I bought a new home in June 2004, in March 2005 a black substance started appearing all over my carpet. Later is when the "creatures" appeared. Have any of you had this black substance? The Warranty people have looked at it, my Insurance Company has taken samples to be tested -- NO ONE KNOWS WHAT IT IS. I personally believe it is leavings from our visitors. Please let me know if anyone has had a similar occurence. I'm trying to make a case for The Warranty to be liable for all that is going on. Thanks, And believe me just knowing there are others out there with the same problem has been a blessing. Linda

Hi Linda
You mention the fact that you bought a new home, but is the home new itself (recently built).... I got to thinking (ouch)... If it is new & the flooring under your carpet was not set (dry) perhaps mold could be growing under the carpet & causing this problem...
Moisture & mold problems definately seem to be associated with a lot of other people.... Just a thought & of course I could be way off....
Wishing you well....

I bought it new, I'm the first owner. The substance has been tested for EVERYTHING, from soot (and I do NOT have a fire place) to EVERYTHING. NOthing is found in the tests, HOWEVER, there is still black all over the house. I have found our little creatures in my gums and when I rub my fingers over my gums they get black. That is why I was wondering if anyone else had had this problem. Linda

Hi Linda, I have a couple of possible answers that I have ran across. In recent years there has been a lot of new cases of an unidentifiable mold or fungus. The article said it was probably carried to the US in the strong wind currents of the hurricanes. Houston would definitelly be suseptible. Check the humidity level in your home and if necessary get a dehumidifier. I think the humidity level should be below 30. Also molds can grow in the heating ducts and are distributed throughout the house when the blower is on. susiebelle

We recently purchased an air purifier, which removes mold, bacteria, viruses, etc. I feel it has made an enormous difference in our home and perhaps in my recovery. That might help with your problem. Even without a mold or fungus problem, people should have air purifiers due to all the indoor pollution we are subjected to today. Check out Ecoquest International. They have one of the best in my opinion. My dad had a HORRIBLE mold situation in his basement and the purifier has cleared it up. NASA uses them on board spacecraft and it was the technology used to clean up the Pentagon after 9/11. I hope and pray you can get rid of your problem.

A friend of mine suggested an Ozone thingie, that it sometimes has an effect on certain "creatures". I'm going to try it on these creatures and see what happens. Thanks, Linda

Funny you should mention this, since it was the first thing that happened to me before I got Morgellons Disease. I went into my house after my family went on vacation(I was living there before anything like this happened). Anyway, I walk in, I had been gone for about 4-5 hours, and I look around to only see tons of pretty huge big black fuzzballs in every single freaking place in my two bedroom house. I mean there must of been at least a hundred or so.
Anyway, I was tired as hell, since I just got off work, but I couldn't leave them there and I was sort of scard by them so I decided to vacuum them up. After I got through with that , I just layed down on the couch exhausted. It wasn't until a little later that I freaked when I saw black and white things come onto my skin, and start to itch, and just generally feel like I was being atttacked by them.
This was the first time that I got sent to the ER also. What fun that was to try to explain the doctor what had happened. He threw me into the ICU since i had a huge amount of drugs in my urine(70% of which I had never taken in my life, the other 30% were prescription drugs that showed up)). Well I wasn't feeling the morgellons coming on yet, but oh boy how they would later on.
About a week later I get the normal symptoms - feeling like bugs are crawling all over my skin, feeling like they're biting me, feeling like they're growing fibrous hair in place of mine, feeling them attacking me when I try to stop them from growing.
I i went to a Dermatologist to see what was going on. Anyway she told me basically I had Scabies, cased closed. Except that the fact that she didn't mention that she also listed Delusional Parasitis also in her stupid and freaking ignorant diagnosis(excuse my profanity, I just got back from the mental ward because I got sent by ANOTHER ER doctor and had to wait three days in that hell hole to see my doctor who actually knew I had this disase, to get me discharged.)
SO I take her cream... oh it helps maybe a little bit. So I start to use it every day. Oh, whoops i'm only supposed to use it once a week, and it should've most likely gone away the first time? Okay, okay. Fine I give up. These fiber things popping out of my hands and body, oh yes I just hallucinate them. Let me put them out of my mind. Let me put the constant, 24/7 moving and biting of the bugs in my skin out of my mind too, since that couldn't evist
Oh wait, I can't. I sleep about 1 hour a night, if possible from constant harrassment of these damn parasites. I don't have the energy to get up, get a shower, brush my teeth, eat, or do something as painstakingly hard as a job. Not to mention that my lyme disease, coupled with the damn CFS worsens the situtiion...well i'm on dead on the couch for weeks, unemployed. I eat frozen dinners which takes all the energy in the world.
I want to die. I write out my will. I write out my suicide note.
THe only thing that didn't stop me was when I found out about morgellons. When I found out that there was a nurse practicioner in Austin, TX I thought maybe there was a chance. I got an appointment, and told her every weird thing that had happened, which Ginger explained was normal for us patients. I was relieved then. And was very relived when the antibitiotics started to work.
Now that they have become resistant to them, i'm back to square one. I'm sueing the ER doctor who recently put me away in the mental institute because: I'll start a new thread on that.

hello, i've never done this b4 but i've had this crap for the majority of last 12 yrs. i have many of the symptoms others do but always have wierd stuff like the black your experiencing at the onset of my symptoms. it started out with black tarlike substance appearing in carpet and film of black all over all surfaces. other times it's been a white/transrent waxlike material all over my things. this always happens when i've left for awhile and return home. they both have the same look when magnified(both have lots of small fibers in them). i know this sounds crazy but i've had many things happen to make me believe someone or something is introducing this into my environment.(home and car). does anyone else have this happening to them? or is this what it's e to lose one's mind. the hard part is knowing it's real.

Hello, I've just joined in membership to this site. I have been reading your postings for months~ actually since February. While listening to Coast to Coast one evening, a woman called in from Gig Harbor in reference to a woman who had previously called in from Florida to talk about the "mysterious skin disease"- Morgellons. I went to the Morgellons website and lo' and behold, I was , contrary to most doctors opinions, not insane. I have had the full blown skin lesions for around 4 years, but have had the multitude of symptoms for around 8 years (perhaps longer?). As for the black stuff on your carpet, I'm with Jim. It is a tar like substance that is extremely hard to remove. I have it on my wood floors. I know it's coming from Them/me because I first noticed the substance stuck to my bathtub/shower after bathing. I find that if I've been exercising or working hard (i.e. sweating) then there is much more of it. On the opposite end of the color spectrum I also find a white paint like substance that "bleaches" my clothes. This is not a hallucination. I have wiped my face while working (carpentry) on my shirt (my face has some pretty scary lesions. They are in the same area of the initial "flare," sometimes looking better than other times. They are around my hairline recessing into hair at temples, jawline, and cheeks. Not to say I don't get them elsewhere, they just seem to have their "basecamps" positioned here on my face~ so very kind of them) and pulled it away to see this substance remaining, probably some blood too, because I have never bled so much in my entire life. I have had some excision sessions with these things that I am surpised I was still standing. Not only from the excruciating pain, but the blood loss. And about the blood loss (I do apologize if I'm grossing anyone out, but I figure if you suffer from this, you've experienced the disgusting truth of this nightmare. And if you are merely reading because you are concerned or fascinated, Welcome to the nightmare I wouldn't, nor could not possibly wish upon anyone ) ~ back to the blood, has anyone experienced the blood coming from the lesions that drained out in what appeared to be measured amounts? I know I was a little crazy before the onset of this stuff. I also know that nothing is too far fetched to be possible with this disease. As everyone who posts at this site continues to prove to me. Thank you all for your suggestions and thoughts on our subject. But more importantly, your kindness and hope! I've been pushed so far to the edge with this stuff, I have at times scared myself. You are all heaven sent!

Justice, Yes, yes, yes to the blood. Everyone I've talked to has said they either don't bleed or just a little. I will bleed profusely if I mess with a sore and then it just clots up. Now this is gonna be a gross question....does the blood sometimes come out like it's a large sac or unusually thick? I'm nauseous just thinking about it...it's been a while. ------------------------------------------------------------------ "to make me believe someone or something is introducing this into my environment." Jim, I'm scared to death to broach this subject. I will say that it has crossed my mind due to my own experiences, but I quickly dismiss it. Maybe you can give more details of your experiences. I know there are two people who suffer with this that fully believe that is the cause. Also, when I first found another discussion board, a woman there talked about a relative who was part of a group (cult- like starts with an S....don't want to offend anyone) and he got caught and admitted to surveillancing her house and other things I no longer remember. After reading about these experiences, I went looking to see if I could find anything on the net. Lo and behold, there are support groups for those that have been victims of harassment such as this. www.multistalkervictims.orgwww.datafilter.com/mc/relatedSiteLinks.htmlI hope no one is offended or thinks I'm "out there". It's just information that I have come across. Being that everything surrounding this disease is strange and mysterious, I try to keep an open mind.

Yes Lisa, it does come out in a "sac" and is unusually thick. I guess the sac is the measured amount I was referring to. Thank you for helping to describe it more accurately. I also want to say that with this disease, I believe that whatever happens to you should be shared and described fully. I also believe that any theories or hunches should also be related to all because more often than not, someone has experienced or thought the same thing. As far as being crazy or paranoid, if I wasn't already, this experience continues to promote both.

Has anyone else come home, when they lived with someone/some people and have them move away, or go out on vacation, and then find when they got home their house had tons of fiber balls/insects? And have people who have had lived with people, had them move out or away for awhile... did you contract morgellons when you went back home alone? I have a feeling there might be a connection with this, at least for the people that live with someone else.
