It is said that it is the fate of all mankind to be born out of the darkness so that we may seek the light. And that in so doing, we may learn all the better ... to see....and having learned to see, that we may help others to see... those of our own time who are born among us, and those who will come in that time after. Chas Holman was a gifted seeker and an enlightened keeper of God's divine light. By his example he has illuminated the path to a better, fuller, and richer life for those who have been privileged to call him ..."Friend." God Bless you, Chas Holman. Your light continues to shine down upon us. That special light that is the very soul of Charles Holman, even now ... Your light dispels the gloom that gathers over this sad hour... Your light is ever making our world a brighter place to dwell. By your light, Charles Holman... your friends have learned to see! By your light, Charles Holman, the vision you held forth for us all will never be extinguished. By your light, Charles Holman, by the shinning light of your example.....our shadows are banished, our nightmares, vanquished. So we... your loved ones, say to you now... Go in peace...Go in God, Charles Holman. And know that we... Your friends and family gathered here today ... will never forget your treasured gift to us.....That special light that was your life...that special vision... That gentle soul, Charles Holman... You will shine on in our eyes, forever, illuminating for all eternity the path of light that leads to the hearts of those here...those who will always love you. -Cliff Mickelson

Thanks, All:
Chas will be sorely missed. Not many folks out there who don't actively have this affliction are willing to step up to the plate for us all the way that Charles did!

Oh eulogies. They are so sad. I did not know this man, but just the word eulogy reminds me of the the sad/happy eulogies I have heard lately. Too many funerals lately. They make me sad because the person is gone, I can't enjoy them anymore, but happy because they have get to go home finally, so to speak.

Thanks Cliff. That was a suitably beautiful eulogy for a fine soul. Charles truely was a good friend to many and a great champion of our cause.

Hi Liz:
Not at all. I live there too for part of the year. Was hoping to be able to get a chance to meet and compare notes before I leave for the winter.

Hi Ali:
Yes, this area has something to be said for it. Love the summers here. It also seems to have an unusually large number of morgies when compared to the population base. One of the original Morgies that I first met was from Sunnyside. Her name was Kathy MacDonald. She seems to have disappeared as of late. No word from her in some years now.
What part of WA are you living in?

Cliff, that was beautiful. I haven't written anything as I emailed Cindy privately. God Bless us all and the family and dear friends Chaz had. I know he wants his work to continue. Always, Glenda

When I told my girls about Charles' passing they quickly replied "You mean the funny one from Texas?" and "He did a great Dr. Martin impersonation!". We are all in shock of this news and will always remember a man who liked to laugh and could make you feel at ease even when facing a difficult time. Cindy, you both reached out to us when we were faced with such a great loss and I am at a loss for words except know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Love, Anne, Sarah, Maggie and Hanna

Thanks, ebgbms. My only regret is that I couldn't be at the Funeral.
Ali: ....I love the Lewiston area as well. Used to play there back in the 70's. The downtown is so classically "Western"... Also spent a good deal of time over by Riggens and used to canoe down the Salmon to the Snake and then to Clarkston. Is that smelly old pulp mill still there?
