Well the exercise bikes out the picture, tear's my knees up too bad, so taken up walking aroung outside, a lot more knee friendly. Improvements... Left hand is almost there, still have tight tendons in my fingers but not as bad as yesterday, right is way behind, but slight improvement on yesterday. I tried sleeping on my right shoulder last night, after half an hour my right hand bothered me too much, so went back to sleeping on my back. I'm going to try 3 days on Salt/C two days rest etc.. Should be enough after all this time. I actually felt hungry this morning too, first time in weeks, usually have to force myself to eat, maybe the exercise will help that side.
All in all, this Salt/C is working for me, been a long uphill ride so far, but that light at the end of the tunnel is growing brighter daily!xs

Still improving !! I am sleeping better, can now slepp on my right side, left shoulder still hurts too much, but at least it's nice not to wake up with a "mouth full of cotton" (I snore terribly on my back)! My legs and knees are growing stronger daily and I am building lost muscle tissue in both my calfs and thighs. My arms are still very weak and look like bags of skin and bone, but I am working them out several times a day. Pain is not so bad, I've now reduced my ibupropen intake, was getting worried about how many I was consuming. I even tried asprin, but didn't have any effect.
Looks like the salt/c regimin worked for me, or rather IS working for me.

Dec 2nd, how time flies!! Just for the record, I am still improving daily! Before I get out of bed I exercise each leg/knee with "bicycle" pedalling exercises. This morning showed a marked increase in mobility of my right knee, the troublesome one! It is a lot freer than yesterday! I was getting worried I may have permanent damage to the joint, but it now feels like I may have been premature in my thinking. I am noticing small daily changes to my hands and wrists, although I still cannot close my fingers to form a fist yet and cannot do much where I could use my hands to do much. Holding a knife and fork is a juggling exercise still!! The pains in my shoulders are easing a lot, upper arm tendons are no where near as tender anymore.
I am eating a lot better too, in fact I get hungry now!!!
I am still doing a three days on two off with the 12 hour Salt/C regemin, which I attribute to my getting well. Also on multi vitamin and mineral suppliments, been on those for years.

Farmerjohn, Where are you? I've been following your progress. You haven't posted lately, hope you are OK? Judy Sorry about that Judy, yes fine here and still on the road to recovery. I'm able to stay on my legs for most of the day, I still have some stiffness in the knees, a tendon or two gets sore now and again. My hands are still pretty stiff, but I am getting use back and not much pain from them now. My upper arms are still bothering me, the tendons still hurt in my biseps and shoulders are still paining me. I've dropped down to three days on the regimin and four days off, I have increased my normal intake of salt in my normal diet! Mainly because I can't taste the food without loads of salt in it, must be addicted to salt now!! LOL My appetite is back, I do get hungry now!! Don't get me wrong!! I have a long way to go yet, it's a very slow recovery, I'm working hard to get back to normal, I'm exercising my arms several times a day, I do "bicycling" exercises on my legs while on my back in bed to ease my knees. I'll drop back more often as I progress to recovery. Merry Christmas all!!

I am wondering if the salt regime has brought on severe symptons for anyone...I am having the symptons I had before I progressed......I am on day 2 of the salt vitamin c....I am using regular table salt....these things are coming out of me in an enormous amount and it is very painful to say the least....when I took my shower this morning I bet I had 15-20 black specks plus some larger black things(mushy like things) with a hair or leg visible on each one....very large specimans compared to the black specks.....these have become part of my ever-growing specimens....I thought I saw a light colored small worm wiggling but it escaped down the drain....one of these black things had a clear gel around them--this is getting more terrifying as it goes on......this salt is driving them out but it horrifies me about the amount-I wonder how much more of these parasites are in me--I will keep this up,as painful as it is--if I know that this will eventually get rid of them--but how long will it take? ??Please advise.....I was in a restaurant today and I felt so alone as one was biting me on my back....what a horrifying plague!

I am on day 2 of the salt vitamin c....I am using regular table salt.... Valerie: I sent you some extra info on the salt/c - to the email address you have listed on the members list. Don't use regular table salt. Regular table salt is VERY bad for you. Don't do salt/c unless you read the instructions. SIGN UP FOR THE EMAIL LIST: Lymestrategies - read instructions first. This is part of the email you will receive after you sign up -----> " . . . As a new members, BE SURE TO READ #1: "Welcome To The Board!" Then read Links #2-13. This will answer many of your basic questions, including a "how to" page as regards the protocol. You can read all the links too, of course, and we recommend that as well - knowledge is power! - but these are particularly recommended when first joining to give key information and answer frequently asked questions. . . " The address of the board is: groups.yahoo.com/group/lymestrategiesRead the instructions first, otherwise, you aren't really doing salt/c. Using table salt is very bad. QH

Yes, only use sea salt!! I didn't have many parasites exit my skin, I've been lucky in that respect, I did get one come out of my neck, just wished my hands were not so stiff so as I could have hung on to it. I tried to get it on a microscope slide but lost the little bugger! I think I have had others though as when I have felt an itch and scratched it felt like them.
I'm still slowly improving, the emphasis is on SLOW! I'm not waking up in the morning half as stiff as I was.
My knees are bothering me again, but in an odd way, the tendons feel "tight", a symptom of healing??
Fingers are still fairly stiff, but rarely cause me pain anymore and some days I can almost clench my fists!
For the first time since taking ill over three months back, I don't have shoulders or upper arm tendons hurting me! Thats how I woke this morning! Although now, 1-23pm, my left shoulder is bothering me.
One last point, I lost a dog with this nasty disease three weeks back, he just gave up eating totally and wasted away! I read dogs respond better than we do to antibiotics, so I was giving him a 300cc tetracycline shot daily. But he wouldn't eat anything. You could hear his jaw "clicking" as he was drinking water, so I assume he was in severe jaw pain.. He showed all the classic symptoms canines show to Lyme...

HI John~~ I have been searching around -- and doing a lot of reading about sea salt -- and found this very easy to read explanation of Himalyan sea salt: www.mercola.com/forms/salt.htmYou may already be using it, but thought I'd add it for those who read this post too. I found another interesting discussion about water -- its vibrational exchange with the human body, plants, etc. If your interested, I'll dig up the site and post for you to read. Its a bit long, but it was sent to me by my Doc. life

Water is a very important ingredient to staying healthy. Most don't drink enough daily, and usually only drink chlorine/flouride laden water which is worse than no water at all. I'm lucky, I'm on my own well water from the Ozarks Aquifier, mine comes up from over 500 feet down!
I use ordinary sea salt from the store, nothing special, but it tastes and is different from the mined variety. Sun dried and no addatives.

OK, lets get this straight! This has not been all plain sailing! I get depressed! I was nearly ready to take a gun and blow my brains out early on in the illness. I have a high tolerance to pain, but even this pain was too much for me! A few days ago, yes even at this stage! i was outside and prayed for him upstairs to take me, depression! Today I've had a real bad day, my right knee has bothered me, yet yesterday both knees felt real good, almost healed!!! My shoulders ache like hell today together with my upper arms, BUT this must be the exercise's I'm doing to increase my upper arm strength. I'll give anyone encouragement if they need it and I know you will need it!

Farmerjohn, I hear you. I've had this for about 12 years and have thought about death so many times. When I am wanting to die, what I am really wanting is help and to get better, but if I have to continue to live with this awful disease, then I would rather die. Then, I will think about different things I could do; more salt & c, a different supplement, etc, and it gives me hope. I think we all live on hope.
When you're feeling bad, just remember, we don't know what tomorrow will bring. If we can, we should try to stay around and find out cause there is always hope. Tomorrow will be better.
I do care and really hope you are having a better day.
I like hearing about your progress. It may be slow, but from your posts you do seem to be improving.

Thanks Judy, yes it's hard! I can trace my symptoms back over ten years so we are about the same with this nasty disease.
I am getting better and feeling a lot better, each day brings more relief. There are two glands either side of the saliva glands, for many years they were pretty swollen, I never thought much about them, then yesterday I was rubbing my chin, they were gone!! I think they are lymph glands, could they have been swollen because I was infected with Lyme?? I tend to think so now, so maybe I have rid myself of the bacteria and am now on the "repair" cycle?
My knees and legs feel better each day, less problems etc, although they do stiffen towards the end of the day, but not as bad as a couple of months back.
My arms are a mess, I'm doing my best to build them back up again, but it's slow building muscle tissue up and bloody painful too!! I got the wife to rub "Deep Heat" into them last night and to massage them for me.... OOOOOOO how great it felt!
I have to get back to 90% fitness by spring, I have so much work thats backed up on me. Most too heavy for this feeble body to tackle yet.
I think I'm over the depression state now, hopefully!! Just another nasty symptom of this dreadful illness.

Just an afterthought, but I started a "maintenance" salt/C last week, was almost through a second day when I was feeling like I had high blood pressure. I checked it and nearly fell through the floor!! Top figure was well over 200! I ceased the salt straight away, within a few hours it had dropped again. So looks like now I'll have to wait until I'm fit enough for rigourous exercise before I can attempt any more high salt intake.

That's a pity about the blood pressure. Maybe you need to go with another brand of salt with all the minerals in and unprocessed. I hope you find a way that helps without the health risk. I was interested to read about the progress you were making. Regarding depression one thing that I know has helped me is Omegas with the highest EPA content. It makes a huge difference.

Hannah, the depression was caused by the 24 hour pain, after weeks of it it just got the better of me. The pain is tolorable now, but still a nuisance.
As I now know I've had this for over ten years, I was wondering why it was only this year it became "full blown"? After all, it is nasty and from what I've read most secumb to it right away, so I was asking myself why did I only get sore wrists, hands I couldn't use for a couple of weeks one time, then another time knee problems, then another time real sore shoulders and upper arms?? etc..
The answer could be my immune system may have been knocked down with lead poisoning! I have been taking many vitamins, mineral suppliments and herbal suppliments for years. Colds and flu with me, that is WHEN I get them only last a few days to one week, my immune systen is usually capable of handling them.
Here is what I think allowed Lyme to take over.
We have been living in a travel trailer for over seven years until we had the money to build a house. We had live pressure" water from our well through garden hoses during the none frosty months to the trailer. During summer I drink gallons of water, tea etc, all straight from this hose thats sitting in the sun!
I found out lead is used to stabilize garden hose pvc and the lead content can exceed 400% EPA recommended levels for lead, in fact garden hoses should NOT be used for potable water!
So for over seven years I've been loading my system up with lead.
Seems a reasonable assumption the lead lowered my immune system and allowed the Lyme bacteria to take over??

Whoa~~
FarmerJohn -- than you so much for the site. Its great. Makes me happy to see they're taking a step into our direction.
Unfortunately, we Morg sufferers may have to get to be as many numbers to be recognized.
Hope you figure out your blood pressure.
Have you thought of things like Capsicum, and also a couple of grams of vitimin C taken with a gram of L-lysine? Also, English doctors have perscribed (for abut 20 years now) Hawthorne?
Can't take any of the above if you are on blood thinners, because THEY are blood thinners. MY doc has dedicated a couple of decades to blod clotting, and he uses vitimin C in fairly high doses thoroughout the day. Some on this board would say not to do it -- but, as a doctor of many decades, he should know.
Perhaps you could lower the salt, but keep the C high and add the L-lysine. If you want, I find the video on line that explains the late Dr. Lynus' findings concerning this simple combinations.
Also, my doc showed me a study done by the AMA, in which 1200 mg of garlic was given to patients with clogged arteries. After one year, their arteries were nolonger clogged!
Hope some of this helps.

OK I'm still around and kicking, just didn't want to bore you all with repetitive posts. I'm still recovering, getting stronger each day and almost walking normally now, hardly a limp at all, although I can feel my knees have a long way to go yet!
My fingers are no longer swollen, although the tendons are real tight, I cannot form a "fist" yet, I keep working them to free them up on and off most of the day. I am building upper arm tissue back up and they are starting to get stronger, I can lift a few pounds once again. I've been stacking firewood to exercise my upper body and it's working. I am still taking large doses of vitamin C, but refraining from salt until I dare get some rigerous exercise, I do do a fair amount of walking, but due to fears of falling and either not being able to get up, or hurting myself, just stick to the long driveway we have here. Eventually, when I feel secure I'll walk around my property, plenty of steep hills and I can get a couple of miles in daily.
Pain?? Some, mostly aches now from exercise, but nothing like I was in a few weeks back.. Thank God!
