these issues need to be stressed in tandem whenever this particular subject is discussed. We never told anyone they couldn't talk about it and I apologize again if it sounded that way. We just didn't want people to place the main emphasis of this disease's symptoms on that aspect of it, since that is where our skeptics are getting their ammunition to dismiss us. I, of ALL people know exactly what these other folks are going through, believe me when I say this......but we'll just leave it at that for now. Sky, you make a great point and I'm sure that WE make a better environment for so many "things". I just wish we could find a way to dis-attract ourselves, to use a non-word.

Patti,
We need to find a deoderant repellant. Smells good to us, but underneath is a pungent repellant to the bugs.

Thank you for your inclusive attitude on this board. When I was young I spent many summers on my grandpa's farm. Some cows had big welts on their backs where a (Bot?) fly had layed eggs. I was told, eventually the larva would eat out through the skin and fly off. This would ruin the hide if too many were on a cow.
I am greatful I do not, yet, experience this symptom. I do agree we have to get to the root of the problem. However, either we, or the professional researchers will have to sort through many many symptoms, first. Also, root or branch, treating symptoms can also help to relieve immediate suffering

No need to apologize Patti - you are the admin - I just wanted to add some thoughts.
It's the people out there who don't know where to turn as they suffer this alone that matter more. Just one person suffering this alone matters more than ten skeptics.
But to disarm skeptics, any mention of insects should include the fungal / various causes aspect. Any skeptic that can't figure out that insects and fungus can be connected is A) not too bright B) has an agenda/sponsor or C) works at UoG
Best Wishes,
QH

I can assure you that the bug thing angers me more than anybody!! The story that you are referencing to upset my family as much as yours. NOBODY from my family said the word bug or insect to anyone!!! I have NEVER thought it was collembola - even before the controversary --my opinion on the "collembola study" was a big laugh! I personally couldnt beleive those photos were published when mine were so much better!! (ha-ha) I do believe there is an organism with several stages and welcome the oppertunity to discuss and debate that theory but please know that my family was misrepresented in that story and that is such a tragedy for all of us who are still suffering. Yes Anne, I remember it well and I still get so angry every time I think about it......I can only imagine how it affects you. I will never forget how they changed at the last minute and betrayed all of us but especially you and your family.
Hopefully we can get Jeff to revise his page, as I'm sure he is not aware of what happened behind the scenes for one of those articles. He is just taking info from the various ones available to him and hoping to help our cause.
I hope you are getting along okay, Anne.....please know that our prayers are still with you. We march onward due to the courage of Tom, you, and your family, as well as others who have undergone great tragedies that most likely could have been avoided. We do this in honor of you all. God bless!
Hugs, Patti

I wish to clarify my stance--no doubt that insects can lay eggs and hatch out of the hide-skin-of many animals---as for fungi--definately but not to confuse fungi with arthropods--apples-oranges.. I have every reason to believe that I was infected by an insect bite-----to further the cause <snip> //////////////Dangerous Bacteria Evolving in Insects 29-Oct-2004 Scientists have evidence that bacteria dangerous to humans have begun evolving in insects, for reasons that are not clear. The October edition of Nature Reviews: Microbiology reports that invertebrates such as worms and insects may have begun enabling a rapid evolution for bacteria normally not harmful to humans. Not only are insects capable of delivering disease through bites and stings, they now may be the breeding ground for strains of infectious bacteria never before seen in humans. A group of English physicians led by Dr. Nick Waterfield of the University of Bath has already found an unusual new bacterium causing oozing sores on its victims. They believe the new bacterium may have evolved from one which previously only affected insects via the //////// nematode worm.///////// This new strain has infected approximately a dozen Americans and Australians so far. "Understanding the mechanism that the bacteria use to change their disease-causing ability is important if we are to successfully treat emerging infectious diseases before they get out of control and become epidemics," says Dr. Waterfield. ----"The species of bacteria may have been around for centuries, but it is just that a new strain evolves that is suddenly able to infect humans as well as other animals," Waterfield said. >I was around livestalk--horses-cattle. questionhair??? . . . snipped . . . >I was around livestalk--horses-cattle. questionhair??? I have an appointment with my PCP tomorrow--I have chosen to hold off confronting her with the morgellons bit as I felt that she wa not ready for it---now I'm loaded for bear---got all my ducks in a row--let the games begin. I have the photo site of this board and DVD of same--+ the moveing danceing fibers as well. A moment of truth has arrived--- Yes, I've been around horses but not cattle (unless chasing my neighbors' cows around the neighborhood counts.) About your PCP, don't expect an instant conversion to a different point of view. It's not likely to be an evangelical moment with an altar call response. But, if she reads and researches the information you've provided, you might get some interest. Depends on how much she listens to her patients and cares enough to do some looking into stuff I guess. People are like horses, when they feel something pulling them one way, they naturally resist against the pulling. I just lightly let them know where the lead is, and we walk together with dignity. Good Luck and Best Wishes, QH

Well Orion, My theroey is that the Morg attracts other parrasites. I have personally whatched a fly hatch and fly out of my leg and watched a white furry bug eat its way into my heal, I watched it for 5 mins. disbeleaving then I went down to touch it. Bad mistake it burowed in like I was butter. It took me 6 months to kill it. DMSO and every thing else. I have personaly pulled over 10 ID"ED collembola over veriouse parts of my body. My last lab results were 10 collembolla, 5 fly larva, and the rest unable to ID. Out of at least 70 samples. New Bug people. H.

We all have fibers--etc=====or defined as morgellons, some have this manifestation others some other presentation..we can not define it down to say morgellons is caused by this or that---this is what I see--That is what you see--but we all see fibers, right? SOO, I ask, why are the fibers created by so many different things? It is only logical to state that morgellons syndrom is caused by one thing that we all share in common..or a body condition we all share in common...You don't supose that a toxic condition in our bodies has set us up to be vectored by so many organisms...There sure as the dickens is a common denominator---what might that be? Any takers on this one? Orion-inski

Insects are one of the vectors that carry either the parasite that carries the complex that makes these fibers or the insect carries the complex without the parasite.
In a weaken immune system and one that is putting out scents to attract insects one can have an insect infestation.
Are insects the primary cause of this illness no.
Are collembola involved in either carrying this complex or a seconday infection sure. Is it stupid to point to collembola as the source of this illness absolutely. We really lose credibility when we point to the insect thing. It is important in the right context. Does this complex have insect genes in it as per TAM TAM's view maybe so will insect parts come out of the body maybe. I would go back to the virusl/bacteria/parasite idea for the primary. The fungus overgrowth comes in when the immune system is weakend by biotoxins and infection. accudoc

the media is probably not helping when they use that dramatic intro.. "people report as if bugs are crawling all over their body.." or something like that, but they are just sensationalizing to see if they can get the viewers. The media has done a great job though, in making the DoP doc's look like a horses back end every time they do the little "and the counter argument is" part of their show. Over all things are really looking up! I know the diagnosis can cause problems with your non-believing family and they can try to use it in court in child custody and stuff like that, but for the most part, most of us, need to just treat it as what it is, nothing. Don't waste your precious energy on the anger. Really. Treat this matter-of-factly and them as the ignorant population they are. ooooow! they will just hate it when you don't act out! The doctors and the CDC, and everyone along the path, FAILS in their fiduciary responsibility when they do not properly investigate. As has been said, this is a diagnosis of exclusion, their using this as a pat answer to make the day go by faster, or as in the case of the CDC, to control a budget, or to buy time, is a serious matter. The CDC failed to protect the public, after many communications and notices. The doctors maybe could only do what is within their bounds, but the mistake of jumping to a conclusion of DoP, without proper investigation is both a failure of fiduciary responsibility and their "due diligence". The CDC is charged with protecting the health of the public, as are the state health departments, etc. These people have not done their "due diligence". They have failed in their fiduciary responsibility, and this is a serious, serious failure on their parts. Watch what they have done, eventually work in our favor. Just watch. spec PS. One personal example I have of their knowledge of professional failure, is one who attempted to snake out of it. HOW? You ask? She threw me out of the office, after examining and making some sappy face at me and saying.. that "i needed to see a psychiatrist" To which I stonily stared into her pouty face and said, "She sent me here to you". She returned my check (refusing to accept me as a patient, in order to avoid and duck complications) and never billed the insurance. See how savvy? She knows that if i am a "patient" of hers, she can hang herself. Another doctor mentioned, if "he agreed to treat me" again what strange wording, don't you think? They know the risks of suit. Yes they do.

right click on your spell check button click on property's copy that url and paste it in your allowed list on your fire wall or your pop-up blocker on your browser-- see if that works I don't know what else to tell you all systems are go and working properly as far as the Lymebusters website is concerned
