Transgenic plants can also be used to produce plastics or other materials traditionally synthesized artificially. For example, in 1997, scientists at Agracetus in Wisconsin reported that they had produced cotton plants that were genetically altered to fill the hollow middle of their cotton fibres with a small amount of plastic polyester called polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB). These novel plants had been developed using Biolistics. So far, the yield of PHB is not very high, but Agracetus claims that cotton fabric woven from these cotton-polyester hybrids retains 8.6 percent more heat. The scientists also plan to insert other, more complex forms of PHB, polymers from other plants, and keratin (the protein that makes up human hair) which could help the novel cotton retain heat, a snipet from an article that caught my eye. Here we have cotton, plastic and human hair. Just one of many examples of the genetic tinkering going on. Isnt anything sacred to these people? from www.rocw.raifoundation.org/biotechnology/BTechbiotech/scopeofbiotech/lecture-notes/Bt_BtechSemII_ScopeofBiotech_L36.pdf

It late and I'd like to read the article, however; what you posted tells me plenty and I absolutely agree with you. MY goodness, Isn't ANYTHING sacred? ( like you stated )
Really now .... combining the Keratin and polymers with cottons PLANTS!
Thank you imblownaway for this info!
But no thanks to the Genetic Engeneering Scientist who are going to ruin this planet.
It's like a meat loaf......once you mix the ingredients up, you can't EVER take it back. I can't remove too much salt from my meatloaf! It will just suck.
Genetic Engineering Sucks too and we don't seem to have a say. There have been plenty of groups of people trying to stop it, but MONEY talks.

K-marie I had no idea this was such a big business until i started googling transgenic plants. Its called bioplastics using different plants. Our plastic bags we use in the grocery stores are made from plant material so that it is more biodegradable which is good but to actually modify the plant genes to grow it is also being done. check this out. I don't know if it has anything to do with morgellons or not but sense agrobacterium was found in morgellons peoples skin and thats what they use to modify plants. I think its worth looking into. from the link Plants have been used for centuries as medicines - now genetically modified plants can produce plastic, skin tissue agents and human blood proteins. tinyurl.com/ba889u

tinyurl.com/dl47wvfrom link An even newer development is the integration of biotechnology with other disciplines such as information and computer technology and materials science. This approach is producing novel products like ‘biosensors’, which provide physical objects with the sensory capabilities of living things, and ‘gene chips’ in which many thousands of DNA fragments are attached to a chip for rapid screening of genetic characteristics. me- hmmm biosensors which provide physical objects with the physical capabilities of living things. hmmm my hair seems to have this capability. Yes its the biotech revolution. But who is screening us? OMG this makes me mad. All this messing with mother nature and we cant even get proper testing!! another snipit from the link ‘vaccine-banana’. This technology may be of value to countries without ready access to conventionally produced drugs and allow them to homegrow their own medicines. Drugs could also be isolated from GM plants in a way similar to that with bacteria. Transgenic plants are also being used as ‘chemical factories’ to produce compounds of use to industry, such as the short chain fatty acid, lauric acid, which is used in soaps and detergents, or erucic acid which is used as an industrial lubricant, or plants to make biodegradable plastics. me- if i understand this right then we are already using this stuff in our shampoos and soaps. I think Grady mentioned this.

Yes, I remember that post by grady with the shampoo. This is all terrible
There is a good book called "THE biotech Century" by Jeremy Rifkin whichi I read at the begining of this disease and he revealed so much that made us "test lab rats".

This is so sad. I see that this subject is in the other threads. I am just amazed at what is going on. Most people assume that what we are being sold is safe. amazed no more like angry. Anyway i see you are aware of the explotation thats going on.
