IMHO, we need to get this "scandal" back to our presidential candidates.
Instead of talking about "eliminating the IRS" as some candidates have been talking... the real agency that needs to be eliminated is the CDC.
The CDC is totally failing the public heath. ACROSS THE BOARD.
It is corrupt to the core. It is a EVIL INSTITUTION CAUSING MASS SUFFERING OF THE WORLD POPULACE.
We know about the b*llshit they have planned for us with their bogus, lyme-denialist "kaiser study" ... that's just the "capper" to 30+ years of lies and inaction on lyme disease, vaccine safety, autism, alzheimers, ALS, MS, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Lupus, Cancers etc etc etc. What a bunch of a-holes!
AFAIC, the CDC needs to go. It's a complete scam, a total waste of money,
and they've been doing nothing on anything for as long as I remember.
(Other than scaring people about the bird-flu, a non-epidemic that'll never happen... while ignoring the epidemics that are happening right here, right now -- Lyme disease ... hello, CDC is a USA agency... what the hell is it doing worrying about AIDS in africa or bird flu in asia. Who cares!! We need help right here, we're paying taxes for the CDC to help, and they're off on junkets to africa.
But I guess they need to coverup their close involvement with the Epidemic Intelligence Service who brought AIDS to Africa in the first place. Yet another example of why the world would have been a better place if the CDC never existed at all.
FYI, there's a growing list of commentary about the failings of the CDC in the CBS news article below. Someone ought to write-up something detailing the CDC's longstanding coverup of Lyme disease, their planned coverup of Morgellons disease , as well as the CDC's former role in the #1 medical atrocity in human history other than the Nazi experiments of Joseph Mengele -- the tuskeegee syphillis study... which closely parallels their present coverup of another spirochete infection -- Lyme disease and their intended coverup of Morgellons.
These a-holes need to go. All of therm! We need to be writing our congressmen and senators to cut off funding for this useless agency. And IMHO, people like Julie Gerberding need to be doing jail time for letting this happen.

CDC Implicated In FEMA Scandal
FEMA is under fire for downplaying the health risk of formaldehyde exposure in its travel trailers. Armen Keteyian reports the public-health scandal has implicated the Centers For Disease Control. |
(CBS) As CBS News first reported last spring, FEMA has been under heavy fire for failing to acknowledge then adequately address health problems like respiratory illness associated with the toxic chemical formaldehyde found in travel trailers that became home for hundreds of thousands of survivors of Hurricane Katrina. More than 143,000 families have lived in the toxic trailers, and more than 40,000 still do.
Now, CBS News has learned, the public health fiasco reaches beyond FEMA - into the one of the nation's most respected agencies.
CBS News has learned that the Centers for Disease Control, the nation's top public health agency, suppressed repeated warnings from one of its top scientists, raising questions about whether the CDC bowed to pressure from FEMA to conceal the long-term health risks of formaldehyde in the trailers it distributed to hurricane victims - health risks like cancer and birth defects, CBS News chief investigative correspondent Armen Keteyian reports.
A string of internal documents obtained exclusively by CBS News reveal that Dr. Christopher De Rosa, director of the CDC's Division of Toxicology and Environmental Medicine, told his superiors "there is no safe level of exposure" to formaldehyde in trailers. That warning never made its way into any public report about the trailers.
In addition, Dr. De Rosa wrote in an email that two of his staff members had been directed by FEMA officials to not "address longer term health effects" of formaldehyde in this February 2007 report.
"To not do its due diligence on this issue borders on malfeasance," said Rep. Bernie Thompson, D-Miss., chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.
In fact, it wasn't until October 2007 - after eight months and pressure from congressional investigators that the CDC revised its February report and finally issued warnings about cancer and other long-term health risks of formaldehyde.
"For them to punt on this issue does not speak well for them as an agency," Thompson said.
De Rosa refused an on-camera interview with CBS News. The CDC did not comment on the documents, but said it changed the report after it realized there was a problem.

Did the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suppress information about the toxicity of trailers made available to house Hurricane Katrina victims? Did it retaliate against the scientist who spoke out about the danger?
Those are among the questions Congress has as it investigates the CDC over the toxic trailer episode that added toxic insult to injury after the botched FEMA response to Katrina, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The toxic trailer episode added yet another federal agency to the list that apparently failed the residents of New Orleans and the wider Gulf Coast.
The black eye is an unusual one for the CDC, which has been among the least politicized of the scientific agencies working on behalf of the American people. Unlike the Environmental Protection Agency, whose decisions are constantly assaulted by scientists, the CDC's decisions have often been left to the experts in Atlanta, where the CDC is headquartered.
But in the wake of the federal failings in response to Katrina, politics was paramount and may have trumped good sense and science. At least, that's what Congress is investigating as it strives to fill the watchdog role the Constitution designates for it, but which it has so often shirked in recent years.
