i am very inerest to know how many people on this board have a dog, cat guinea pig or whatever? I am 99.9 percent sure that I caught this off a Dog I adopted from the Humane Society. Ayla was in a terrible condition when I got her. I bathed, wormed and got her looking good but she itched a lot. Two weeks after Ayla came to live with me this wretched itching started. Ayla came from a farm and was allowed to catch and eat rats and rabitts. Something I abhore!!!!!!!! I think that Ayla got this thing by eating these creatures. Like Kyra (my present dog) it didn't affect her skin, but these things kept appearing in her coat. During her first summer with me Ayla nearly died and I was worried sick. I bathed her every day for two weeks with an aloe vera and vitamin E shampoo which I also used on myself. It helped Ayla much more than it did me.l In fact I would say that it saved her life. From, day one I told the Doctors and Vets that I caught this from Ayla and of course no one believed me!!!!!! I have been saying this to them for 11 years and have got nowhere except for diagnosis of DOP!!!!! I look forward to anyones input. Best wishes. Roberta Louise
