I suffer from Lyme and am doing research for a book.
I'm taking a poll and would love to know your profession and age if possible.
Would especially love to hear from journalists and media types.
Thanks!
Chris

Chris! Terrific! You are the credible resource that will help to untangle the confusion and differentiate the Lyme and Morgellons patients from sufferers of conditions that are possibly genetic.
Since, the psychiatric profession doesn't seem to screen for Lyme, I for one, was getting the diagnosis for inherited major depression... the medication never felt right, although it perked me up enough to semi-function. Desperate as I was to hold on to my little house, transporation auto and MY KIDS, I was grateful to have atleast the little crutch to carry on, but what an expense! Soon I was off of it due to lost insurance, then what? and I knew all while I was on it that -- My brain was still not doing what I was sure it still could! If only they would screen for lyme before putting patients on long courses of antidepressants, etc. As ineffectual as the meds often are. I read that one-half of the patients housed in psychiatric facilities in Europe are now suspected to have Lyme Disease.
What a wonder, the Diflucan for Lyme has been working great for concentration, memory, and seems to be making other supplements work better. I did test positive for Lyme 1:64 in April of 2005, with Bowen Research. This is still preliminary results for me, so haven't wanted to post a bunch until I have better basis to say what my experience with the Diflucan has been.
Anyway, I am glad there is an open-mind out there in the psychiatric profession, but sorry for the suffering.
Some of this just seems to be in the plan. So welcome to the group.

SO many people are suffering from this and the government doesn't care. We are taking matters into our own hands
I am a Degreed Paralegal and my sisters are college educated professionals. (Dental Hyg. and nursing/computer specialties). My mother was a legal secretary for most of her life. Our ages are 45, 43 and 40 respectively. I am the youngest. My mother is 64.

Chriss~~
I'm happy to hear you are taking this on.
According to one of the directors I spoke with @ Morgellons, it is predominantly teachers and nurses with the ratio being either1 :3 or 1:4 -- I forget which.
Just looking back at your post. If you find a similar preponderance in this survey -- it would then be interesting to see how many may drive a truck now, but had taught for 7 years.
And why. Is there a connection.
Just a thought. life

I am 33, and I work at one the most hated retail stores in the World as a Sales Associate in Electronics Dept., LOL!!! Still in Southern CA I origionally had worked as an IT Techie for a few years or so, but have worked Alot in restaurants and food stores in the past, along with Building Maintenance for 1 1/2 years at a Hotel which also leased Apts in East Side Milwaukee a few blocks from Lake Michigan, and grew up on the South Side of Milwaukee, WI. Man, that Hotel/Apt. building I worked at had roaches that WAY outnumbered the people staying there....it was SO bad that when I opened a hallway panel one time, they were literally crawling all over each other and scared the heck outta me like something out of a movie. That was one freaky moment, I can still remember how fast I had to replace the panel cover. The bad thing was I Had to actually live there for a while - as I was a young man and had to move from Mom's house pretty sudden after we had a "living situation disagreement"...LOLOL!!!! Ok, I'll quit babbling....lol...talk to ya all later, Peace!! TonyM

Not sure if I count since I haven't tested positive for Lyme, but for the record, I'm 55/female and a medical transcriptionist.
