Hi. This is my first posting. I contracted Lyme's in 2000 but was diagnosed with it just 2 months ago. The last 5 or 6 years have been rough. I am currently on antibiotics and have an opportunity to have some hyperbaric oxygen therapy. I was wondering if anyone has had success with it. I would appreciate any advice or guidance in this area.
Any information at all would be very appreciated.
Thank you. God bless you. Bob

Welcome to the forum, Bob!
I don't personally know of anyone using HBOT either but have heard of others receiving great success with it.
Good luck to you and please let us know how it goes.

F.Y.I. triangle.dbusinessnews.com/shownews.php?newsid=113258&type_news=latest DBusinessNews (NC) The Carolina Center Discusses Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy on April 10th Triangle - RALEIGH, NC – March 28, 2007 – As part of his continuing health series, John C. Pittman, MD, of the Carolina Center for Integrative Medicine (CCIM), will present "An Introduction to Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy" on Tuesday, April 10th from 7:00-8:00PM. This free presentation will be held at CCIM's office at 4505 Fair Meadow Lane, Suite 111 in Raleigh. "Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy has been around since the middle of the 17th century, yet people still view this as a `futuristic' treatment," explains Carolina Center founder, Dr. John Pittman. "You'll hear Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy as `a therapy in search of disease'. The medical community is really in the early stages of realizing the potential effects that this therapy has on many chronic ailments. It's an exciting time." Historically, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) was used in the treatment of decompression sickness resulting from nitrogen gas bubbles forming in the blood when divers surfaced too quickly. Today, HBOT has been shown to be beneficial in treating such conditions as stroke, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Down's Syndrome, Autism, Crohn's Disease, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. During this 60-minute presentation, Dr. Pittman will discuss how HBOT is being used in the treatment of chronic viral infections (like Hepatitis and HIV), toxic mold exposure, Colitis and Crohn's Disease, and Macular Degeneration. Seating for this presentation is limited and advanced registration is required in case of cancellation. I started the hyperbaric oxygen therapy on Monday 4-2-07. Did this in a one person chamber that pressers up your entire body with pure oxygen. Did this two times a day for an hour. Went for five days then had two days off then did five more days, for a total of 20 times. The presser was 2.5 to 3.1 atmospheres with an average of about 2.65. Every day was different. The first day was just trouble getting my ears to pop or open up while in the chamber. The next day I woke up hurting all over like a flu virus but once I was back in the oxygen I felt better. Then each day from then on I would feel bad. Pain in legs, then neck, then hands and a few migraine headaches. The weekend came and the two days off were much needed. I was thinking about not going back but on Sunday night decided to go through with it. The next week was the same as the first but with a lot more neck pain and headaches. Now that I’m back home I have been fair. Had some herxing and brain fog at times. I’ve been taking hot baths to detox but need to do more. I have heard about the steam tents with oxygen & ozone but was not sure how good it works and was wondering if the infra-red saunas were better. If someone knows please tell me. If any one has any questions about my oxygen therapy, let me know. I just want to help anyone that I can. Over all I think I got a good kill off of the LYMES. Bob1955

Thank you so much for reporting back to us, Bob. We have wondered how the treatments were going and are very happy that you have some positive results.
Many here know about the saunas and will be responding soon, I'm sure. Good to have you back!

With the weekend coming up, I am hoping that you all will have time to let me know if steam tents with ozone or infra-red saunas are better. I am not sure of the pros and cons of each. Each website I read pushes their own products. Really looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much. Bob1955
