Tony here from California, my other half has been almost constantly been on my case about looking for a New job since I was laid off, from an IT Asst. positon at this Law Firm I used to work for, in the beginning of May. Now, I've been - ooops, bugs in th' eyes - grrr...anyways, like I was sayin, I have been on UnEmployment for 3 months now, I don't even have a car to get the positions I do want(hahaha)....but in any case, to get to the point of it all....I want to know how people will react to me when I get a job, and then people start getting sick. Should I still work with people? ? This kinda scares the hell outta me, and don't know what to do. Would I get blamed, would people here hate me for spreading the disease, I mean, I can't live on UnEmployment forever!!! Please advise!!! ANYTHING - ANYONE has to offer in response would be Very much appreciated - I'm so scared, more for others' than myself so much, as I have a blood disease, for which I have been diagnosed, but can't get started on any meds, only for the fact that I simply cannot afford them. I know I won't die tomorrow or anything, only because C isn't really a biggie for me right now, and the Doc's that did the testing while I had the insurance, said I would be fine for a while, but would be better off gettin on th' meds so as to reverse the hep to nothing even showing on the tests. So, I have no doctor, no insurance to pay for them to test my skin, nothing to pay for anything (Thank God for AJ!!! - or I'd be homeless too!!!). So, my question to you fellow sufferers, what should I do? Please Advise me the best you can, and Thank You all for your support through these hard times!!! - TonyM.

This is just my OPINION. I believe everyone is exposed to this "stuff". Why some suffer worse than others is a mystery. I would try to live your life as normal as possible. I did stop working in the church nursery when this started for me. You have to do what you feel is right....what you are comfortable with. The family members that I have hugged and interacted with over the years have shown no signs of this disease. The ones I live with are minimal compared to mine. This disease has stolen so much from us as it is....if you feel well enough to work, I think you should. This is still an unknown affliction and I don't think we should cause more stress to our lives until we know what we are dealing with. I know many are not going to agree with me, so I'm ready for the backlash. Maybe you can get info on help with your meds from one of these sites? www.needymeds.comwww.helpingpatients.orgwww.themedicineprogram.comwww.rxassist.org

Lisa, Thank you for your input, as it is greatly helpful. I have probably given this "stuff" to so many people over the years, I can only imagine. Sorry, I just guess I keep slipping into yet another day of depression, it's worse than watching as the world turns or something. he he he. JodyAnn52, Actually, there is a spot that is free, and there pretty much are no free one's left in CA, but it's far, kinda...gonna see if the roomie can give me a ride one of these days soon. I don't know if they have the Meds I need, but will find out - good call

Tony - I still hug my family members and no-one has caught this from me. I keep the hugs short, but they know I am desperate to hug them and also that I need to be touched (don't we all!!!) So far, everybody is fine, including my 91 year old mother! Jane

I've been working since this madness started, I took a few days off in the beginning thinking I could get rid of what ever this is; but 4-5 months later, here I am but not as bad as before, allot better actually. My co-workers would look at me strange everytime I would vaccuum and wipe down my area but I do what I have to do, screw what anyone else percieves of me, someone of them scratch a little too much of you ask me but apparently they are fine... If anything I think it slowly develops over a couple of years or attacks those with either the yeast or bacteria infections. It also doesnt help that the owner of this company has two wire haired schnowzers that roam the building on occasion. Everytime them dogs are here I feel it even worse.
Good luck dude, keep keeping on!

Jane, Yeah, it hard to hung anyone for me, I feel like I have to tell them ahead of time and follow with "I wouldn't hug me if I were you". ;D JLR, Thanks for that, it made me feel alot better!! Man, I really wasn't sure "how to act" with this around people, 'cause I'll be standing somewhere, and all of a sudden, like 100-200 (seems like) start what I call an 'Invaders Session'... they start piling up in my nose so bad, i actually cannot breath through my nose. So I blow em out the nose, they flicker and scamper to get back in, and the more I try, the faster they react, but I can still beat em to the punch, at least until the air runs out in the lungs. LOL!! But then again, when the roomie gets home every day, or get into the car, BAM!!! The funny thing was like a month and a half ago, I just stepped into an office - for an interview rite - hahaha, the secretary, I could swear, looked up and me, asked who I was, and why I was there - so I told her(LOLOL)...the freaky part was that when I actually opened my mouth, a whole bunch of em came out and some went into my left ear, and the rest to the top of my head. HAHAHAHA!!!!! I just kept looking at her straight forward, and she had the most ungodly look on her face, and can you imagine what's goin on in My mind rite at that moment, "PLEASE don't say anything..please please, I need this job!!" But, while she stared at the things movin around, LMAO, she was like "OKaaayyy, well, have a seat, and I'll see if Mike is available, ok." ThaT was worse than tryin to explain this to my family even.....hahaha!!! Needless to say, they came to me with some excuse like "I think he decided to go with someone more qualified and lives closer too, just in case they call in the early morning" or something like that, ohh well.......Thanks Again for that JLR!!! JodyAnn, I am looking at the site rite NoW.....Thank you so much for your help, I sure wouldn't have known where to look for that....and I'm computer guy too, hehehe. I will have to call my old Doc to see what I need 1st, and I'll call these people you referred me to. I sure hope they can help me. God knows, we all need all the help we can get!! Again, Thanks JodyAnn!!!

I have been working public transportation for 18 years. Dont know if this started 10 years ago or 4. Now that I know there are definite shapes to the "leavings" from this stuff, I see it all over. In restrooms, in our breakrooms, on the buses....driver area and passenger area. I felt bad until I realized that their are probably a lot of other people with this and dont even know it. Even my boyfriend though he wont admit it. Who knows...I may have picked it up from a passenger or just from riding the bus. We have to live (as well as we can with this) we have to support our families, keep food on the table and a roof over our head. Besides, how else are we going to pay all the doctor bills? O.o`

Phaerli,
I just emailed the info on Hope's good news from Jul26th, about the 2 meds she's taking for a little while now, and the fact they DO actually jump, like I've been telling my other half for at least 2 years now, HAHAHA!!! YAY!! I AM not crazy, I AM rite!!!!!! Just to hear someone else say it was a Godsend. Yeah, I JuSt got the reply for that email that read:
Ok thanks and good luck on your JOB SEARCH......better get on it dear so you have something to fillin the EDD. Ok gonna go to lunch soon:P
Hehehe, isn't that funny, how much ya wanna bet he doesn't even read it, since he still refuses to admit he has it too. I even told him they like plants, we have 2, a smaller Money Tree, and this other one that I keep tellin him that the plant is being taken over by them, so what does he do? He waters the plant and puts it in the tub over night, hahahaha!!!
I will look for a job when I'm ready to work, and I'm not even metally good to work at some place right now, he just doesn't get it.

HI! i do know where you are coming from--I have a family three boys 17,14 and 8. Oh and of course my husband of 18 years. I seem to be the only one that has it and I have it really really bad! I wake up in the middle of the night with pains in my eyes and ears and the bugs are all over me. The bugstards wont leave me alone. Anyways My husband lost his great paying job back in July 2004 he got a new job but paying less then half to top it off no insurance coverage!and we still haven't recovered from that . I started my own business with cleaning newly constructed homes (bought all my supplies) and then I got this! We have been living in our house for about five years and now we are losing it, I am having too much trouble with these. Everything in my house is going to be turned off and I dont know what to do. (let alone go and pay for a doctor). I know that they have free hospitals out here but I went and they wanted to put me away-thinking I was crazy. I can handle this at all. I guess that I am a very weak person.Hopefully something good will come out of this disease and it will make me a stronger person and a more spiritual one. Because MAN! I need the LORD in a bad way!~ So yes I feel for you . And if I find any information that I can send to you I will do so ASAP! Also I wanted to say thank you to everyone that has been writing-- I need this
God Bless. Mary

Mary,
Man, I/we don't have children, but I can only imagine the crazyness of running a home, trying to keep it, and still be strong enough to deal with this disease. I applaud you, I Really DO!!! Now, granted I am a guy, I did come from a family of 6 kids, me being 2nd oldest...so yeah, I can understand at least a little on the home part of things. I would have to say you need to stay as focused as possible. As for at night, try using a face mask, they were so bad one night I literally had to resort to that. Only because the Mentholatum I was using for the nose and around the mouth did not work for very long, and actually made them mad. I can say, this house I one GIANT sample!!!! I recently started getting the pains as well, my elbos, arms, wrists, knees, and sometimes, for two to three days at a time - pain in my upper back - and it feels like it's the bones themselves aching. In any case, I hope I've helped you at least a little even.
You, and anyone that wants to can email me here: tonym30_03@lycos.com
I check it Daily, and may be faster than here, and noone emails me here ever(hehe).
