Leitao and other Morgellons activists say that, with the Web as a primary tool, they'll continue working to have the illness investigated as an infectious disease. Doctors interviewed by PM say this unilateral approach hinders objective analysis of symptoms they've seen for decades. Well, all symptoms except for one: Widespread reports of the strange fibers date back only three years, to the time they were first described online, at www.morgellons.org"Helllooooo" Their saying that the people who have these conditions date it back towhen they first were indoctrinated with the delusion. It's not an advocecy article.

That's right, and everyone of us should write the researcher that wrote this article.
I did, and I promise you he did not like it.

Hello,
Popular Mechanics Magazine has apparently become a mouthpiece for the U.S. Government. PM's failure to publish the photographs of the jet engines lying in New York's streets on on it's rooftops after 911 has also aided the Government's coverup of its involvement in the destruction of the World Trade Center.
The fact that Popular Mechanics published an article on Morgellons tells me that the Government has had a hand in it.
Respectfully Yours, Bugs Alive

Hey I just wanted you to know about the articles existence. don't shoot the messenger please pc Hey pattiecakes, Thanks for posting the link. If I remember correctly most articles written on Morgellons end up getting some negetive response. Most tend to feel there is "TO MUCH DISCUSSION" of DOP in these articles. In this case, the original poster used the word "advocacy" when discussing DOP. I have to disagree. If we don't discuss the MISDIAGNOSIS of DOP how could we possibly alert the population to the problem. If we pretend that it's not happening it isn't going away. The misdiagnosis of DOP has to be addressed in order to disprove it. ............... Still hangin, JJ

Interesting the layers and layers, hey Bugs? I hadn't seen the article, so when I looked, I see there is a second link. Look for the link listed in paragraph 4. They have a new derogatory name for "our type". Check it out. People such as we are, according to some, in the fourth entry of July 19. www.popularmechanics.com/blog/technology/1711567.htmlspec

Spec,
Our Government is constantly using diversionary tactics and outright lies to hide its illegal activities and its true agendas. If the layers of deception were peeled away and our Government was exposed for what it really is, most people would be in utter shock.

this is my letter to the guy who wrote the articleMr. Chertoff: How can you call yourself a researcher? How many Morgellons sufferers did you interview? How many homes did you visit? Lynch said "These scientists can recognize things down to the prion level, and viruses that do everything to evade detection", but how can they do that if no one does it! No one is investigating. The CDC has turned their backs to us. How many homes have they investigated? Just one home would do the job. There is evidence of something, though it is extremely elusive. It likes sores, scars and hair but will live anywhere on a persons body. It waits for them in their bed. The itching and crawling intensifies at night. Sleep is impossible. I'm sure people are scratching and making matters worse, but the creatures do cause tiny ulcers which are difficult to heal. Cutting off oxygen seems to kill them, for example putting castor oil on the ulcers and rashes. There is evidence in our beds, in our hair, in our cars and homes. But no one will investigate. The sufferers certainly don't know how to do the CDC's job! It is absolutely criminal how we have been left to self-medicate in desperation. Many people have committed suicide. I certainly understand because it went through my mind that I would have to end my life to stop the torture. I was saved from that fate by our Father. I am strengthened for the battle ahead. I am managing this disease as best I can, but most people have had to quit their jobs. We suffer from brain fog, poor memory, anorexia, exhaustion, cough, etc. These are all physical symptoms that the person is VERY ill. Any doctor can see that, but still they send us to shrinks. Mention "parasites" to an American doctor and you will find yourself on a shrink's couch eating pills like candy. It just smacks of conspiracy to me. American doctors know parasites are making us ill, and making them rich. I am so ashamed of you for putting in large print "But are they jumping to conclusions?". No, we have a disease or scourge on our bodies and desperately need help. We would love for someone to investigate and TELL US what this is. We have no conclusion to jump to, we do not know what this is. Calling it Morgellons gets us nowhere closer to an answer, because no one knows what Morgellons is, except it fits the symptoms. All the studying we all do has mostly been in vain. Especially when you cannot get any of the powers-to-be to run any kind of test, and cannot get a referral to a specialist. Certainly there are specialist, if not in our country then in other countries. But we are told we will have to find them ourselves. I don't know how to do that. Wouldn't a doctor have channels of communication with other doctors? Certainly. They give referrals all the time, just not to us. I have been studying human filarial disease. It fits. I would love to mail you a copy of the reserach for your review. One in particular, called Onchocerca volvulus, causes intense itching and nodules, is thread-like in appearance, and has been reported in America. If the disease becomes occular blindness can result. Many Morgellons sufferes report their eyesight is getting bad, and many of those with the disease for many years are blind. It differs from the African form in that nodules are much smaller and occur mostly around and on the head, but also on the body. Diagnosis is made by finding the adult worms in the noducles and the microfilarie in the skin and nodules. Examination of the skin in the vicinity of the nodules or cutaneous lesions for microfilarie is the most practical method. This disease is carried by biting insects like the midge. They contract the disease by biting an infected animal, and spread it by biting other animals and humans. I contracted this disease after a 5-night cruise ship vacation to Cozumel, Mexico. Still no doctor will believe my symptoms could be parasite related. How narrow-minded is that? When I began experiencing the intense itching and not sleeping, the mental stress was overwhelming. I was a basket case. Can you imagine having your life turned upside down almost overnight by a mysterious disease? And to make matters worse not one of six doctors that I went to in desperation did any kind of tests. I asked for testing, I asked for referrals, but no one would do a thing for me. You interviewed medical doctors AFTER interviewing Ginger Savely and Dr. Striker. They, being the educated, intelligent, arrogent people that they are convinced you that we are delusional. We do not have the other symptoms that a true delusional person has, like MENTAL ILLNESS or DRUG ADDICTION! We are at the end of our ropes simply because of the desperation of our situation. You did not mention in your article that Ginger is also a Lyme Disease Specialist, who is finding some 10% of her Lyme patients have Morgellons symptoms. She realizes our desperate situation and is trying to help us get real help from the CDC, who so far has denied us an investigation. They say they are sitting back waiting for doctors to send them samples, but the truth is they disregard anything sent even by doctors. The CDC should be in our homes with their spacesuits on collecting evidence. These thing are as tiny and invisible as dust mites. Have you ever seen a dust mite with your eyes? No, that is impossible. The CDC has the right equipment to find the evidence, and send it to experts for diagnosis. Why would they deny us that American right? ? It is easy to see why victims of this disease are outraged. We live in America, with the best health care anywhere, but we are left to our own devices. How can that happen in our country, in this day and age! We are all concerned about spreading this disease to others. How do you go about your normal life with this scourge all over your body? I have mostly stayed out of people's homes and cars, and don't allow anyone in mine. I have loosened up on this as my condition has improved through Lyme Disease treatment, salt baths, hot tub soaks, infra-red sauna treatments, and castor oil on my skin. It would be awesome if you would investigate this more thoroughly and blow the cover off this mystery. You would help several thousand people. If you are interested please return my email at beckybailey2892@hotmail.com and let me know where to mail material to you. I certainly feel you owe it to us to investigate futher, because your article truly hurt our cause. thank you for your time, Becky Bailey Llano, Texas beckybailey2892@hotmail.com

Hey ----b my last doctor told me to get off the Internet too" he said it jokingly like it was a big joke
I don't think its so much that they think th at were a Cyberchondriac's although that may be part of it but I think that they know that we know that they know that we know that they know that all the so called DOP patients are uniting together against there bogus diagnosis and it's going to blow up in their face if they arnt aware that a storm is brewing yet they are still thick as a brick us dogs that they have been kicking around will have their day Bow wow!

Mouse, if you look at the Popular Mechanics magazine Mr. Chertoff's title is researcher.
No he didn't respond, but if you were him would you have liked receiving my letter telling you off and telling you what was left out? I doubt he liked it at all. Maybe it even made him wish he had never opened that can of worms.
I am very glad to have any articles out there, any publicity is good. But he just did such a bad job of covering the major points that I had to write him, and I wish everyone would.

welcome to lymebusters uptownjean From what I under stand land snails can harbor that shisto type parasite just as well as the snails that live in water "dicrocoelium dendriticum,"( or land fluke) I wanted to note that both the ant and snail are the intermediate Host of it The end game being the sheep and possibly other grazing animals As far as most of the cases of morgellons being reported being in coastal areas or close to coastal areas it could be some kind of parasite moving north by wind & water & land from the tropics due to global warming I was watching a documentary on global warming the other night and they were finding Insects in Alaska that had never been known to live in that cold climate before then lets not forget about the conventional way for parasites to travel planes trains and automobiles and don't forget ships my parasites drive cars Ya' right ;D
