My ex-boyfriend (we still love each other tho) isn't well and can no longer work.
He lost his son to suicide and did what alot of us would do in the same situation. He lost all control, he just couldn't bear the pain of it. He started doing drugs, taking pills, you name it. He wanted to die too... and I couldn't help him. He didn't want help either... I finally had no choice but to leave.
Then one day his daughter told him if he didn't stop, he would lose her too. That was all it took. He became a Christian and got involved in his church. His life turned around... he had a great job, a new place to live, a new truck, and he was happy for the first time in years.
But he started having problems with his legs and the doctors didn't know what was causing it. It wasn't long before he couldn't work anymore. He lost everything he'd just worked so hard for and had no way to pay his rent. He moved into his mothers place. It took about 6 months before he finally had a diagnosis... he has Primary Progressive MS. It's bad... it never goes into remission and he can barely even stand now. But he's a fighter and he won't let go this time. He just amazes me you guys... he has this incredible amount of faith. I don't know if he even realizes how much he continues to teach me becuz of it too.
He even has a small place of his own again now up the canyon in Lake Hughes. But his daughter and her fiance are buying a home in Santa Clarita. It's gonna be one that will have accomadations for him too. As you can see, his daughter is pretty amazing herself! She just wants to take care of her daddy.
I didn't intend on writing all of that, but it just started coming out. You know me tho, that's how it usually goes! It just speaks volumes of he and his daughter both tho doesn't it? It's a good story despite the MS ya know? Alot of inspiration there.
Now the cool t-shirt part...
Even tho he can't work anymore, he wanted to do something with his life again. So he came up with an idea and started a website with his daughter. She does the artwork and he comes up with the sayings (I've done a little bit of the artwork too but not much.) I want to try and give him some business, so I'm posting the link to their website here. T-shirts, sweats, and hoodies are all they have so far, but it will grow into more as they go. The themes are mostly Christian messages... and you might just find you'd like to have one too!
