Hello everyone thank you for your kind messages as you know I had this proceedure where they put a camera down my throat and one up into my bowel and intestines. It was GHASTLY but I won't dwell on that but some of you might be interested in what I saw on the monitor screen from the camera down below. It isn't very nice. I presume it was my bowel because the pain only started when they pushed the camera up into my intestines and then I was in agony. Well what I saw was white things about half an inch in size as thick as a knitting needle and moving as if they were swimming or crawling. I saw about a dozen of them I was horrified and asked what are those things that are moving. Well they must think that I am an idiot because they told me that it was water globules. I had had to purge myself the night before and all that I was passing at the finish was brown or yellow fluids NOT WATER there was nothing left inside me. I DID LEAK A LITTLE AND IT WAS BROWN. i AM SAYING THIS BECAUSE i AM UPSET AND ANGRY THAT THEY DIDN'T TELL ME WHAT THOSE THINGS WERE!!!! All I can think of is that they looked like maggots YUK YUK YUK. I am sure that some of you might have some suggestions as to what the wretched things are. I was amazed that there was anything left in my bowel but these things must have clung to the lining of the bowel. Once they pushed the camera higher the pain was so bad that I stopped looking and just squeezed the nurses hand as hard as I could. I don't know when I will get the results. I guess sometime next week. Hopefully they will come up with an awnser but the question is WILL THEY TELL ME THE TRUTH? I look forward to any input or any questions you would like to ask me. Once again it is such a Blessing to be on this board and have you all as my friends. Much much love and hugs to all. Roberta (Robbie)

Robbie,
I'm sure that was terribly painful, and you poor girl going through all that. I'm glad you're okay and that sure is something about what you saw, and what they said!
Can you ask them "on your followup" if you can have a picture of that, (those white things). They're your "file" and your pictures, so you really can get a copy of that I do believe.
Then if you are not satisified with what they tell you, you can possibly show it to another doctor?
That way possibly you can have another opinion.
It will be informative for you I think after you get a chance to talk with your doc on the followup to see exactly what they say, and ask too if that is normal? Or if they've ever seen that before too.
Big hugs, and glad you're back. Toni

Dear Robbie I am so sorry you had to experience such a painful procedure. I sure hope that they will come up with some answers for you! Look on the thread titled "SORRY!!" written by Vivi. I am wondering if what you saw could be what her doctors found....granulomas containing insect larvae !? I hope you are resting and feeling ok after your ordeal.

I'm so glad you're home. Well, there is one good thing about America. They put you to sleep when they do this procedure, but you wouldn't have gotten to see the "maggots." Too bad they couldn't have grabbed one of them on their way out. Best luck for a speedy recovery.
Love, freaky

robertalouise, my heart goes out to you, and hope you are feeling better I'm sure Kyra will make you feel better, You know about a week ago I passed something about the size of what you are talking about. I put it under the scope and broke it up and to me it looked like a bunch of larva, shaped like sesame seeds. I know it's very gross, but I would do what Toni suggested ..get the picture it's yours !!!! When I broke my ankle i asked my doctor for my xrays and he gave it to me. So it's your right and you might have to show another doctor who knows. good luck ps mine didn't swim so maybe we are talking about two different things. Hope you find out !! BEST WISHES , massena

Dear Maseena thank you very much for your kind words. I am sooooo stupid but i was very very groggy I SHOULD HAVE ASKED FOR THOSE PICTURES OFF THE MONITOR. I am technophobic would they be able to print those out? Or would they just send a written report to my G.P. OFF COURSE I SHOULD HAVE ASKED THEM FOR A COPY!!!!! WHAT AN IDIOT I AM!!!!!!!!!!!!! But on my word of honour I KNOW WHAT I SAW and it was sickening and DISGUSTING!!!!! and trying to tell me that it was water globules!!!! I will try as hard as I can to get the pics. I have a new G.P. that I haven't meant the results will be sent to her. I think that I am meant to wait for her to contact me with the results. I can remember the first name of the very nice male nurse who attended me (Thomas) I will try and contact him and ask how I go about getting them. They are not open today (Friday) Thank you soo much for your post. Love and best wishes. Roberta.

robbie, i had a tooth pulled that had split down thru the roots.
i asked for the tooth that was pulled (he had to quarter it)
he said "no, it is biohazard material".
i walked in with it.....................it then became a biohazard product?
i asked my friend who had a tooth pulled. her dentist gave it to HER.
you can write a request (snailmail) for the images to be printed and mailed to you,
and/or ask if they will forward through the e-mail. i'm sure i wouldn't have
thought to ask at the time, either.
when i get my records, i usually do not let them know i am coming, then i lie
and say my doctor asked me to pick them up before our next appointment.
if the dr. requests them, there is no charge........if you request them, they
will charge you so much $ a copy page.

Dear Ruth I don't think that they charge for them over here. You have me wondering. I have had a few broken bones over my body and have always been given the xrays and I wasn't charged for them. If I have to pay for them I will. It is pay day next Tuesday I just hope it isn't too much as I have the rent and power bill to pay BUT I WANT THOS PICS FOR ALL OF US!!!!!!!!!!!! i AM SURE THAT SOMEONE ON THE BOARD WILL BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY THEM i WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST TO YOU ALL that you do a bowel cleanse regularly. Because of the state of my bowel it does it of its own accord. wHEN i GET THE RESULTS i WILL WASTE NO TIME IN LETTING YOU ALL KNOW THE RESULTS. LOVE TO ALL. ROBBIE

ROBERTA - Glad it is over with. Regarding getting a copy of it -- Did they record a FILM of it or just take photos ? If they filmed it, they would have to find the spot where what you saw was and take photos of them - but if they think they are water globules they would not even think to take photos of them because they feel that is unimportant. See what I mean ? If they give you the whole film, I don't know if you could get someone to take still photos of the particular parts you want. Is it possible that the the moving white things were actually the way bits of water in the intestines would look like - and the movement could be it squooshing around ? I believe that they sure could be maggots but I thinking that it is possible that it is what they thought.
The other thing is that if they KNEW that it was maggots, they probably would not want to tell you for fear of upsetting you. If they are maggots or whatever parasite, I would lean towards that they really did not know and thought it was water bits.
But most doctors are world-class morons. So sorry, Roberta, that you are dealing with all this. I hope they do yeild some productive answers to help you.
Much love,
Liatris

Robbie, have an idea that might help, I just don't have the (high speed) capabilities to check it out myself. I have seen the imaging you speak of for colonoscopies while watching Dr. OZ (I think). He showed a healthy colon versus a diseased one. There was some white inside there for both. Don't know if what you observed was higher up or not. If we knew the exact name of your procedure maybe there is something on UTube we could compare your descriptions to that might help.

Yes, that's a great idea JJ. And Robbie, if you can find out exactly what part it is (on the pic) then we'll look and see what we can find for a comparrison, which might help you see "what's what"....since we're all pre-med here, hahaha ;D sure feels that way anyways.
Heck some of us know how to perform critter removal surgically now with only a needle and milk! ;D
(I hope you chuckled on that one)

dear robbie
hoping u are continuing to feel better and better..agreeing with all re:copies of what ever they filmed---it is a patient's RIGHT to have copies of their medical records...or is that just a united states thing???
re: them telling u the truth.....that'll happen just as soon as pigs fly!!! it's a RARE physician who will come clean with the truth.....i've seen well over 60--no kidding--(cause for several years i used the E.R. as my primary/only care--sometimes 2 or 3 times a month) and i can count on 1 hand the doctors who called a spade a spade....and still have a couple of fingers left!!!....bummer....and some of them are still singing the same old song""M-O-R-...how do u spell it??.....never heard of it....what is it?...."i told the last one to get with the program cause the CDC is finally starting to look into it...so he needed to change his rap to "oh,yeah...i think i've heard something about that"..cause it would make him SOUND a little more professional--like he was abreast of what was happening in his chosen field...!!!
but maybe you'll luck out and get one of the good ones--i hope so--for all our sakes

Dear Heyjewde thank you so much for your post and kind wishes and advice I think that we are intitled to copies of our xrays. Now I am completely technophobic so you will have to help me. The pictures that were on the screen of my inside and I saw THE WRETCHED WHITE THINGS MOVING can that be printed out on to paper that I can post to someone on the board? It is no good if they send it to my computer because I do not have the means or nowhow of what to do with them. I did have a printer and microscope and speakers but gave them away because noone would show me how to work them. I WANT THEM AND I WANT TO HAVE THEM TO POST ON THIS BOARD FOR ALL TO SEE MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE AT THE MOMENT!!!!!!! I am so slow on the uptake I am still a bit wishy washy but I must inspect my dogs stools and see if she passess the same things. Since she was a pup she has been brought up on lots of garlic which is meant to kill worms and she also has cider vinegar, safflower oil and manuka honey which are all antibacterial agents. Yes yes I have encountered all the negatives for 12 years. Its skin or a bit of hair or a piece of fingernail a bit of dirt etc etc etc. I did have one G.P. who actually looked at the specimens that I took to her, she took one look shrugged her shoulders in horror and threw them into her rubbish bin asked me to take my arm off her desk and wiped it down with dettol!!!!! I then took a zip lock bag of residue that was left in the bath after I had bathed my dog. It was quite a big bag full of this gunk. The Vet took one look it and threw it in her rubbish bin!!!!!!!!!!!! But I am gong to pursue this as much as I can for all of use. I know the first name of the male nurse who was so kind to me but he said that they were water globules but I will try and find out from him if i can get prints. I also know the head receptionist at the medical centre where I go Allison.I have known her for about 20 years so I can ring and ask her how I can go about getting them. I hope and pray that I get the photo copies and then we might have something to go on. I got a letter in the mail this morning that I have another appointment at the hospital for Tuesday 17th June 9am for an Ultrasound Body-Upper Abdomen. I wonder if these things will show up on an ultra sound. Well I will be able to have a jolly good look because I don't think that there is any pain involved in this one. Thanks again so much for your post. Love and best wishes. Roberta.

Dearest Toni I am pretty sure that it was the bowel because it was quite large and no pain. The pain started when the Doctor pushed the camera up my intestines that was dreadful I couldn't have lifted my head off the pillow. I am absolutely sure that they were white half inch things as fat as a knitting needle all moving in different directions I couldn't tell wether they were swimming or crawling. If you put some pics of things up on the board I think that I could identify them. I am going to do my very best to get those pictures. Much love and hugs. Best wishes to Mr Toni. Robbie
