I swear the sauna is breaking the morgellon's cycle. I am doing so freakin' great!
In addition I have been washing our pillows also weekly in hot water, and two cycles in the hot dryer. They don't crawl in my ears now.

Also is it like some kind of a cabnent that you step in to use do you think it would be easy for an experanced carpenter and electrical educated person like me to build?
I'm real Jazzed that your doin so well ----ant

I have had this illness for almost two years. The first 7 months was absolute torture. I had it so bad...all the worse symptoms you have read and more. I really was going to die either from the illness or the insanity I experienced due to lack of help from doctors, hospital and family members. I was on my own.
I found my doctor, and I started the Infrared Sauna treatments, I did this 5 days a week for at least 3 months, then gradually tapered off. You can by them for $1500. They can use a 110 outlet or 220. Depends on size. I went to the physical therapy at my doctors office, they charged about 35.00 a visit.
It saved my life. I really did. I was able to get rid of any symptoms of crawling or itching. That was the part keeping me in such a terrible state of mind. I still have done other things to improve, but until the bug symptoms left, I could not function.
I was in a state of obsession of black dots, fuzzy things, bugs, worms, parasite, and germs. I watched for them everywhere and the worse it got...my family stated watching me watch for these and we were all loosing it.

We bought our on e-bay. I don't recommend it though, because it took 3 1/2 months to get it, and we really thought we had been ripped off. It was very stressful for me, when I could have been getting the therapy sooner if we had gone and bought one somewhere.
Ours is a four-seater. It is a box with a small wooden door with a window, and a window on each side of the door. We can stand up inside it. It has two small benches to sit on, a small table for our drinks, a stereo for music, a light for reading, heater controls, and six infra-red heaters.
Remember to drink plenty of fluids! And take your shipping tape inside with you in case you get anything off of you.
Sure seems simple enough to build, Anthill.

Anthill,
If these work I'd like to commission you to build me one. Then, in addition to my payment, I'll give you a big fat juicy kiss (when my husband is not looking of course).

Ant,
You may very well be aware of this info.......but just incase I wanted to pass it on.
Certain woods and products can emit toxins that would not be good for some of us. Specially those who are chemically sensitive. There are many companies pushing saunas made from woods that the one below suggests you do not use. Some even pushing "FRAGRANT WOODS." The idea is to remove toxins not expose yourself to more.
We got excited when we found a two person sauna on sale but then realised it was made of Fir which I believe falls into the aromatic category.
Good luck with your prodject Ant. I really feel strongly about the benefits of these saunas.
HEAVENLY HEAT SAUNA & FAR-INFRARED SAUNA - LOWEST PRICES ON THE INTERNET Address:http://www.ecomall.com/biz/heaven.htm
Depending on the dr. and insurance comp., some may even be able to get a perscription and help in purchasing a sauna.

Ant, keep us posted on this and whether you think it would be cost-effective to build one of these. I guess if you're in a small town like me with no options, most anything is cost-effective!
I think that this goes along with those people who are so desperate to get well they are taking dangerous malaria treatments down in Mexico.....same disease, different course of action. The sauna is a much safer way to go and most likely cheaper in the long run.
Thanks to all of you for sharing your experiences with us.

HI guys The working parts of the light sauna are vary affordable I cheated A little went to the second hand store and found on of those three light bulb bathroom vanity light strip's that you see over the mirror for $1.50 they are about $25 - to $30 New I originally Had it in mind to build the panel from scratch but when I found the light strip it was like most of my work was already done all three light socket's were all ready wired in series all that was left was to wire the light strip with the cord with the plug that I got for $1.oo at the same second hand shop that I got the light strip at all I had to do is hook up three wires just remember the black wire to black white to white green on the plug wire to the bare ground on the light strip twist them up and put the wire nut's on then tape up the wire nuts with electrical tape at this point all you have to have is the 250W Infrared bulbs For the bright ones (Hard on the eyes}about $6.00 a peace and $12.00 for the red ones screw them in plug the plug in and walla Infrared light that's the easy way to Wire it up
A little bit harder but if you want a switch-($2.00 )on your rigg and not just a plug in--- before you do any of the assembly like described paragraph above --Run the plug wire through a J box like a bead on a necklace make sure the J box or switch box you use has wire clamps both places where the wire goes through the box leave that for now will go back to it later OK now you can hook up the light strip like I instructed above Now that the light strip is hooked up go back to the j box or switch box pull the wire out of the front of the box in a big loop so it's easy to work with carefully cut about two inches.of outer insulation off the wire where the loop is without cutting any of the inner insulation or wires now that that's done cut only the black wire right in the middle of the place where you took off the outer insulation making sure that the green and the white are still in tact strip about a half inch to 3/8 of the insulation off each black wire end attach one of the black ends to one of the two screws and the other to the other" it doesn't matter witch one goes where now your switch is hooked up put your wire back into the J box and screw the switch to it tighten the clamps on the wire put the cover plate on the switch and wallah you have A infrared light with a switch
If you want to run wires through walls and and such I can tell you how to do that to but you'l have to inquire
Now all that's left is to do is figure out if I want to build some kind of box to keep the heat in---the sauna it's self
If I could afford it I would build it right and make it pretty"-- but as my mentors that taught me in construction use to say"--Daryl" were not building a piano were building a house-- or sauna in this case I live in an old Victorian house when I was but a babe about four year's old -- there was an old scary closet that my older brothers and sisters told me that a a ghost lived in ---and then they use to lock me in there as a joke and scare the hell out of me Even at that young age I still remember the trauma of the whole deal Anyway I was thinking about commandeering that old ghosty closet from that old ghost and hanging my infrared light aray in their and using it for my sauna
If it doesn't work out between the old ghost and I I think will build something out of sheet rock I suppose you could use a shower stall too anything that works to hold in the heat and is non toxic
I" ment to say that I have hung the light bar on the wall an have been working under it all day and it seems to give me some relef I cant wait to see what it does when I get it put in a smaller space --hope this help's someone

ant,i have one of those lights that holds 3 bulbs, it already has a cord on it.all i need to do is plug it in.but would that work if i just put one infared red light in it ?do u think that would be safe? thanks

Jody As long as you have a heavy cord on it and the sockets them selfs arnt made of plastic or any thing that melts you want to have it mounted on the wall so it doesn't fall over and away from any thing flammable on the original plans they had a wire mesh over the lights for a burn guard If you can figure out how to do that it would be good
If all of the above is true I don't see any reason why you cant use three bulbs one I don't think will one bulb will work to bring up the temperature in the sauna where it needs to be a good even temperature
Ive noticed that these critters like to play squirrel around my body If you have ever chased a squirrel and it run up a tree you can run around and around that tree and and no matter what you do the squirrel Is always hiding on the other side of the tree you might catch him peeking here and there but there is no chance to catch a good glimpse of him
now add another squirrel antagonist into this picture on the other side of the tree The squirrels cover is blown now he can try going around the tree to stay out of sight view but with two antagonist one each side of the tree there a real good chance that at least one of us will catch a good glimpse of him
by the same token while I have been sitting here all day with the infrared to my left and the critters have been gravitating to my right side away from the infrared lamps so I think its important that there be two antagonist the infrared lights being one antagonist and the small room to keep the temperature even another" so there is no getting away for these squirrelly suckers
My war cry: GIVE EM HELL

Jody flattery will get you every where or was the line Savwafair is everywhere! lol
OK Although My legs are still in-festered the swelling has gone down to about normal I think at the time that the swelling went down I was taking Ivermecton and mebendazol and using a malathion topical that my sister in-law sent to me from Uruguay I also oil down so with skin so soft one reason would be to slow them down the other is makes my skin slippery so i can press real hard while I deep massage my legs lets say that its sort of a smish the bugs under the skin campaign that reminds me DING-DONG" the Avon lady came today

Anthill,
When I am washing dishes, standing over the hot water, I can feel them in my hair moving away from the heat. When I get in the sauna and the heat is everywhere they don't move at all. It's like they are instantly in shock. I sometimes get 20 or so off of me in a session. Also, we thought our electric bill would be through the roof, but it is normal. Thank God!
I went in the cooled-off sauna with my clear shipping tape and came out with all kinds of dead tiny, winged insects. Maybe the midge?
OH! I've been meaning to tell everyone for weeks. I got a Chillo for my pillow. "They" absolutely hate it. When I first laid down on it, and felt the cool, "they" moved out of my hair and down my body. Now I can pretty much sleep at night without so much crawling as soon as I lay down. I highly recommend it. They are sold at Walgreen's for about $15, and last about a year.
Hey, Anthill. Something I've been thinking about. How can we super heat our beds? I don't think a normal electric blanket would get hot enough. I just think the heat could kill eggs and all, and maybe help break the cycle.

Anthill, I have read many of your posts and I appreciate what you have to say. My husband and I have a construction business. We considered building a sauna. I got so much better from using the one at my doctors office, by the time we thought we would do it, I decided to not risk getting it wrong. Since I was better, we have not done anything. I would like to know how it works out for you. I actually decided I would go the route of hard backer, with ceramic tiles. I have used both kinds and both have advantages....please post your opinions on build vs buy and types of construction, size, 110v or 220v and so on.
Thanks

Hey Becky ......Em ...what the heck is a Chillo
Is it kinda like a chia pet? LoL".. Hel' yes" those parasites wont come near me when my guard chia pet's on the job LOL (mine chia pet Goofy) when they get a gander at ol" goof"....they runaway with their thorax between their eight leg's.... squeaking He..Hee"
ya" heat defiantly effects them I have one of those glass top kitchen stoves and I use one of though one cup Melita coffee makers and I boil my water in a tea pot for my coffee when I go to make my coffee I leave the burner on and I will ring my hands over the hot burner parasites com off me like crazy and they spark on the hot plate you can see them wriggleing on the way down to the hot plate
It kinda resembles space shuttle challenger burning up on reentry
we just have to find which heat works best anyway we can screw up these parasites day is good mess up there habitat spay & neuter them suicide bomb them Kamikaze them any thing is game this is war------Isay" Isay"
Faith I'm no exaeggbert on saunas I my self have built only one sauna shack and installed the workings in my whole career I mainly build houses run heavy equip.and have knowledge of electricity
I think if I could afford to buy a sauna it would be the kind with emitters I think they are much safer and more efficient than the light bulb as far as the voltage anything that heats up 220V is better than 110V and allot has to do with fung-shway do you have a place to put a 220v sauna that has a 220 outlet that is covenant or do you have the hassle of having to wire for it" also if your sauna is any distance from your power source 220v is a must with one exeption you can run a 220 runner out and break it down to 110 with another breaker box once you get to the appliance if you just happern to have a 110 sauna a distance away from the power source
on the other hand 110V can be plugged into almost any power outlet in the house and you can put your sauna anywhere and not have to mess with rewiring your house although you might have to put a higher amp breaker in your power box
one rule of thumb though .....Each major appliance has to have its own circuit and this is true with 110v as well as 220v you shouldn't have any other appliance on the same circuit as your sauna or at least not running at the same time

B---I really do want to know what a chillo is no joke this time Infrared light, which also is known as infrared radiation (when referring to the electromagnetic spectrum, scientists often use "light" and "radiation" interchangeably), falls between visible and radio.spectrum, yes light and radio waves are vary much related If you place your hand next to your cheek, you can feel the infrared light as heat pouring through your hand to the skin on your cheek. www.astronomy.com/asy/default.aspx?c=a&id=1078
