Back in 2002 / 2003 when I worked for an ob/gyn office, women who got this had to have them customized after they had lab work done? Maybe things have changed. The labs were sent to a company that made them "specific" for each woman based on her hormone levels from labs. Sorry, Can't remember the name of the company, but it was a mail order and at the time, only a few companies were compounded these custom made hormones. The best book is called "Screaming to be heard" by Elizabeth Vliet who explains hormones, thyroid, vitamins and all that so understandably. She is a MD who wrote the book for women so they would know what to ask their MD's. She very clearly discusses the bioidentical hormone issue too and where you can get them and what labs are/should be done so they match your particular hormone needs. If you check it out from the Library be sure to get the Newest edition. There is new one since 2002.

Thanks Kmarie Ive been on these horomones several years now but not sure I want to pay for my annual GYN visit for a renewal prescription. i have a compounding pharmacy send my pills every month. Its a little over 30 dollars I pay And ive also had the saliva tests for hormones, my estrogen was low but havent had that done in a while. But after researching the net the prices are so much higher and quality is questionable so I may as well bite the bullet and go to my GYN I havent read that book but have been reading Suzzane Summers bookbreakthrough 8 steps to wellness . She advocates these kins of hormones also and beat breast cancer while still taking them. I still get hot flashes though so somethings off After reading up on bio indenticle hormones Im convinced they are the right and healthy thing for me and am afraid to go off them!

I heard bits and pieces of this interview the other day. Suzanne Somers is an advocate in areas alot of us can relate. Bioidenticle hormones is one of them, avoidance of chemicals and pharmacueticles as well. Also found use of tumeric to combat radiation interesting too. Her book Breakthrough~8 Steps to Wellness looks like a good read. You can access the interview (video) here: Suzanne Somers: Cut the Pharmacy Cord www.cbn.com/700club/guests/interviews/Suzanne_Somers031109.aspxYou may also find more of the info your looking for from her website as well as more interviews. Larry Kings interview is good too. www.suzannesomers.com/JJ

OOPSE .......... sorry Frisky I was rushed and just read your first post Now that I checked back I see that you were already reading her book. What do you think about the whole book? I was working on the puter when the 700 club interview was going on and it caught my attention enough to look further. Than what do you know ....... you were already talking about her book. Strange how things happen some times. Thanks, Kmarie for your contribution too. There's been talk about this hormone therapy in my area as well . That time is approaching soooooo I'm considering this route too. JJ

JJ Thanks I just looked at her interview! There goes the law of attraction again!LOL ;D I still haven't finished her book. I read a few pages every night . I think its a great book but realistically its not for the average person like me who doesnt have few extra hundred dollars for all these supplements and injections each month. Th great thing about her book is you can go to the end of each chapter and get a summery of what was written..great tool for someone like me with brainfog You could go to a bookstore and browse the summerys at the end of each chapter and decide yourself if its worth buying. Yes its a great book so far but she goes to the extreem, and cant blame her since she had breast cancer! Personally i dont think she needs to take so many supplements . i forget how many a day it is but something crazy amount she takes everyday.

I just had my annual with my GYN last week and she gave me an estadial patch for the hot flashes on top of estriol and progesterone that I take orally. Its only helped a little so far for the hot flashes but the weird thing is Im having these crazy vivd dreams at night that wake me up several times a night My libido seems the same during the day but at night Ive been having these crazy sexual dreams every night and even orgasiming in my dreams.! Yeah I know way too much imformation! ;D but I think its interesting enough to take note of and post! Its got to be the estradiol nothing else has changed! Its fun but I wake up kind of exhausted ;D
