I think a lot of you need to do a good search and see what is listed under "Hag Moth". I FINALLY got one of these from under my scalp overnight, hurt like hell, but got it.
They are a stinging catipillar that feed on brush, fruit trees, hardwood, ornamental trees on the lower limbs.
I knew my infestation had sonmething to do with that darn tree the landlord took down. A sweetgum (gumball) tree rested upon our home since we moved in nearly 2 years ago. A lot of the pictures I see here are in fact the various stages. Now gotta find a way to get them off scalp.

What site did you find that showed the various stages? I've only found the catepillar and moth. Is there something in between? Sorry you had to exorcise that from your head. Compared to the mental anguish this monster delivers, I find the physical pain (although unbelievable at times) pales by comparison. Hope you've found your culprit. Wishing you a return to "normalcy" soon, Justice
