Judy is on the street and needs help ASAP - although she is hesitant to accept money. If you are in a postition to help, you can now. I thought that it was appropriate to start a new thread on this topic for all the people who have not read the post on feeling the need to apologize - which does not indicate that someone is in real need right now. If you go to any local Western Union - you only need to specify that the money go to Judy D. Ballo in Phoenix, Arizona. She can pick it up at any Phoenix Western Union branch. She is an absolutely lovely person and really deserves help. Hope you don't mind us changing your title Liatris. Thank you so much for starting up this thread!
To everyone - Judy's story is also discussed here:

Hi Coz - Judy would have gotten the message from Jane because Jane posted stating that she had left Judy a message on her cell phone to call her. So there are two reasons Judy would know.
ALL - I was going to suggest that anyone who felt to call her, should BUT she may not be getting enough sleep and if she is able to catch a nap during the day (not in the alley - too noisey), it would probably best not to wake her up. I dunno, just a thought. But she did appreciate the contact/communication by phone.
She is so amazingly light-hearted - considering what it going on for her right now. Boy, talk about "Radical Acceptance". I think about my whining, whinging, forever complaining jerk of a husband who has no skin problems, no pain, no health problems, he has his sight and hearing, he can walk down gorgeous country roads and enjoy his life if he wants to and all he does is give me unbelievable grief and tell me how I ruin his life with my illness. Sorry, a bit of a rant - but what a difference there is between the two of them. I told him about her and he still cannot appreciate what he has.
Judy is truly an inspiration.

Apparently we won't be able to hear back from Judy now until Monday but hopefully we can stay in contact with her by phone.
Western Union has a next-day service in some areas but each of us would have to check for availability where we live by calling 1-800-325-6000. There is also an area on their website to find the closest Western Union to a specific street address (i.e., Judy's alley right now) so that would be the first step.
If anyone has any information on her personal situation such as family members and where they live, please contact us and we would be more than happy to take care of that part.
Until Judy gets her check, she could also go to the closest church and ask for help....I have never heard of them turning away people in her situation, or at least finding help for them temporarily. Also, if she would happen to be a veteran or was married to one or is a descendant of one, the local American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will always help people.
Judy, when you do read this, here is a number you can call right now to receive immediate help: (602) 263-8900 or 1-800-799-7739.....it is the AZ Community Services Division for homeless people. From what I was told, they will not require medical clearance from you and can get you food and shelter until you decide what to do.
Also, here are some of the shelter locations in the Phoenix area where you can call and get immediate assistance:
Central Phoenix 1250 S. Seventh Ave. 602-534-1250 Sky Harbor 1818 S. 16th St. 602-495-5193
West Phoenix 3454 N. 51st Ave. 602-262-6510
Travis L. Williams location 4732 S. Central Ave. 602-534-4732 Sunnyslope 914 W. Hatcher Road 602-495-5229
This is just to get you into a warm bed with food while the rest of us work on getting more help to you. Please continue to check in and let us know how and where you are. We care very much and you will never have to feel alone again.
Everyone, please keep us updated as you get new information. Together we can help Judy with her temporary needs and eventually, maybe we could also help with getting her out of the heat before summer really hits. Thanks to everyone for your kind and generous hearts!

Patti -
Great info.
I am not sure if I understood you correctly when you mentioned finding the nearest Western Union to a certain street address (ie, Judy's Alley) - from what Judy told me (and I assume she looked into it) we do not need to know the Western Union nearest to her. All that we need to do it give her name (Judy D. Ballo) and then state that she is in Phoenix and she can pick up the money from any branch in Phoenix. I got the impression that she knew where one near her was. Just wanted to clarify that no one needs to know exactly where she is to send money. Maybe you understood the above and I misunderstood what you meant.

I was merely presenting that as an option since the question was asked of me several times. The main objective is to help Judy as much as we can.

It was very easy to do the Western Union, called the number Patti provided (thanks sweetie) and I used my credit card. They give a control # to pass on to Judy. If sending cash you can go to a western union near you, they are everywhere. Love to all, SueLinMD

I just went to westernunion.com. Anyone who is going to use a credit card can do a wire transfer ONLINE !!! Just use the info ( exact name and state ) that Liatris posted above.

Clarification: Sending money to a specific bank location costs less, thus giving us the opportunity to send her more. In pricing the Western Union process, they can charge up to double the amount as their fee......we would rather see Jude get that money.

(( IMPORTANT INFO WESTERN UNION )) Judy must have the persons name and a transaction # for each wire transfer. Her cell phone # is 602-718-2390 ALSO... Western Union will ONLY allow 3 pick ups PER WEEK . I think it might be not good to send an amount like 5.00 at this moment.( NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE W/a 5.00 donation)
SeeJaneCrawl has gone above and beyond the call of duty. She has rented a hotel for 2 nights for Judy.

Isn't there something else us poor people can do? This makes me crazy sad and crazy mad. What happened with the thoughts with Sunnyland when we were dealing with Psychologist? I had a hundred at that time...now I've got a hundred pennies . There's got to be something us Morggies can do for each other. What about the "professionals" that know we have this nightmare and how debilitating it is. How easy is if for us to get SSI? I know I need to think more about applying for SSI even though sometimes I'm full of vinegar sometimes I feel like I am straight dying. I appreciate so much to see you guys being so supportive. I love ya'll...anyone talking to HeyJewde, please, please, please send my love, love, love and sorries. Sorry about her kitty too...oh so sad, breaks my heart.

I hear ya on that one Carrie. I planned to send all I had left in the bank (since the 3rd is right around the corner) but found out later that it would cost that same amount for processing fees....had to cancel my transaction. If I had the extra twenty, I'd rather give it to Judy than Western Union. This is why I wanted a location so I could explore other ways of sending her money. But please don't feel bad about not having anything to send. The tenacity of you and many others where research is concerned WILL benefit Heyjewde as well as the rest of us and that is where your strengths lie. We all do what we can and I guarantee you are doing more than your share. Thank you for that!

Is there a church nearby? What about the Salvation Army, she goes there on Thursdays?
If we can find their location?
