Ok, I started on Bactrim and cipro a month ago. After two weeks I noticed I couldn't go to the bathroom. I bought some milk of mag. and that seemed to help. Ok, another week goes by, but this time I have pain, the bent over in pain kind. I went to the hospital and they did a cat scan with dye and said I had a lot of Poop. Seriously, that is what they said. She said the dye would probaby give me diareah, so I didn't think much about it. But it didn't at all. So I have been trying 4oz of milk of mag. prune juice, and called my gyn and got mirilax which made my pain worse. Now I am scared, I feel like I'm never going to go again. I have had stomach problems before with morg. but never like this. Has this happened to anyone else??? Can anyone tell me how to get this out before I get really sick? I have no Dr at the time, as they have all abandoned me as a nut job. My gyn insists I should take the miralax, but it causes so much bloating and gas which gets trapped also. My pharmacist said to stop it and I don't know what else to do. Can anyone help??

About all that I can add is that the MOM should have worked---I can understand your consternation as I have been there---Quit eating solid food--drink warm water--and take a walk around the block a few times. Did you have problems like this when you were a child? Some times the small intestine gets twisted.. Lay on your back with your feet and body at a 25° angle -head lowest. then lay flat and roll over a few times--some times the exercise is enough--NO more bulk formers--you got enough down there as is--stay on liquids for a while--if it don't alleviate soon you could have an intestinal obstruction.

Orion, my stomach problems started with Morgellons. It was one of my first areas of problem, but I have never had this. I feel like there is a bowling ball in the middle of my stomach. They have to be parasites, as any obstruction would have shown up in the cat scan I would think. I am up early to take another 4oz of mom with a big glass of water on an empty stomach. I haven't had any big meals for a long time anyway. I have eliminated sugar, and mostly all fat from my diet the past few months. I was wondering if the adding of the abx could be the reason, but still it shouldn't be this bad. I was wondering if I did a colon cleanse if that would hurt or help? It would hurt if I took it and for whatever reason nothing came out. Thanks for the warm water idea and rocking back and forth, that will be painful, but worth a try. I should have remembered that from when my kids were babies.

Back in the seventies when the doctors were trying to "cure" me, they'd put me on an antidepressant and I would get stopped up. They'd take me off after it didn't work, I'd just be getting back to normal and they'd try another one. Bam, problems would return. I still get those painful cramping, sweating episodes and I dread them but it usually means relief is on the way so I have come to welcome them also.
This process has gone on ever since and it's still the same with me, only I never feel constipated. I just know that I've taken in more than is coming out. I also know that a lot of other medications can do this, not just antidepressants and antibiotics.......pain pills are famous for stopping us up too.
Try what Orion has suggested, as often exercise is enough to get it started. As a last resort, you could purchase a bottle of the magnesium citrate that we have to drink to clean us out before procedures. It's horrible-tasting stuff but it will work and costs about a buck at the drug store.
You might want to read the story by Dr. Virginia Sherr who is/was suffering from Lyme disease. She had the same problem and I don't think her doctors ever figured out why it was happening.
I personally think it's the bacteria invasion of our intestines and stomach (and possibly an invasion of another type), which is why I have so many other problems in those areas. But it could also be something not related to our disease at all so you might want to consider an Ultrasound or even a colonoscopy, just to be on the safe side. They are wanting to do this with me and I guess I will be scheduling it soon, ack!
Best of "relief" to you!

When you take the MOM put it in an 8oz. glass of water and drink all at once. It should work. The water gets it working. It will liquidify it. I have had this before too.

Constipated - First of all... get a new call sign (he he kidding). Now seriously, and most importantly, get that out of your bod pronto! No one with this stuff can afford to be constipated and should go once a day (minimum). Obviously, you would if you could and this is why you're writing for suggestions. This would be mine... because you need fast elimination right away... go get a fleet enema disposable. This is not good to use often but at least it gets things moving out from that area down right away and the longer you wait for ingestible stuff is a longer time for toxins to reek havoc. You asked about doing a colen clense... HECK YEAH! Everyone on this board should be required to (teasing), but there's truth in jest. You can get a daily maintenance type of colon cleanse that has fiber such as physlem husk and/or flax seed, and acidophilus, etc. take that everyday and water water water.... and more water! I'd also get some colace (stool softener) to take at first until you get things moving (but don't take regularly as your colon will start to get lazy and dependent).
I'd do four things immediately: (go to store now and do not pass go... that's how impt I think this is) 1. buy fleet enema (use today) 2. buy daily maintenance colon cleanse (take daily) 3. buy stool softeners (take first couple days) 4. Once you've had a few movements then make an apt to have a colonic (which won't be painful and cramping if your're a bit more normal for a few days preceding it). Okay five things... force water (set a timer if you need to drink even if you are not thirsty), we are used to drinking only when we are thirsty, but we need to drink it regardless. Also... if you up your intake of vitamin C (and salt too), this will help a lot. It's a misnomer that salt only makes you retain water... if you are lacking it then you actually retain more.
Some may see this as bad advice (especially the enema and stool softeners), but whateva... I'm just sayin what I'd do in "the now" of the situation. I see it as the lessor of two evils... constipation being the more evil. No wait! Three evils... Morgellons being moreso. Anyway, for what it's worth...
Sincerely, DOCP Unplugged ...they don't call me "unplugged" for nothin! (teasing, means I'm not logged in, but by all means... take it as a pun).

Patti--my experiance in the begining was bloody constpoation--it came so hard I would bleed-- I did a colon clense in april and my problems ceased right away--but they are coming back. Abx will certainly cause constipation--I counter with Beni fiber and lots of probiotics-- I used to give myself an enima with a syringe of 100% alovera gel--lubs up very nice and acts a whole lot like a glycerin supository. This situation can turn into a horror story---I have learned to never hold back when I have to go...A toxic colon can interfere with parastilic action-==the natural movement of the bowel that moves the---cool---forward. Will this illness plug you up--YES--will abx plug you up--yes---will a diet short on soluable fiber plug you up--yes. Drink lots of water and walk fast-LOL

And one more thing--if you start throwing up it could signal a blockage which means a ride to the emergency room at 90 mph.

All of this is really good advice and I sure hope that it will work for "Constipated". For immediate relief (but occasional use), the fleet enema normally works for people but we aren't all that normal, no offense intended. It never works for me, nor does the stool softeners, but then I'm farrrrrrr from normal. But I'll look into the colon cleanse again......was told years back by my Lyme doc not to do those very often but he turned out not to be that informed on the disease so I'll take another look. I drink about 100-oz. of water daily and you'd think that would help a lot but guess not.....refer back to my "normal" statement. I also eat lots of fiber though it usually gives me the painful episodes without relief....go figure. The fiber powders that are out now are good but you MUST remember to drink lots of water, as Orion has warned. If not, they will back up into your throat and choke you. I already have enough problems with swallowing and such, so really heed his advice on this one. FWIW.....I have had several doctors now tell me that being backed up is not all that harmful, even though my average span is two weeks. I just can't believe this would be good for anyone but this is what I've been told. I suppose if one is healthy and it only happens occasionally they might be right. But with me, it's a regular routine.....about every two weeks (or longer). This can't be good for anyone! Thanks so much for all your input on this. I suspect many are having the same problems but might be too embarrassed to bring them up so this is a good thing.
