I don,t know if I'm the only one to do this but I latch on to any change in my body as a potentional clue. I'm at that lovelyage of 50 and have to remind myself that some changes are just plain aging but some of them are too strange to write off. I have gotten fever blisters(some call them cold sores) all my life. I usually got them when I had bad colds, the flu, sometimes from too much sun, and occasionally from prolonged stress. I would get one on my lips that lasted 4-10 days. What I find weird is I have not had one since I became noticeably and undeniably really sick with this(known as the "brazen as* uglies" in this house!)-I can,t make sense out of the fact that for over 2 yrs while being the sickest of my life I have not had one. That in itself kept me wondering but yesterday I got a tiny one and was convincing myself that it was a good sign that things were getting back to normal(I think I'm herxing from meds I'm on but not sure) but within 3 hrs it was gone. Vanished without so much as a trace. Nope-can't write it off. It's too uncharacteristic of how mine always were. It IS a virus(there are multiple types-mine was the simplex-1 I think(didnt have the genital one) so its not too far-fetched to suspect somethings up-don't you think?

From what I know about the virus, its in me for life and lays dorment unless triggered by something. I cant help thinking that something has infected it-kind of kidnapped it!! I never took it but know theres a med to help keep it surpressed. I wonder if anything would happen if I tried it?

I would have never thought about that. But since you mentioned it, I also use to get the fever blisters quite often and like you said from the sun, etc.. AND I'v not had one either, it's been so long that I forgot the last time, but was before morgs.

We have been talking about this alot lately...as sick as we are...we don't really get the good old fashion colds anymore..you know where you feel week and feverish and then get a really bad sore throat with cough and stiffed up nose to foolw...now granted we have many syptoms that relate to these but I'm talking about the good old fashion cold or flu that would develop in that sequence...you know back in the good ole days of normal zits and bad hair days.

Imagine a child who has never had a cold, fever, the hershey squirts, or constipated, the flu, a head ache, a tummy ache, runny nose, pink eye, sore throat, or any of the childhood illnesses we all had the pleasure of having.
Now I would like to introduce you all to Holly, my 2 and a half year old.
It's just too damn scary, it worries me to no end. Just not normal!

she was jaundiced when she was born though.
many Morgellons infected moms report that, is that a coincidence?

Stanninger said my jaundiced (yellowish) rash may be from my body expelling sulphuric toxins.

Hey Vivibelle,
The same thing happened to ME all my life. Sometimes a couple of months would pass, but not many, & I'd have a cold sore. I used to take Valtrex on a daily basis. When I got morgellons, they disappeared from my life. I think there is really something to this, as it is quite odd.

I know Alex gathered info to look for commonalities but maybe it coulb be updated. After your responses it seems like there has to be a relation.

There was a period in my life, probably 5 years in a row that I didn't so much has have a cold, flu, nothing, however, I was terribly ill with lyme and felt like death, however, everyone around me, coworkers and family would get sick as normal, not me though. The body is in high gear to fight, however, it doesn't recognize lyme or morgs most of the time, but is hyped up for attack for things like that.

Come to think of it, I haven't been sick from anything, except my diseases, for over 8 years. I have no snot. My nose would drip, but I haven't had a good normal blow for over 8 years. I have no saliva. I took the test for hormones where you saturate a firm piece of cotton that you place in your mouth. I had to take the test twice because there was not enough saliva on the cotton. It was miserable for me. I sucked, & sucked for hours, & just barely got it wet. See Jane Crawl is the only person I know who drools, & that's just because she won't stop dancing. (ha ha) (J.K.)
Has the thought whether you all have ample spit ever crossed your minds? Food for thought regarding depletion of body fluids. Top that off with depletion of sexual hormones, necessary for arousal, & climax. If this is not your experience as well, it may be related to my having fms, & cfids also. I have a great stud, so it is only my illness that causes havoc in my life.

Kill the Beast, hugs, freaky RE: this often mentioned topic that "we" don't get colds or flu like we used to, I read this: www.truthinlabeling.org/NAET.html" . . . many MSG-sensitive people report that when exposed to the flu or a cold, they don't get sick even though other family members do -- suggesting that they have strong immune systems. In conversation, one researcher hypothesized that MSG-sensitive people who have immune systems strong enough to fight off a virus or bacteria might have hypersensitive immune systems, i.e., that they would identify and react to a toxin (like MSG) before others with weaker immune systems do. For people with hypersensitive immune systems, a reaction to a toxin like MSG would be a warning against using that toxin. The immune system could not, however, deal with a toxin as it might deal with a virus or bacteria. . . ." Interesting comments about the immune response to a toxin (doesn't have to be MSG to apply)

Well think about it. Don't parasites eat bacteria and I presume viruses also from their host (and fungi).
Maybe they are eating us healthy and we will live to be 200 years old and barely aged.
