Ewe...it does look like a flea. I know they lay eggs in the carpet, do they lay eggs in the the host tissue? They must...ugh...never thought of that!
Hey ya'll with animals with fleas, you know they carry tapeworm infective stages right?

A little off-topic (here I'm hijacking my own post)... but does anyone have one of those slides that's got some kind of built-in measuring ruler? Like millimeters or microns.. some kind of a graduated scale so you can put a bug up next to it and take a photo showing the exact size.
If you do, let me know where I can purchase one. Everytime I send a picture off to our local experts (not LB's experts but like Univ of Fla Entomology School, Purdue Univ, etc.) they always ask for a measurement. Thanks again.

Hi there Carrie you are sooo right. A lot of what I see and that comes out of me looks like tiny little fleas Kyra is wormed and bathed weekly with an antiseptic, fungal and flea wash. She has loads of garlic But that dosen't account for the fibres and the cotton like substance that is in our hair. This "thing" tho I definetly think that it is more than one thing as it presents so differently. Just guessing Carrie. Intereting post. Best. Roberta.

You may want to take the bug and others to an entomologist who is associated with the University of Florida located in Davie, Florida. The service is free. Please PM me if you need more information.

It does look like a bed bug huh!?! Yeah...it sure does. Do they lay their eggs in tissue or in the cracks of bedding...any one know? Hum...I've seen those things before at my onset...nasty critters.

Jose -
write this guy an email, giving the URL adress of the image you just posted, or email him the photo in an attatchment.
bugman@whatsthatbug.com
he's the one I sent my request for identification to.
I have not heard back from him, but there are more options out there to send to. I strongly suggest you do that as much as possible with the image. Just to be sure.
I'm as interested in your response as you are mine.

When I first contracted this, I had a lump in my right leg the size of an olive pit. I went to the doctor & they removed it & sent to the pathologist, the findings were "Remnants of a flea colony" & the doctor walked out of the room, leaving me with my mouth hanging open ~ in total disbelief that a doctor could just drop that bomb and walk out of the room! Well, you know I followed his sorry a$$ out of the room and asked him " So what type of treatment are you going to prescribe for this?" And all he said was "I can't help you any further" & I asked "Why after the pathologist said it was flea remnants living in my leg? I am a little confused" & he said " you need to find a doctor who specializes in this field" & I said " What effin field would that be doctor? Since obviously this is not your everyday common occurrence! And he did not say another word and turned again and walked away from me.............Un-effin-believable!!

Hi see Jane Crawl For a long long time i have wndered if one of the things that i have is fleas breeding in my body. I have lumps all over me. When I am terrily terribly itching I have these red bumps and after appying a lot of vaseline these tiny brown/black things come out of the lump and they look like little fleas! There is other things that come out of my body. Thanks so much for the post. It is always comforting to know that other people have something like you have. Best wishes. Roberta.

To Sidney jee wiz Sidney those pics of bed bugs look very very familiear. Just a few days ago my face has broken out in small lesions. The moe I think of this thing the more I am certain that we have more than one "thing" in our body. It is soooo good to be able to communicate with you. Lots of love. Roberta.

It could be a carpet beetle also, depending on the size. Some species don't have a really distinguishable head and they just taper toward the end. We've had many Morgies with carpet beetle problems in the past, but then we have problems with all sorts of things so it's hard to say. I hope you can get it identified Jose, I would say to see your County Extension office as well.

Robertalouise,
Yes it is comforting knowing someone else has the same experiences! Strange as that sounds!
It was weird because not all of my lesions would turn into the lumps, I think I only had two of those & the house we lived in when we contracted this seem to come alive with fleas when it started to get warm outside. So I am thinking that is where the fleas came from. On the other hand I get smaller lumps after the lesson heals, especially on my hands, I guess because there isn't as much fat as there is on the rest of my body. I don't know, it is just an opinion...... I am so tired of trying to figure this BS out. We are all missing out on so much of life with this, I hope they can figure it out soon.
