My nephew answered a knock on the door and got clobbered in the forehead with a hammer. He had some words with the man in the parking lot earlier but thought nothing of it. Now we know the guy just got out of prison. So far he is at large.
My nephew is in a military brain-trama hospital with a plate in his head. He is lucky to be alive.

Oh bb! How terrible!!! My daughter clobbered a guy in the mall parking garage, as she was leaving work, several months ago. We just never know, do we. She was smart, and thought on her feet, but you know, that opportunity doesn't always exist. Her assailant ordered her to get into her car and when she refused, he presented a knife. That's when she took care of business. The first, and most crucial, step that she took (since it was already in progress), was to hurry and get her car door opened and to get on the other side of it. That way, he couldn't push her in. Thank God, she had seen that on Dr. Phil's show one day. She gave a description of her assailant, and went to do a line-up identification, but he wasn't in the line-up. This was a learning experience for her. We must always be alert when we smell danger, and not proceed as usual. I hope your nephew is going to be all right. That is so scary.

Becky, I am thankful your nephew is alive! My God - I just don't understand people! My husband get's hot at people sometimes and verbalizes his frustration and I worry that one of these days he is going to say TOO much and somebody will come after him. I tell him just to keep his mouth shut and most of the time he does - but not always! You just never know what the other person might do! I was JUST discussing with my daughter today about how humans are worse than animals when it comes to violent behavior!

That's true. Especially in packs, they become animals.

Ed, you are a trip. Yes, I have to admit that while I truly hate guns...it seems like these days it's not a bad idea! A friend I sued to waitress with about ten years ago was abducted a raped...in her own car, in broad daylight, outside a local grocery store. It frightened me so for her. She's alive, and they caught the guy, but MAN...... Oh, and did I mention that he stole her groceries, too? An opportunist, I guess??

BB,
I'm sorry to hear that your nephew was attacked with a hammer and seriously injured. His assailant needs to be locked up before he kills someone. I don't know how anyone could call it less than attempted murder. Anyway, BB, I've prayed for your nephew and I hope he recovers quickly.

Thank you everyone!
When I have prayed for James, I can see many angels surrounding the earth. He has awesome powers watching out for him!
He is doing great, is awake and talking to us. He remembers everything, no memory problems at all. He has a metal plate in his head now.

My goodness BB!!! I am glad he is ok. I hope the guy gets 25-life!!!!! What is with some people.
Victoreah, my friend does that too, and on the freeways too. I keep telling him to be careful, since we had those shootings not that long ago here around LA fwys from people that never even done anything, just looked at the person driving next to them, and POW!!! Car in the ditch. Police are still looking for some of the shooters. I am scared that one day he's gonna spout off to the wrong guy too.

Absolutely. I know a guy who got a golf club to the head for losing his temper one time too many.
He's a sweetheart now!
