I had Hep C in 1979. For about a month. at the time, they called it non-a, non-B, but now they tell me it was C.
No longer test positive for it, but had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome since 1988.

My drs. are always freaking out because I test positive for Hep c. I had gone to another dr. after my first diagnosis for a 2nd opinion. I went in to start therapy, the nasty kind, as dr. 2 said I needed the treatment. Many tears, & fears, & why me, how come?Prior to my appointment I started taking mega doses of milk thistle, & the day I went in the dr. couldn't believe it. I was well. I have to calm each dr. I go to now that my liver count goes up, & down, & that I'm OK. This was all prior to finding out I had FMS, & CFIDS/ME. freaky ha ha xoxo
Why did your friend want to know this info.?

i always have and continue to test negative for hep c. but in Y2001 i tested positive as having chronic hepatitis B. the doctor said it look like it was drug induced due to some natural steroid i was taking at the time. i had an autoimmune response and my body attacked my liver. i was a carrier of HBV, and it was supposed to be a condition that i would always have. but, six months ago as my doctor read off the blood panel results he did the usual, hep a -neg, hep c -neg, but he said hep b =neg. i stopped him to remind him of my status. he checked my prior results and verified that i was hep b poz. he ran subsequent tests and i came up hep b neg. i continue to test hep b negative to this day. i wonder it this thing can cause false positive reactions. i've been on again off again positive for rheumatoid arthritus, lupus, lyme disease, and most recently pancreatitus. the enxzymes for my pancreas continue to come back very high, but when my blood is retested, the results are normal. this has been consistent with my last 6 blood draws. i've also been chasing severe lower stomach to pelvic groin pain with ultrasounds and ct scans. the urologist can feel lumps and see the imflammation in my skin, but nothing shows on ct scans, pelvic ultrasounds and colonoscopy. i don't know why i would think that this is anything else but -THIS. two weeks ago i had an ultrasound colonoscopy (?) and the dr was talking to me as he was exploring. he found a 'mass' of something but could not refer to it as anything but unknown cyst. i asked him if he saw anything that look like fibres. he said no - i didn't tell him why i asked. he went to look at it again and he couldn't find it. i asked him if cysts move and he just said no. he just said no - no explanation. he is puzzled. next step is to have a cytoscopy (?) yikes, a camera on a catheter. i am serously thinking about cancelling because i know it will come back normal. i don't think that procedure is one i want to endure for no answers. there is no camera small enough not to hurt! where is one of those nanocreatures when you need them? i wonder how many problems are actually due to THIS thing that we never even know. if things can apparently work their way out of me, i have to think the parasites must wreak havoc with the internal organs too i know it is certainly trashing my outsides

Lydski, Anytime in life, and thank you all for replying.
Ivanhole,
I'm sure sorry about all the pain you're going though, and all the tests. I wonder what "they" do when they can't identify those cysts (if they're really abnormal, meaning not the normal looking cysts) if they'll persue on the examination to identify something that's "not the norm"...and I know what you mean by not saying what you meant about asking of "fibers".
I've talked to a few people that have had "things and parts" removed, and the docs couldn't really identify what the findings were, and maybe if there's a way for that "finding" to be persued, I wonder if you can ask about that, and even tell them "alittle" maybe that other people you've spoken with have had findings of unknown "identities" ...gosh I don't know. But I sure feel for you, knowing that going through so many tests and 'them' not having a cure or even an idea what it is. I can understand not wanting to go ahead with "scopes" unecessarily.
I have a friend in constant pain with her stomach, had it checked every which way, and they still find nothing. She can't eat anything without it kicking up in pain. Even the smallest amounts of food trigger the stomach pain attack.
Do you find that happening also? No matter what you eat, pain follows?
Maybe too...and I'm sure not trying to get into your business...just trying to help with an " idea " but "if" this doc can't figure out what the lumps are by all the tests...who can he maybe refer you to that can, cause that's awful, I'm very sorry.

Ivanhole, You mention about the having Hep B, and being a carrier, I found this article due to the fact am searching about pancreatitis, which causes serve pain under ribs, and this new Hep C that cannot be identified. Here is one article, still looking for the breakdown of the HCV though: jvi.asm.org/cgi/content/full/78/13/6875#R22www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?artid=446128content.febsjournal.org/cgi/content/full/273/17/3871#SEC7There is more on this hepatocyte that cannot be tested by current Hep tests. Will look more into that. Skytroll What I am wondering is the carrier status of some diseases being activated. If one is carrier of something that is inactive, that person should not get the disease, but, if activated will. Junk DNA was put in that category, I believe. But, back to the Hep C unidentified note this article and did find a connect to S. Mansoni.
