Hi All! I'm trying desperately to at least control this thing until I get a doctor that will try to help me. One thing I need to know.......as it is now when I sleep at night I take a hot, hot bath with enzyme cleaner and borax, and I sleep with a cap with elastic edges on my head and plugs in my ears to keep "them" from going into my face and ears. I used to use neem oil on my face to keep them in the head, which is where my problem is, I think. It does not work any more. Does anyone know what I can put on my face to keep them out of my eyes, nose and mouth? I awaken with them all over, and this really bothers me; not to mention the damage they do in these places. Also....msm, available without an rx and what dosage? Thanks everyone and anyone. Audrey

Enzymes get destroyed by heat so don't bother with them in a hot hot bath (or using them in steam cleaners) because you're wasting it. I just use borax and then lightly towel off and spray my body with the enzyme solution. The enzyme solution has also worked better than any of the oils or menthols for me in my eyes (lids and lashes only) ears and nose.
As for MSM, I get mine at MSM-MSM.com because they have good prices. They tell you what to take but basically supposed to work your way up to 8 teaspoons a day! Or however much your body can take. It's been too soon for me to tell if it even helps or not but I am a chemist and the sulfur (in MSM) certainly couldn't hurt with this condition.
Hope this helps!

PS - for your face DO NOT use any of the enzyme cleaners with peppermint oil or any type of oil that can harm sensitive skin. I use Kleen Free from Natural Ginesis.

PSS - DO NOT put Vicks in the nostrils - it's a petroleum based product that gets inhaled into the lungs and stays there reducing lung capacity - for GOOD. This is well documented - any doctor will confirm or call Vicks directly, they even warn against it and "serious consequences" on their website.

As for enzymes being destroyed by heat, it's only in excesses of 120 degrees, so as long as you don't approach that temperature, a hot bath with enzymes is fine. That's what we do.
You should avoid ANY of the mint enzyme cleaners if you are on any sort of herbal or homeopathic treatment. The mint reduces the effectiveness of most treatments, according to our doctor. But the plain enzyme cleaners are safe to us on your face.
A cheap source of sulphur lotion is at a dollar store in the hispanic neighborhoods of major cities. It's not medicinal, but the active ingredient is sulphur which is what you need. We buy it cheaply and use it liberally and it DOES stank something FIERCE!
Personally, I don't like putting goo on my face, so I've been using a damp washcloth to wipe my face with enyme cleaner ( no mint) a few times a day and I have few problems sleeping (other than they had already infested my sinus cavity--it way worse than it sounds, trust me--I'm being driven mad by them). I have severe allergies, so I can't apply anything but the enzymes in my nasal passages, but they seem to have prevented the things from getting as large is they initially were, which some were as large as a small tick. I vomited because of this condition quite frequently because of the constant blood and bug taste in my mouth, and the movement I feel in my sinuses constantly is maddening.
