You must be referring to Travis Wilson.I know its so sad. Since Texas is hit hard with this it probably reached alot more people not knowing they even have Morgellons in Dallas :-*Frisk

To bad the story included a quote from that idiot dermatologist, Dr Dan Eisen at UC Davis.

This article appears to be the original. I received a longer version evidently appearing on dallasobserver.com (from original article in Dallas Observer 7-20-06). Jesse Hyde "The Plague"
In the version I received there are pictures medical professionals handling Morgellons. It is a longer version with more editorial comments pontificating and theorizing as to the psychological components being the underlying problem.
Frankly, I didn't know the world had so many ignorant and shallow people. How dare these free lance writers and editors in charge mingle incorrect and slanderous statements with factual stories.
This statement from the longer version particularly caught my eye: "No one disputes the link between mental illness and Morgellons."
First of all, this is a lie. I am "someone", and I very much "dispute" any such nonsense. The mere fact that I am"someone" and I "dispute" makes the words a LIE. I'll bet there are several others willing to call this statement what it is-propaganda and untruthful.
Continuing with the quote- "No one disputes the link between mental illness and Morgellons. The question is which comes first. Morgellons suffers, or Morgies insist the the horrific symptoms of the disease bring on delusions and obsessive-compulsive behavior. Detractors say it's the other way around."
Wrong again- I, for one, have never said that" horrific symptoms of the disease bring on delusions and obsessive-compulsive behavior." (4000 suffers -1= 3,999 approximately left to ask if this is true for them. ) I'll bet the majority of 3,999 (approx.) would not say or agree that their suffering of symptoms brings on" delusional behavior" or "obsessive-compulsive behavior", for that matter.
To make untrue statements and print them as factual statements is definitely a breech of journalism ethics. I believe this author of the article should be contacted regarding her lack of diligence in research and allowing mis truths to mingle in with other uncontested facts. ( I don't know if I have the energy to contact the writer or editor; this not one of my better feeling days.) I do think we can't keep letting this sort of thing form public opinion. For all I know, someone has encouraged her to come up with an "acceptable version" that fits in with the propaganda being published on websites dedicated to "keeping an eye on our business".
Which brings me to this quote from the same article: "One of the most popular Web sites on the disease is Morgellons Watch, a blog dedicated to poking holes in every known theory on the disease. (Gee, did she refer to this as a disease? hmmm) The blog operator would only agree to an interview via e-mail and would only identify himself as Michael from Los Angeles. (The writer has information that leads her to suspect --not know, just suspect-- that Michael is a dermatologist. Michael describes his interest in Morgellons as a HOBBY, nothing more. (CAN YOU IMAGINE THE TYPE OF HUMAN BEING THAT TAUNTS AFFLICTED PEOPLE AND CONSIDERS IT A HOBBY?) Of course, he could be on someone's payroll and then his "hobby" would make more sense.
In conclusion, it may be time to form an action sub group that responds to correct harmful portions of disinformation seeping into media through ignorance or deliberate design. Betsy
P.S. Much of this longer article was satisfactory. I am focusing on the portion that is the most objectional to me. There were other objections, but this caught my attention.

The article is confusing because at the bottom of the first page they ask for comments, implying it's over yet there are five more pages to read. If y ou click on Show All, it will give the rest of the article Betsy was talking about. And I cannot imagine why some unknown person whose not even a sufferer was interviewed for this, someone who had dedicated his time to not only rebuking all that we endure but also allows others with hatred in their souls to come on and lie about people. I think everyone should write the newspaper, I'm told they will write you back requesting your permission to post your letter and the more that get posted th e better. It's time we took our disease back from this troublemaker who is reaping fame from our infected coat-tails.

Betsy " Yeah yeah! let's nominate a few people for this counter debate team.. now if I can remember for a minute.. just kidding! hmm..Some though do still have their intellect intact.. Nominate Linda and Jimbo to tear 'em up. Let's see who else would want a piece of their trousers? spec
