I was on a "new"(think its 1yr but my pharmacist said that's considered brand new so not sure what new really means). The script was called in and when I went to pick it up it was flagged that pharm wanted to review it w/me. The name is Noxafil- now I concede up front that my immediate thought was perverse delight at the visions the name evoked(as in oooh that sounds like it'll kill alot of stuff)! I asked him if it had a scull and crossbones on it and he said "nah, but I thought about slapping a Mr Yuk on it. In less than 2 wks, I had a whole new level of weird symptoms. I will not believe Im cured until a)there is proof positive identification and b)when I am symptom free longer than I had it. My instinct tells me "it" has hijacked a virus. At the very least, it has had noticeable impact on the cold sores I USED to get. I dont know whats wrong w/me- I feel like Im gonna sound like a bad infomercial "You too can be symptom free"!! I fell for that claim waaay too often. So with that in mind, I will say this drug has changed "something". I wanna ask your opinion about the weirdest thing. In less than 2wks I got multiple small bruises that turned into what looked like fat blood blisters. Weird part- I had one on ankle and stretched foot to put shoe on- my ankle got one of those fluttery tics and felt like ice was on it. I swear I didnt touch it--it popped out. Do cysts do that? When I got it off my foot, it was reddish purple and squishy. I put it on tissue and went to get empty script bottle to put it in alcohol. I was back in minutes.and it had turned black and looked like a piece of charred wood and disintegrated in the alcohol. I had 73 of them in 7 wks. I was leaning over tub to rinse hair and my scalp felt tight - like when you pour real cold water on it . Then scalp "loosened" and 3 came out my nose- nose did NOT bleed. They were largest- like a marble on steroids ;D It was the last time I felt or saw a single symptom but time will tell, ya know? After some of the stuff I took- well no way can I believe that it could be over just like that.

So you're saying this "noxafil" has taken your symptoms away? Wouldn't that be a miracle! Can you please tell me what it's prescribed for in the first place? Thanks for sharing and I just love it when someone gets results from something. How long have you had morgs and how long have you been symptom free since taking the stuff? (and are you still taking it?)

This is interesting. It follows your (Vivi) belief that there is a fungal component to Morgellons. One question. Was Lyme disease ever ruled in or out by the physician who thought that might be an infection you have?

General Information
Noxafil (posaconazole) is a triazole antifungal agent. It blocks the synthesis of ergosterol, a key component of the fungal cell membrane, through the inhibition of the enzyme lanosterol 14a-demethylase and accumulation of methylated sterol precursors.
Noxafil is specifically indicated for the prophylaxis of invasive Aspergillus and Candida infections in subjects, 13 years of age and older, who are at high risk of developing these infections due to being severely immunocompromised.

Wow. That is great to hear!!!
I know that TamTam had that as a recommendation on his website. It is pretty expensive though.
I am glad to hear you feel as well as you do. Please keep us posted.

vivi, great news, I hope it holds.
jwf, I had good results about a year ago when I took the Cumnda herb from Peru. It is also sold as an anti-fungal. Really helped my eye symptoms and urinary stuff. I know that one phase of Lyme (Borrelia berg.) acts like a fungi.

Great news Vivi! If one of us is symptom free from something an MD can prescribe, then there is hope for the rest of us. Now if we can just get this news across to the MDs.

This sounds great but it's like about $600 from Canada even.
How did you get it prescribed and did insurance cover it?
That's just so wrong that a medicine should cost so much.

I'm with browncircles, how did you get your Doctor to prescribe it and do any insurance cover it that anyone knows of. It sounds very helpful. This sounds like it could help us with allot of symptom's, such as looking pregnant over 2 weeks a month, etc. my eyes are bad too (J), would be nice if it could be affordable and docs are willing to prescribe. More important, vivi the symptoms you have suffered I believe is big dye off and you probably herxed, I get little sticks out, well they just come out from anywhere, thus the wood looking thing after the alcohol. I know the times I thought I was really bad I experienced the head feeling exactly how you did, Mine was entering and yours had a exit ;D Still it is pretty scary no matter what we go though. I feel when I bruise and have not bumped anything that it is die off. They die they are not attached to your nose so no blood. I hope you keep getting good results and please keep us posted. Much love Always, ebgb
