A HIGHLY TOXIC SUBSTANCE that many of us are being exposed to. Not from a parasite. The "crawly symptoms" are from your own body's immune defense system.
My story:
Again, my story just points me to believe this. As I mentioned in another thread, I temped in a building for many months with absolutely no symptoms. I was then asked to go permanent. A month or two later, they went about installing new carpeting throughout the building. The building was huge (2000 occupants) This is when all of my symptoms started:
It felt like bugs crawling on my legs, head, and arms.
At times it felt like needles jabbing into my skin.
There were many times, when I would just go "blank" and be talking with a colleague and completely forget about what I was even going to say.
It often felt like someone was taking a fine hair and running it along my arm/legs
It felt like I was laying down in fiberglass at times.
I couldn't stop itching. At times, could barely sleep at night.
It felt sometimes that someone had come up to my arm, and pinched it between their thumb and index finger, and then twisted it, as if almost to bruise it.
My allergist told me to get out of the building.
It took 2-4 months for my symptoms to subside and for my body to "clear" most of this toxin . I still have residual symptoms of about 10% of what I initially suffered.
Reasons why I think it is caused by a highly toxic substance being produced in carpets and carpet fibers:
Every once in a while I go back to this particular building to visit my credit union - within 15 minutes of being there, I start getting my symptoms all over again. And I suffer again, for another 2-4 days with symptoms until my body "clears it" again.
There are, actually certain other places, even now, that I go into, and start getting symptoms - but not other places. Again, that makes me believe this is a toxin being used in carpeting/carpet glues.
I believe that these "crawly" feelings we get are not actually bugs living in us, but are our body's own immune reaction to a highly toxic substance. Believe me, I thought they were bugs for the longest time too. And tried everything to get rid of them. I realized it was my body's own immune defense system creating the "crawly feelings". The main reason why I believe this, again, is because parasites don't "just go away" upon leaving an environment. They continue to stay and grow within us. My symtpoms went away after 2-4 months after being out of this building. And they immediately come back when I again enter it (when I have visited my credit union there) - and they last 2-4 days thereafter, and then go away again. Parasites don't do this. A highly toxic substance that causes these immune defense reactions do.
I believe that the reason why this is so prevelant is because this highly toxic substance is being put into either carpet fibers/carpet glues, and many of us are exposed to them in many places.
There is no doubt about this in my mind. It was just put forth to me in such a way that was just too clear to me (the fact that I immediately got it upon them laying carpet and it subsided when I left the building). And the fact that bugs just don't "disappear" (if they are actually parasites living in me), just upon me leaving a building.
Or (as someone suggested) that it was caused by lyme. Because other employees complained of the same symptoms.
I do believe that this is such a highly toxic substance, that, that even though the extreme effects have subsided, it is still (because it is so toxic) within my system - even after years of exposure. Again, I would say that I suffer about 10% now of my original horrific symptoms.
Since we are exposed to carpeting everywhere - in stores, libraries, etc. it could be anywhere).
This is just my opinion folks. And scientists should be checking this out as well as trying to find a way to fight this.
