Yep, but don't know if it's right. This may sound odd but I only use white sheets so I can er em kind of see the state of my Morg condition on any given day. Well, I had been experimenting with various foot remedies and tea tree brought about an ankle scratch....and when I woke up I saw one of those eyelash looking things. Another time I got Morg brainitis and took two of my Poria Cocos....forgot...took two more...forgot...well you get the picuture. Well took a nap and woke up with a bunch of those tapered hairs with one end that looks like the eyelash and the smaller end is a fiber. A pile of those under each ankle and .... more scratches. So in my humble opinion ... it is those eyelash/eyelash tapered hair structure. ~Bugsy

I was doing a rub with salicylic acid shampoo on my lower arms and one of those scratch-tracks spontaneiously appeared. I rubbed at the scratch and 3 fibers, each about 2 inches long, came out. I think sometimes the fibers lay parallel to the skin and just under the epidermal layer. When they are stimulated by something they don't like, they rip up through the top layers of the skin. Another idea is, a section of infection coordinates, and all pops particles or fibers up out of the pores at the same time, ripping a line in the skin. For a long time I was mad at this disease for not being compassionate. Just ripped me up when-ever... Yes it's pretty weird.
When this Morgs started about a year ago, I got a lot of the scratch-tracks, one extremely painful one at the inside of my right knee. I was just sitting watching TV. The scratch curved and was about 6 inches long. Really stung. However, since treating myself and lots of rubs, I hardly ever get the scratches anymore.

There are lots of 'scratch' threads at ??.com (broken computer can't look now). Morgellons is not a concern there - was just a passing mention one time that I saw. But you'd think there's a connection between all the scratch victims. I thought 1 or 2 scratches on me were from fibers because of what I'd seen. I can't remember the details, sorry to say. My boyfriend was talking to me, crossed 2 rooms, came back with mail, and this scratch was on his hand. He has no morgellons symptoms he says,( but if you rub lotion on him..... )

Ali, aaaaaaaaahhhhhhh yes..........the scratch marks. I used to get them alot.......all different lengths and shapes. Mostly they would appear to come out from under my fingernails on both hands. WIERD YES THEY ARE!!!! Has anything been seen inside or around these scratch/cut marks? Yes indeedy. You can probably NOT see it much with your naked eyes though.........it's almost like cameflage (sp.?) BUT, if you go to a good HOBBY STORE, get what I never do without: A hand held magnifier with built in tweezers! They cost about $3. You'll see some friggin' amazing ( and horrifying) truths.......in, out , and around those cuts are: those black dots or specks, AND those infamous "FIBERS" which are, in my opinion, NOT FIBERS AT ALL BUT LIVE WORMS OR PARTS OF THE MORGELLONS ORGANISM. You must be brave and look. This is why most doctors dismiss this thing so fast, they DON'T LOOK CLOSE ENOUGH or with a magnifying equipment! And even if they did, they would be forced to blow you off, because IT AIN'T IN THE BOOKS YET FOLKS!!!!! Doctors HATE to admit they don't know something, so they pass us off and pass us off and so on and on and on and on.......and we suffer on and on and on and on and oooooooonnnn!!!!! Tell ya another thing.......ever notice that if you indeed accidentally scratch yourself say....on a tree branch......or brush against something with a sharp edge.......ever notice that it takes this cut a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnng time to heal? ?! Sometimes I've seen a cut not heal for MONTHS! I say if this thing can "thread itself" into the skin, it can also "thread itself into the blood system". Just my theory. My family has not gotten this thing THANK GOD. It's been since May, 2003. Michelle

My thought on the scratch like looking wounds It appears to be a fiber entering the body for some ( that will make the straight scratch marks ) the other kind appears to be hatching from something on the top of skin in linneir streaks when they hatch the scrath will look like lil dots all in a row forming a scratch looking thing but you will see individual dots on the scratch . I found this out by accedent one day my back was beyond itchy so i grabed some plain yogart and smoothged it ON top of my skin cause I knew yogart kills fungus ( like a peal off mask) an hour later walking around in total releif . I walked past a mirror and notest lines of the white specks stuck to my back . One of those were tested in my state lab and determind to be a miget fly egg ( flys lay eggs in lines ) still doesnt compute .. something I am infected with perhaps attracting flies ? No one knowes what yet . I stopped trying to figure this out cause it looks like everything so it could be a mixture but what attracts the mixture ? Thats the answer we are all waiting for . So today I just treat the symptoms cause the cause hasnt been found yet.

Hi Ali I hope you and that beautiful little girl are doing well. The paper cuts, oh lordy those paper cuts. I've wanted to ask a question about it for a while but don't want my buds to think I'm nuts. Anyway when i first got "full blown" you know at the point of asking the Lord to let you sleep forever time. When the stinging and crawling is non stop, when you get out of a bath or shower and it gets so bad and your to weak to scream or run for your life. When you only sleep every 3 days (and thats because your body just plain passes out) OK sorry I did get bit crazy there, huh. I was looking at my hands for 14 to 16 hours a day trying to figure it out. I used to run my fingers through my hair but when i figured out what I was picking up on my hands and under my nails I stopped. The RED fibers from hell I call them were the worst. I'd watch them move on my hand and arms that were under the microscope. They could spring, crawl slow like a leap frog/snake like movement, (I'm sorry I have a hard time trying to find the right words to discribe it.) I would take the tweezers to remove the fiber from my skin and it would dig in, just like a staple going in, look with scope and you'll see the two holes with slice in the middle (I so hope I'm making sence) like this .____. and when you get a ood hold on the fiber, one end will slip out of the hole and go in like this .______ with just one hole on the end, sometimes like stitch work _._._._._._. and then there is the "I'm just going straight in hole with no slice like this (.) I've always thought all the fibers start out small like 1/8 inch and then somehow connect together. have you ever see a very long one on a mirror , mist spray it and sure as crap there will be a little air/gas somekind of bubble about every 1/8 of and inch. Sometimes they go in on a angle so your skin just looks like a piece of dry skin flake coming up, thats when they go just under the very top layer of skin, mostly they go deeper and you get the paper cut wound. For years long before i got full blown, my hands always had paper cuts but I only felt the crawling ever once in a while, it was no big deal, I never gave it much thought, it was always my back, my back itched all the time. In fact I'm amazed my hubby never got the paper cuts because I was always asking him to scratch my back, I still do but now I make him wash his hands afterwards. I have looked at tem under the scope and he'll have the fibers under his nails but they don't go into his skin, nor do they itch or sting him. When he washes his hands they come off but when I wash my hands they stick on WHY? On him it's a non harmful fiber and on my skin it's a stinging, itching, lazer, allergen, enzyme eating parasite from hell. Ok heres my question - I never see the red ones anymore and I no longer get the paper cuts, my old lesions are very slow at healing but I'm not getting any new ones. I do see the blue ones when I use my shed enders doggie comb every night, but they are few and far between. I'm still loaded with the clear/white ones but they seem to be very happy clinging to my hair roots and don't move a lot. Do you all think they change color as they age? Do you find the red and black (like eye lash) are more aggresssive then the white/clear? I've kinda thought the red, black are the parent parasites. The 1/8 inch white ones are the baby parasites. And the long thinner black, long clear and blue are the nesting matteral that they weave to protect the babies. OK DO I SOUND CRAZY? ? Also I think the mean and i do mean MEAN red ones can even go through glass, finger nails, just about anything, nothings to hard or to solid for it to penetrate. OK thats it, I do sometimes feel really crazy. I read it and then I go whew Sue Iknow what I've seen, it's all to real. I really understand why doctors think we are DOP. What I don't andd never will understand is that they "DON'T LOOK" Cause if they did, they would see it. Then they would be DOP to, maybe they have, maybe they are. I wish we were. Love and good health to all, SueinMD The long thinner black, blue and clear are the nesting that they weave.

I get those on the sides of my fingers, mostly in the winter when my hands are dried out. I haven't seen anything coming out of them, but I found a great way to get rid of the cuts, use Palmers Coco butter, that stuff is great & usually gets rid of mine in a day or so.

Dear Liz I don't play games with them. I show them the cuts scratches lesions etc and they don't want to know!!!! Even my rash which is quite big round red spots inflamme and obviously not created by scratching. They just have tunnel vision and seem to have an awnser for everything I show them. So I have given up on them!! Very besst wishes. Roberta.

Hi Princess Ali I get these cuts all the time and they itch like hell. Until I get them oput with copious amounts of vaseline rubbed into the cuts. Some of them a little black gritty speciks others are white and like aa grain of salt. It isn't just one or two that comes out of these cuts it can be up to nine or ten, when they are all out the itching stops. It is intolerable. What I find the hardest to treat is the middle of my back below my neck and shoulders. I had an accident to my right arm many years ago and it is permanently bent so I cann't reach those parts easily drives me dippy!!! But you are not alone with this. Very best wishess. Roberta.

Hi Suebe I am sooo pleased that you mentioned finger nails. I have a few red ones but mainly white quite thick hard things peel off my fingernails. The look like a worm but are quite hard freaks me out but no use showing anyone. I just wouldn't be believed. Thanks so much for your post. Best Roberta.

Suebe, if you are crazy, then I am too! Because I have seen the same exact things you've mentioned. I watched it, said to myself that this cannot be happening. They kind of 'sew' a basting stitch sometimes. When you said ._. , I definately recognized it. I had often wondered if the color change was based on aging, as well. It is so strange to read your own questions that you ponder in your mind, "Is it this or that..."

Thanks Gertie, I hate that everyone on this board has this horror but a the same time I'm so glad I found this group and know it's not "just me"
You know the doctor at a lab out here (working his behind off trying to find answers for us) he once said to me. Sue it seems many have different symtoms and I told him, no i don't think that's the case. It's just that it's new to us and in trying to relay what we are going through, we sometimes use different words, terms to discribe the very same thing, thats all. I have a hard time trying to find the wright words, makes me nuts.
I so wish our answers would come. Take care, love andd good health, SueinMD
P.S. Hey i like your name, Gertie is my hubby's pet name for me. I'm his Gertie and he's my Bunkie, really just two "old farts"

yeh i just 2 days ago got a big open one
thing is..
when i get them
they look NASTY.. BUT.. they dont get all inflamed and infectious like a normal cut would.
they pretty much just stay the same.. pretty much unnoticeable...
like if i did not see it.. i do not think i would know it is there.
i don't feel it being irritated or infected..
upper left thigh.
big one..
biggest one i've had.. same as all the rest.. dotted-kind of..
i took a pic.. i'll post it tomorrow i think..

suebe, no you're not crazy. However, I do thnk the fibers and particles are coming from inside us, not the outside. Many here have had the experience of the stuff sinking back down into the skin after it has emerged. Also, I have seen the fuzz-ball fiber bundles imbed themselves in a drinking glass and in the surface of a pocelain sink when I washed my hair.
The particles/fibers appear to be highly charged so will interact with things like glass.
From my observations I do think the red fibers turn black with age.

My theory ...
We all know whatever is the infectious agent in us attracts all sorts of insects .
Insects spread other illnesses like Lyme Not all of us with morgellons test positive for the other illness like Lyme ..
Today ( and this changes ) I think we need to find the infectious agent that causes Morgellons and when we treat that , The other things like a mountain of all sorts of insects will no longer be attracted to us and thus no more other infections .
I feel the bugs are making us sicker and we have to get to the souse of what is attracting the bugs . We all have common things but not all of us have the same thing except for attracting all sorts of other bizarre things . Make sense?
