While I still have the itchies in my head, I am feeling better as are my kids. Can we kill this thing (or at least keep it at eternal bay) without the help of doctors? Have any of you had successes living without Morgellons after an infection? If so, what do you attribute it to?
Oh yea, do delusional people spontaneously heal from their delusions? Seems to me that a mental illness, as we have all been told we have, would be more tenacious than a physical one. I wonder what the doctors would say about us when we are feeling better, "miraculous mental recovery."
Sometimes I just can't believe that this thing happened to me and mine. There must be a reason.

hi, Linda--have you guys tried the vinegar in your hair? its worked quite well for the boys and i...i really dont want to jinx myself, BUT--i think we may also be improving with (my) taking @ 6 tablets daily of MSM, and also a lot of the emergen-c-- i have not ordered the sodium tablets yet, so perhaps the salt and c would really kick its @#$!!! i pray to God this will last, i have been barely feeling any of the evil beasts--i know there are stiil some there--but (crossing fingers now!)..but i feel like we are getting a hold on it...hang in there, i feel so bad for you having to see your baby suffer and feel helpless to help (my sons didnt exhibit symptoms until they were older)--and we can torture ourselves with wonderign the how and when and why, (i certainly have!) but i am hoping that even more than that, yourself and family, and every one of us here will move far beyone this nightmare to a life free from this disease!!!! peace, marabelle

We've been using enzyme cleaners, one bought locally and another ordered online at safe2use.com.

Thanks Marabelle and Spiderlegs,
I just thought I'd mention that neem oil applied to my upper back seems to help the itchies in my head too. It absorbs into my skin and gets into my bloodstream--I can feel it. The only problem with the neem is the smell--yuck! It works great if you want to repel any potential sexual partners though! (This desease has zapped both my appetite and sex drive). I just wish I could figure out what I did last time to help me recover from a full blown infection. And, like you Marabelle, I wish I knew how to help and protect my kids. My boys seem to do better in summer, perhaps, because they get more exercise. My baby (now 18 months), still has an itchy head like me. I know that this is the cause of our ADD/ADHD, I just don't know the extent of the damage or if it is reversible. Can brains heal as well as the rest of us?

To everyone concerned about there kids: I have raised 2 boys that are now 23 and 28 and we moved in this house on the oldest's one first birthday in 1977. It was a nice clean home in a nice quiet neighborhood. We eventually found out that the basement flooded occasionally(every 2 to 3 years) and we had alot of moisture problems. The area used to be a swamp but we loved living here so we learned to tolorate the problems. We put in central air and ran a dehumidifier and got rid of all rugs in basement. I know the house has effected my health but I have always spent a lot of time at home and I think everything has built up in my system. The boys have went through times of having suffering but with different symptoms. The older was more of a homebody and he had the skin problems(acne on face and back) and was very irritable. The younger was more athletic and hardly ever in the house but came down with serious illnesses from the time he was a baby. An abcess on his neck at 8 mo. a bone infection at age 8 and cellulitus when he was 19. These were hard for the drs to diagnose and he took mega doses of doxy for them, once on IV's for 6 weeks. I'm sure they were of the anerobic germ family. My advice would be have them take quick showers 2 to 3 times a day and change clothes as often as possible. Also teach them that it is very important to use peroxide or disifectant when they cut or scratch themselves. I really think this stuff carries some powerful forms of bacteria that doesn't show up in medical tests, so if they get sick and it lingers go back or call dr everyday. I was told that mine had the flu and it settled in his ankle. On my fourth trip to the dr they said go straight to hopitol. He could have been crippled for life.

One thing we have learned recently: if you plan on taking a homeopathic remedy for this (or really any ailment) and you currently take herbal remedies, you must stop ALL herbal remedies for at least a week before you begin your homeopathic treatment. That's ANYTHING with herbs. We've had to stop using some of the things we relied upon in order to be ready for the treatment we will take in a week. It's really weird because I was showing so much improvement with the antibiotics, but I've had to stop taking them because they conflict with the treatment, so my symptoms are all back ready to screw with me, my mind, my skin.
I have no problem admitting this thing has driven me nuts. It has. But I wasn't nuts before it came along. I blame the bugs and the "welfare doctors" (because they sit on their rears, tell you your nuts, and collect a check) for my declining mental state.

Moms', Linda u r the one who got me to make my first post. oh god, the children. I would gladly take it all away to myself if i could get my son free of these symptoms. Things have been known to get severe in a few cases reported. I am seeing my charlie get worse again, i think moving stirred all the crap up and being lower to ground in the dirt scraping knees and fuzz taking over his body is really affecting his brain. i have help on the way unless something went wrong since i last spoke to the dr i begged for help. (long story) my dr doesnt take medicaid im diabled w/ medicare so i ask him to help our ped. of 20yrs to treat him i pray the answer is yes find out m-t. I dont want to scare moms but my good friend is very tough after i heard how bad her son had gotten, good news he started getting better after 1-2 dose of antibiotic and is almost completely normal now. its an amazing story just not my place to tell it. the places my son was bit by ticks last wk 2 diff times are showing black specks around, red, and was oozing. im thinking of breaking the scab so more goop can come out as i think that would be better, what do u all think? pray for the children, they r so helpless and have know idea whats happening to them. my son told me last night again, mom, the tick have gotton almost all my blood am i going to die. he wakes w/ stiff hand and crys from leg pain, ADD and anger fits never had before. More symtoms too. We MOMS and DADS have to be strong for our kids. prob. the only thing that has kept me here. love to all (G)

gmsscared,
Jeessuuss, I wish I new how to help you sister, or Chrissy, or Marabelle. It just sucks when your kids have this, and when you realize that you have given it to them. I've noticed that when my boys work up a good sweat, I find more "sand" in their beds the following days. I think the sand is dead stuff. I'd like to think that this is a sign that they are rebounding, but who knows? My kids are small, so I don't let on like this is anything "unusual." My then three-year-old told me that he had bugs in his body at one point. My heart broke, but I told him that he was mistaken (tonge in cheek). His doctor was sure that I put the idea in his head--idiot. Don't they see that caring moms don't want their kids to figure out that there is something terribly arwy here? I think I might need anger management classes because the thought makes me want to punch these alleged "doctors" out. My suggestion to you, gmsscared, is to fill your son's life with as many positive experiences as possible so that he might forget that he is in pain. In the meantime, keeps searching for a doctor that cares.
We need to stay strong.
Take Care, Linda
