I really enjoyed watching Matt Lauer's interview with Tom Cruise on the today show the other day. Their discussion/debate about psychiatry and psychiatric drugs vs scientology's views was quite enlightening. Tom does not believe in psychiatry and the use of psychiatric drugs. I find his and scientology's approach quite facinating and decided to do some digging especially after reading Margie's article on a similar subject linked from her article from the Lyme conference thread. Does scientology's approach and the use of the E. Meter give some validity to the use of zappers/rife machines for the treatment of illness? Would love to hear all opinions in this area. The scientology sites were quite busy this morning but this one should give you some insite into why I came to this conclusion/question. .................................. HI JJ' hope your still hangen the problem with your post was that the URL of your link was too long it will screw up a post every time It had all the google stuff added on to it that isn't aways needed I shortened it for you but for some reason I don't know what only half of the URL lights up as a link so anyone that was to view the link should copy and paste to their browser then it will work
---Tom cruse I saw that interview or one of them where he said does not believe in psychiatry and the use of psychiatric drugs and I think he is right on the money that man is a meat and potato's kinda guy
in so many ways both psychiatry and or dermatology are are crack pot profession's
me and my ex owned two mental health half way houses years ago in north cal and I'm here to tell you you in allot of cases they do allot more harm than good
for instance their were some guys and gals that were in our care that weren't to far gone and we would just get them coming around to to thinking half way right simply by using love and caring and respect and trying to instill into them how the real world works and after the browbeating they got at therapy we were back to square one so Ya' also it seems that it is part of their therapy is to guilt trip the people in their care and if you ask me it is vary crippling

Thanks both of you for fixing my link.
Guess this topic is a touchy subject. Thought the similarities between scientology's approach to illness and other alternative approaches (like chinese for example) is very similar.
Personally, I was able to overcome serious cognative problems at work brought on by (what I will call) bouts of stress induced anxiety. Think I have had problems similar to this most of my life. I tried the paxil & effexor route to cope with morgellons and family. Stopped the PSYCH meds. What I have found is that once I understood the "what, why's and result of" these bouts. I was able to reprogram (so to speak) and no longer have the severe cognative and focusing problems. You CAN do it without meds. Don't misunderstand, I still have cognative problems brought on by "morgellons" (and/or lyme) but am able to distinguish.
Hugs all JJ

I have to defend my meds. I would not have survived this hell without Seroquel. I sleep deeply every night, escaping the torture we all endure. My mind and my body are responding to the complete rest. Your body heals when you sleep! I know I would have lost my job by now if my mind wasn't much better.
I'm not saying you are wrong, at all. I just have never been in a situation where I relied on drugs, but now I would FREAK if I ran out.
We won't EVEN get into the religion thing...........
