Are the fibers the actual hairs that we are all seeing. They look like human hair but coarser. Are they two separate things. I have been pulling massive amounts of those hairs off me lately. I probably did not notice them before because they look so like my own. Now I can definitely tell the difference.

TonyM,
Jenny can't really 'help' you... she's just an interested Microbiloigist who's daughter has this disease.
I'm from Texas but we are in California now trying to get some answers for my Cindy's condition. We're fighting on several fronts; UCSF. CPMC - both big 'medical research centers' (yeah...right).
If you're in California, Ginger Savely, NP, will be accepting new patients in San Francisco (one week per month). It ain't cheap - and they don't take any insurance, but at least Ginger knows that it's not in your head. And she's trying to find a treatment....
You should be getting an email update today or tomorrow (if you are registered with the MRF).
Peace & Health,
-Chas

Now I'm wondering, is it natural to have more than one strand of hair coming out of a single pore? I've noticed most of my life that alot of my hair is bound together in groups of up to three per pore on my head. I'm not a hairy guy but I do have a full and thick head of hair, except for a nickle sized bald spot on the back of my head of which I never really knew how I aquired but have had for what seems like forever.
