Hello to all. I am new to this board as of a few minutes ago. I have been dealing with these symptoms for the past 5 months. Maybe longer. My husband of 11 years has tried to have me commited 2 different times. The only way I got out of that is I told the medical personel what a "NORMAL" person would tell them. I wont go into detail of all the craziness for the past few months but I am sure you can understand. Now to my question. I have been a hair stylist for 8 years. I have built up a wonderful clientel and I refuse to go to work for the past 4 months because I am so afraid of giving this to one of my clients. Although I am not sure where this came from. My husband thinks this is just a way to get out of work. If that were true I would be someone besides in this HOUSE all the time. ANY advice on how to get any break from this would be so greatly appreciated. I have a baby that is 11 months old and a 3 year old .

Hello Binarky,
Just remember it is extremely hard to get some one "committed". Here are a couple of quick examples from my own neighborhood:
I had a neighbour, severely combative, neglectful in the extreme of the kids (3 and 6), binge type alcohol abuse and probably a few other problems.
It took 8 police officers to get her out of the house and to a hospital. As soon as she dried out, she could then tell them who the president was, (she couldn't when they took her in to the hospital) SO ..she was released. She lost custody over the kids for only a few months at some point, of course the system really doesn't actually have many places to keep the kids that are truly better and safer than with their own parent, no matter how bad the conditions.
SO.. She got them back too.
Another neighbor tells me that 12 friends and family members of a schistophrenic relative testified to the court as to how unable to care for herself this relative was. I mean EXTREME and she also was doing wild behaviors that the relatives would have to drive hours to get to her and rescue her from.
The court would not/could not keep her "in" without her consent and cooperation.
All you have to say is NO and also show you are in your right mind by knowing some commonly known facts like: who the president is, basically.
The days when a spouse could have the other commited on "say so", are long, long gone.
and Trust me, no one wants to pay the bill, not an insurance company or society) for keeping someone locked away.
So don't let that kind of threat, eat at you, remember: usually when someone's finger points at someone else, it points straight back at themself!
Hope this was not too personal. I just can't stand these kinds of mental/emotional abuse.

ps - when you get a chance, check out the old black and white film, Gaslight! In these situations, it is good to know what the term "gaslighting" means.

I am a hairstylist and had the worst of the worst symptoms. I started staying fully dressed took 3 months off work and cleaned out my house and body. That is only the beginning. Read the archives here for more information on remedies and such. I began working in gloves 24/7. My clients think I have lyme disease and dont mind at all. It did away with the hugging and such. Actually a few whom had befriended me know about this condition as I confided in them. They still come to me.
I am very very careful, yet have found some peace with it all. Whatever you do get a game plan, especially seeing that you have lil ones.
I personally never received help from a doctor. I ordered my own meds and herbs and such online and I do not regret it. I am much better, but not fully well.
Wishing you health

Thank you so much for letting me know I am not the only hair stylist going thru this. Most of the people I know think I am just having post partum......whatever! I could never make these symptoms up and really I have been too embarrassed to go anywhere. If you don't mind could you tell me what meds I could ask for or herbs. I am open to anything at this point. I have seen my children have some of these same symptoms. That is why everyone thinks I am having some kind of post partum , but I know what I see. I also know that I know my children better than anyone besides their father and I can tell when something is wrong. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi binarky, I too, know how you feel. I am not a hairdresser, but work as a Food Service Manager and I took a leave of absence back in March because I was afraid this was contagious and did not want to risk giving it to others either. Not to mention the fact that I has such extreme fatigue and joint pain and brain fog and dizziness. (Had to quit driving.) I still don't have a clue whether this is really contagious or not. I have had some close family and friends come down with mild and similar symptoms, but not FULL BLOWN like I was. I am just now feeling human again, have returned to work believe I am actually well at this point. I am praying I don't have a relapse. If you want to know what I did, go to General Board and read MY PROTOCOL - Victoreah! I hope and pray you will find some relief and get on some good antibiotics - preferably the Septra. Don't give up hope!

I get paranoid about being contagious sometimes. My symptoms seem to be alot more vascular and in the lymph. My aunt and uncle who are in their late 70's each had to be treated for a blood clot after I had visited them. My uncle's was first and my aunt's was right awfter my next visit over a year later. It might be a coincidence. Also my mom started having symptoms in her knee after I gave her a pair of my shoes. It is probably only something to be concerned about if people have a weakened immune system. susiebelle

It's very contagious as long as the cycle keeps repeating and you keep getting new bites/wounds/lesions/et al. If there is an open pathway out of your body for an organism to pass through, then the possibility exists that it will. I think those of us who have it really bad have compromised immune systems. I think I have been exposed to mold because I was an extremely healthy person--I worked out regularly and played semi-pro sports--then over the course of the last year, I started getting really sick all the time--ALL the time. I'm a shadow of the person I was. I'm not getting better, or I do for a couple of days then right back to it. I haven't been able to work or play sports or work out. I used to date beautiful women and have lovely sex with them...all that seems like a dream. Was that really me? Or did I watch that in a movie. I've stopped going places. This is the first time I've left my house in a while, just to use a computer, check my email, this board, a few others, and see how the world keeps turning without me. By the way, moxidectin doesn't apear to do anything for me any more. AND I think I took too much out of desperation last time. I've been nautious ever since. I have slept for 3 days solid this week. AND I'm probably going to be evicted. It's hard to couch surf when you're covered with bugs.
