I haven't been on here hoping to get a few things accomplished. I finally got enough nerve up last Friday and took samples (some were my own) of my dogs. I have used this Vet for 5 years. As soon as he seen samples on Friday that he thought were only my dogs he quickly let me know that some of the samples were Flea poop and the other sample was segments of a tapeworm. I told him I thought I may have THIS....His reply is "WHY DO YOU THINK THAT?" I told him I had been itching. He said there was NO WAY THAT COULD HAPPEN. The ONLY way that could be possible is if I had swallowed a FLEA. So I backed off. At least my dog was being treated, and I could think this over thru the weekend. Then I got the nerve to go in today and had my husband to take off work so we could hear the DIAGNOSIS together. I brought in some more of the same samples I showed him on Friday that were my dogs. When he heard me say they were MINE he immediately said GO TO A DERMATOLOGIST. I told him I had already done that on several occasions. He told me he could not help me. I asked if he could at least look at my samples under a microscope. He told me FLAT OUT NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! He started walking away and said HE HAS A FAMILY TO THINK ABOUT........THEY WOULD BE HERE BY 6:00 waiting on him if he did that! What the hell!!! So my question is this..... Should we be hitting the Vetenarian Board being that EVERYONE THAT HAS THIS IT SEEMS THEIR ANIMALS DO TO?

His comments are very suspicious to say the least--lots to read between the lines... But then don't you get just about the same response with your PCP...?

Well, he is a veteriarian, not a human doctor, so he's legally not allowed to look at things from people, only animals.
I'd not be too hard on him, he probably just doesn't want a lawsuit.

But........he said he has a family.......Doesn't this sound like the medical community might be threatened? And by whom? UN? People wake up!
Some investigation is called for here, like we do. Who is running this country? They have a grip on the medical community. If we do not have our health, we have nothing.
I think you are right Annie. I too have shown my stuff to vet, but, they are tied. Can't talk about anything. Funny thing is they treat everything known to heal animals, but, we as humans cannot be treated. Something wrong here.
However, I do think there are things out there happening. There is the Union of Concerned Scientists. The scientific community, the medical community will force upon us soon a synthetic world. We must fight this as some doctors, med folks, biotech folks, remember it is a choice. Will we follow our own instincts or will we follow some misguided force out there, because we will not THINK?

I wasn't being too hard on him. I simply don't understand how he could diagnose the dog and refuse to believe it could be something I could have. He said he has NEVER heard of anything like this before. IT JUST COULDN'T BE!!!!!

It is possible that those things were coming out of your body. If humans ingest fleas, they get tapeworms (similar to dogs). If you said you've never swallowed a flea, then, from what he understands, it is "impossible."
It might be possible that you swallowed a flea, especially if you have dogs. Luckily, it's easy to treat tapeworm. And the tapeworm doesn't have to be necessarily connect or part of your Morgellon's.
Sky, you're a dear and I appreciate your posts, but the UN threatening the medical community? isn't that kind of far fetched? he does have a family, maybe he just wanted to go out to dinner with them and that's why they were going to be there at 6:00?
How do you spell it... Achim's razor?

Your vet is LYING to you. He knows that people can get mange mites, and many others such organisms from their pets.
At least our vet put our dog on antibiotics since we have been diagnosed with Lyme. But I would never consider asking him to look at samples, because I know the reaction I would get. No vet wants to be involved in this, since our medical professionals aren't behind it.

A veterinarian told me that swallong a flea is NOT as uncommon as one might think.
If your pet or pets have fleas and if they sleep with you the chances are even more likely.
Most of us sleep at least part of the night with our mouths gaping. The possibility of a flea entering is not impossible and the vet I spoke with told me this very subject was even discussed at a vet association meeting he had attended several years ago ....So,
Your vet needs a wake up call.
I do feel he was only trying to protect himself and nothing more should be read into what he said to you.
BY LAW he is not allowed to diagnose/treat/otherwise a human being.

I really didn't get mad at my vet. I was really confused how he could tell me he had never heard of anything like this before!I don't want to get him in trouble....just educated! Before this happened to me I slept with my dogs, which are boxers. They were like my kids. Now, I dont spend 5 minutes a day with them. I just thought if I got a diagnosis from him on Friday then he could help me out a few days later. HE TREATED MY DOGS FOR FLEAS AND TAPEWORMS. Maybe I should have asked him to call my derm doc. Maybe that would be confirmation enough to do a skin scraping or parasite testing. ya think?

The bottom line is most pathogens that affect animals don't affect humans equally (even the mange scabies are not able to reproduce living on human blood so they die off rather quickly) and liability insurance will most definitely prevent him from making any recommendations for human treatment. He was right about recommending a dermatologist but we all know where that path leads. His hands are tied so don't bash him for what the lawyers did to our medical system.

There is someone at safe2use who has had mange for 20 years.
My husband has been bathing our dog regularly with pinesol mixed with a conditioning shampoo. For small dogs, rinse it off soon, but for large dogs leave it for a few minutes.
Bathe them when it is nice and warm outside so they can go out to dry. I always had increased crawling when there was a wet dog in the house.

Chem G, You said animal pathogens don't affect humans in the same way? Then why is it that this pathogen is affecting me and my dogs EXACTLY the same way? I see the fibers on my long haired dog, sometimes 10"long doing the cobra dance!!! I can't stand it!! I can't help him!! When is someone going to be able to help us?

I was wondering if anyone knows if I can order antibiotics from an online vet with no prescription and it be the same milligrams as I can get from the pharmacy? I would rather get them from a vet in the US than an online phamacy. Thanks
