For those of you who have lesions that don't get infected, the theory that some fluorescing bacteria colonize wounds and produce antibiotics may be the reason.
P. Putida is a member of this group that fluoresces and pro- duces antibiotics and antifungals.

Photorhabdus luminescens and Photorhabdus asymbiotica; one attacks insects and the other humans; one is associated with a particular nematode and the other not.
The tales of self-healing glowing wounds in the Crimean War and the American Civil War are intriguing.

Also, in my reading about Demodex fol., it converts some of the components of sebum to chemicals that inhibit the growth of staphlococcus bacteria, specifically, MRSA staph.

JWF, that's for sure, my lesions too never got infected, never showed any trace of anything but it. Was actually like whatever was in there sure was full of it's own goodies to keep the body from rejecting it.

Wow thanks for that info. john Blue Skies, yep that was me all the way. Now my kin is much much better. No lesions at all. I took my last Rifampin 4 days ago, can't get a refill but so far so good, keeping y fingers crossed.
The stuff in my globs of "what ever it is" always had the same shape, kind of like a worm, I hate to say that, but true, it looked like a worm/fish almost, but only a shape like a fin on one side of it.

The glowing healing wounds - timewise, some occured the same time as the original Morgellons - 1600's. Any connection? ?

bessie, Can you please post your reference link? I do follow thoughts about werewolves, morgie babies, etc. around the 1500's. Any info. about this time-period I would greatly appreciate.
