When I was at my sickest, I began doing sudoku and kakuro. I think this helped keep my brain and attention in check. I began to feel more focus and clarity. It also helps releive stress: for several months, I was obligated to devote all of my energy to cleaning, bathing, medicating, laundry, doctors, hospitals, diet. This sucks. You feel terrible. Sudoku and Kakuro are a great solution because the world of numbers is far removed from disease. It numbs the stress. So I recommend it! For your kids too. Good for keeping the brain moving.

Sounds like a good idea. Anything that lifts your mind and takes your focus elsewhere. One of my friends had a stroke recently and suffered slight brain damage. One of her best therapies has been knitting - she started with scarves and plain stitches but is gradually building up to undertake more complicated patterns. Just as you say - she talks about increased clarity and focus plus the relief of stress.

Hi Tokyo~~
I know what Sudoku is. I bought a book of it for a present for my teaching companion (she teaches math and is Japanese American). But, what is the other you talked about?
I am teaching myself how to play the cello, and learning to create Web pages with DreamWeaver -- and, your right, my brain is better for it.

Abundant sudoku, kakuro, and instructions available online! Much easier than finding info about microbio nano pathogens, in fact. You can pick up books at Walmart or the bookstore.
