I'm having a problem replying to any threads also. I also apologize for starting a new one.

Yes, I know a couple people who told me they were on special diets due to candida or systemic yeast infections. They never described any black dots or lines in their cases. They focused on rashes when they ate bread or sweets, and CFS.
I agree, there is something about the symptoms that seems to overlap a lot - especially the brain fog, but the symptoms of candida are so broad that I think three-fourths of the world has at least three of them.
I really think there are three different things going on here. I would not be surprised at all to find out that some have candida or other fungal infections. I would not be surprised to find that that a lot of people here are not delusional at all, and do have parasitic infections. Then there is morgs.
There are reasons to believe any of the three in my case. First, I actually had yeast cultured off of me, took a couple pills from my doc, and healed just fine, probably a few months or a year before all of this started. But, when this started, my girlfriend was actually able to pick mite like critters off of my arms. Finally, I haven't seen a live mite in my skin in well over a year, and yet have the black dots and lines. Take your pick, at this point.
One thing I'm certain of - if this is fungal/yeast, then there is no doubt in my mind that testing all of these antibiotics will make me exponentially worse. That, in itself, would be diagnostically helpful.
Day three of my zithro test, and my symptoms ARE worse. So we'll find out (I hope) why they are worse. After the zithro, I'm trying the tetra. If the symptoms get worse on the tetra, I'm immediately going to do an anti-fungal and see what happens.
Jeff,
You mentioned that when this started, your girlfriend was able to pick mite-like critters off of your arms. I recall going through a similar experience with my boyfriend.
When all the itching started and I thought I had scabies, after none of the lindane treatments or lice shampoos worked, I began to take a closer look at the stuff that seemed to be sprouting from my skin. For the longest time, up until very recently acutally, I just didn't know for sure what it was. It appeared to be the same whitish yellowish translucent specks that were coming out of my hair-out of my hair and my boyfriend's, too. These same little specks were all over my dogs as well. I would become extremely itchy when the dogs jumped around me, as the specks would float off of them and land on me, making me itch.
I thought up until very recently that the little things coming out of my pores were some kind of parasite. How could I not, when they caused such intense itching and discomfort, all over my body, and the doctors couldn't tell me what it was? Have you been told that it's "just skin" or that there was nothing there? Dandruff maybe?
Jeff, when your g/f picked the critters off of your skin, did they move on their own? Can you recall what they looked like? Mine did not seem to be mobile, except on some occasions I noticed that when I went to pluck one off of an eyelash or eyebrow, it seemed to cling to the hair and sort of "slide" back down to the skin again. That made me think that these things were alive.
Also, after reading other people say that they cultured the fibers in a dish and that the filaments grew, I figured that they had to be alive or something.
However, after reading about the disease Candida and its traumatizing effects when it infests a person's body, I really think that this could be the underlying reason for all of our symptoms. I can also understand how it seems that 3/4 of the world has many of the symptoms of Candida. There certainly is a long laundry list of possibile symptoms!
I definitely don't think that the vast majority of morgs patients are delusional at all. I think it's a tragedy that we have to continue to be turned away by doctors who tell us there's nothing wrong with us. I have read time and time again that Candida disease causes at least depression, if not more serious mental problems, in almost all people who suffer from it.
Just out of curiosity, Jeff-when you said that you had yeast cultured and then received pills from your doctor, was this before you ever began having morgs symptoms at all? Or did you have the morgs and then have the culture for yeast done, and then subsequently noticed the mites had disappeared?
It's a guess but I now think that the fibers that have been coming out of my pores, which I have long thought to be some kind of parasites balled up inside a strange material that exited my pores, are actually overgrowths of fungal yeast caused by Candida. I think that the mites that we describe could actually be fungal yeast, and the reason why you don't have them anymore could be due to the antifungal treatments you took.
It's another guess of mine that if Candida is the culprit, possibly some other treatment you were prescribed for the morgs had an effect on the fungal yeast-if that's what it is. Then your mite symptoms would have been alleviated. For some reason you still have the black specks. Jeff, do you currently have any other symptoms related to morgs, or is it just the black specks and nail problems?
I'm under the impression that taking antibiotics has supressed many of the symptoms of morgs patients, including the itching, the fibers, and others.
I had the black specks and white rows under my finger nails and toenails for quite some time. I don't know if they developed after the itching did, which was about 6-7 months ago and the first symptom I noticed about this condition.
If this is Candida and the symptoms are alleviated by oral antibiotics like sulfa, then I'm also surprised by the fact that my using neosporin antibiotic cream on my nails cured the black rows and specks and white lines on my toes and hands in less than a week. It's all a mystery to me, but I think I can somehow see a connection between Candida, Morgs, and Lyme.
Jeff, if you think that you may want to treat yourself for Candida after trying this round of antibiotics, would you consider trying the Candida diet, instead of taking antifungal meds or creams? After the limited amount of research that I've done on the disease Candida, it does appear that in order to conquer it successfully, without having the symptoms come back, one has to follow the diet by cutting out sugars, processed foods, etc.
I think that may be the only way that we may ever begin to recover if we really do have Candida, and the Candida is causing the morgellons symptoms. Thanks in advance, for answering my questions about your situation with the mites and the specks. I really appreciate your input as it's extremely valuable and well-worded.
One last thing I'd like to say is that I'm beginning to think that the reason it hasn't been officially realized that Candida, and possibly Candida alone, is the center from which all morg and lyme symptoms radiate, could be because people aren't treating the Candida properly, because they just think they have a co-infection of fungus along with everything else. I think everyone is convinced they have an additional malady such as unidentified parasites (which could be entirely true) but I think this could be a reason why we haven't been able to solve Morgellons. It might also explain why so many treatments are effective while one is on them, but why no one really seems to be "cured" once and for all. I really believe it may have everything to do with diet and the disease Candida.
Thanx,
Host
