OKAY, I NEED SOMEONE TO SLAP ME BACK TO MY SENSES, BECAUSE LAST NIGHT I WITNESSED THE MOST FRIGHTENING, UNREAL AND UNBELIEVABLE...IN OUR AREA, IN PAST FEW WEEKS WE HAVE HAD THESE FLUFFBALLS FLOATING AROUND...EVERYONE HAS BEEN SAYING THEY ARE SOEMTHING FROM "COTTON TREES" WHICH I DONT THINK WE HAVE HERE IN THE CITY, BUT ANYWAYS!!--SO I SEE THEM BLOWING EVERYWHERE, PEOPLE SAYING THEIR EYES ARE ITCHING, BURNING, EVERYONE'S GETTING OUT THEIR "ALLERGY MEDS"--OVER THE WEEKEND I OPENED MY CAR DOOR AND SEVERAL "BLEW IN" --BUT I HAD THIS BAD FEELING--IT SEEMED TO ME THAT THEY WERE ACTUALLY TRYING TO GET INTO MY CAR, AS THO THEY HAD A MIND OF THEIR OWN (BEAR WITH ME HERE) SO I TRIED TO GET THEM OUT OF CAR...SOMEHOW A FEW FOUND THEIR WAY INTO MY HOUSE...WHEN I WAS SWEEPING THE FLOORS (NO CARPET IN ENTIRE HOUSE)=I SEE TWO OF THESE SPINDLY "FUZZBALLS" TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM ME AND THE BROOM--NOW ANY PERSON WHO HAS NOT BEEN HERE MIGHT HAVE JUST ASSUMED THAT MY BODY'S MOTIONS WERE PROPELLING THE @#$%ERS AWAY FROM ME, CREATING BREEZE THAT WAS MOVING THEM...BUT I JUST KNEW THEY WERE ACTIVELY MOVING OF THEIR OWN WILL...SO I GATHERED ONE UP IN A HUGE PAPER TOWEL...THEN DOUSED THE WHOLE THING W/STRAIGHT AMMONIA, THE "FUZZBALL" THEN SEPARATED INTO TWO PARTS: A MASS OF FUZZY COTTONYSPIDER LEGS, (APPROX. 20 OR SO, OVER AN INCH LONG), AND THE BODY PART OF THE SPIDERBALL--WHICH CONSISTED OF A PIECE OF SKIN COLOURED STUFF (ABOUT 1/4 INCH LONG)--WHICH WAS SURROUNDED BY THICK BLACK FIBERS!!! THE SECOND ONE I GATHERED UP, I LEFT INTACT, AND WATCHED IT MOVE A LONG COTTONY LEG , SIMILAR TO THE COBRA DANCE...IT WAS LIKE A BIG SPIDERLY COTTON TENTACLE, SENSING ITS ENVIRONMENT--THEN I FOUND ONE MORE BY MY BACK DOOR--IT WAS ACTUALLY IN A SPIDER WEB, BUT I DONT KNOW IF IT WAS A "NORMAL SPIDER'S " WEB, OR OF THE COTTONSPIDER HAD MADE IT --WHEN I STOPPED A FEW FEET AWAY FROM IT, IT MOVED ITS TENTACLES FRANTICALLY...I WAS VERY FREEKED BY THE WHOLE THING--NO COMPUTER AT HOME, NO ONE TO CALL WHO WOULD NOT CALL ME ABSOLUTLEY LOONY TUNES--I AM PRAYING THAT ONE OF YOU WILL RESPOND AND SAY, OH THIS IS A NORMAL SPIDER FOUND IN NATURE, DO NOT WORRY...I SWEAR ON EVERYTHING I HAVE AND AM AND KNOW THAT THIS IS WHAT I SAW...ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THESE?? PLEASE GIVE ME FEEDBACK--THANK YOU--I FEEL LIKE I COULD WRITE A REALL DOOZY OF A SCIFI NOVEL WITH PURELY FACTUAL INFO...MY 'REALITY ' IS REALLY GOING OUT SIDE OF THE BOX!!! ANYONE ELSE?

I have too had these and am sure this is a big part of this whole nightmare for us. These fiber bugs are floating around everywhere. Lots of people on another site have seen them too. I had them so bad in my home I couldn't stand it. Now I spray everything with amonia or windex, chairs ,bedposts, matteresses, floors, carpets, the air and they are few and far between in my home. I do this every day.I was going crazy using bug sprays everyday and now just windex. Most of my furniture is holding up to it, But I literaly spray the walls the drapes, you name it. They are outside and get in our cars too. Wonder where they came from, don't you ? I am asking anyone with a college degrree in agriculture or the cotton industry to come forth and enlighten us please. I see them attach to a visitor and melt into the skin. The have a flap of skin and a worm body that dissolves into us. It is so creepy. Thanks for your post, guest

If there are no cottonwood trees around then I have no idea. I have a cotttonwood tree and so does my neighbor. These fuzz balls are everywhere,. I do know what you are talking about becuase I have seen similar one. Mold is everywhere in the air and some molds resemble white cooton fuzz balls. Hope it helps some. Check out mold. Sue

When I had been ill, I suffered many strange occurences, weirder, even, than this sounds. If others are aware of this substance, and being affected by it, I would advise calling your Department Of Agriculture's County Extension Agent's number and asking them what it is. It's a free service, and the extension agent will come to your residence to see if they can assist you, if they can't supply the answer for you over the telephone. Good luck.

I too have seen plenty of these lately and so has every one else in this area. Everyone I know is on allergy meds except me. They are not attracted to me anymore and don't float towards me. but there are plenty outside and I hear folks saying all day "whats up with all this pollen in the air".
But when still had the "electrical charge" Ill call it...they came at me all the time.
I never even mentioned it before, all I kept saying was...I know I'm not crazy.
Anyway the ammonia thing works..I do it too.

Wow...this is such a comfort to read what you guys are saying. I too have this. I am new to this board, but have been ill for almost two years. I am 89% better, but my first few months I had every symptom and more. My life was a science fiction drama. (Except it was my own Realty show...not fiction.)
I have been afraid of the ammonia, due to not wanting to add any toxic fumes into the air I breathe, but I have been told it is the only thing that will get rid of the mytoxins which are produced by all sorts of fungi and molds. I will give it a try.
I have had those long legged, spider, fibrous, fluffy, electrically charged, crawling, jumping , flying things too. I don't sweep anymore, what so ever. I only vacuum with a hepa vac and replace the bag often. You know the trick....remove the bag from vac, while wearing gloves and mask, triple bag it in a plastic, and take it as far from the house you can get.
This illness is time consuming and exhausting due to the way I have to keep my home. Any good tips to make life simpler would be greatly appreciated.

I'm compelled to say this, as I have said it before, and I don't expect anybody to believe me. I'm still saying it anyway. Once I got myself in a state of better health, all the "things" that were in me, on me, and everywhere around me, died. They ALL totally died. The battle was over. (And I'd had a SEVERE onslaught, of two months duration, that almost cost me my life.)
