I don't know why I didn't think of it before, but my ultra-violet light kills viruses and algae. It will get rid of warts. I used it last night on my biggest nodules (which could very well be a wart.....) and burned some of it off. It is not itchy today at all. I'm going to use it for five minutes every evening until the darn thing is gone!
Years ago you could purchase them at a beauty/barber shop supply, around $200 I think..........maybe cheaper now.
If you do use one BE CAREFUL! Don't hold it too close to the glass or it will shock you. Just keep a firm grip on the handle part. You can put it directly on the problem area, or put it close to get a zapping effect which works faster but is slightly painful.
Actually it HURT GOOD! It felt like I was finally getting to that itch!
I should add some history I have experienced with this device. When I was 17 and had been married about a year my husband (now ex) gave me herpes simplex 2. It was agonizing! Sex was painful! We used the ultra-violet light and all symptoms disappeared.
I have to admit there certainly could have been some Almighty intervention though because I prayed so hard when I found out I was pregnate. I went straight to the dr and told him I was pg and had herpes. He examined me and told me there was no sign of herpes. I have not had a problem since then.

Well hey Becky, I think using UV lights is probably good for ridding things from you! BUT... having Lupus, and Herpes, you are NOT suppose to be exposed to UV rays! I even did a test with this after being told by the Rheumatologist not to go in the sun, use sun-tan boothes. I went out in the sun and swam one day.. ooohhh baby. I sure know now why! I was so sick when I came in, and for the next few days I was down for the count. also if you have read anything on the Marshall Protocol, he says to stay out of the Rays too! I don't know how your genital herpes went away, but UV light will Trigger the virus in you! I rememeber an old Andy Griffith show, where Barney was trying to fix up Andy with dates, and one of the girl's he picked name was Lidiya.. when they suggested things to do and mentioned going on a picinic, she said in this monotone voice.. "I can't go in the sun, I get the Herpes" Now how I remember that, but don't know what I just wrote or read, I don't know? I am pretty sure the Ultra violet light is just synthetic sun rays, just not as intense? and so for me it would not be good to use. But.. I may be wrong here? But anyone who has a autoimmune disease should Not go out in the sun, this includes we who have the Herpes virus in us! Which if you had the chicken pox as a kid, then the virus is in you, forever! The virus lies dormant in your spine, until excess exposure to the sun, stress, and other factors cause it to come up, & out. But, I sure do thank you Becky for thinking of me when writing this, and makng this suggestion. Peace & Love-Metta

I placed a UV light in my AC/heating return duct and on my air purifier back in 2000. They are also used in hospitals. UV not only kills some microbes but it also helps break down some pesticides which are designed to be broken down by sun light. The half life of some pesticides is increased in the indoor environment because of the reduced sunlight.
Ever wonder about the blue lights that combs are placed under in beauty shops and barber shops?
Lesser is better

Hi Metta mi amiga. I have no opinions on the subject (are you shocked?), but I came across this article. It's the flip side. www.worldwidehealthcenter.net/articles-272.html Most of the time for me, the sun gives me a healing feeling. But during those times when it's so irritating, I wish I could just unzip myself out of my skin.

Ahhhhhhh..... the information from everywhere is frying my brain! I love the sun, and miss it! I use to be a sun baker.. and hate not having a tan! I knew the sun was good for me too. Until this mess came in to my life! Then when I went in the sun I got sick, or the zoster would come out on my taibone area. The site above ^^ Lisa is wonderful! Thanks! I really like to see the differant views, and sides to all of this! So then can ya 'splain' to me why in laymans terms the sun's rays would trigger the Zoster, and make the Lupus worse in me? And.. how I can get my fat arse out in it again?? Hi Jonh LIB.. gosh long time no see! Maybe you can let me understand this? I'd love to be poolside hangin with my kids, and grandson again! I really want to understand this. I know why I have the dx of Lupus.. cuz the fibers are still in me making m immune system work overtime! The bummer of this too, is, in reading the aticle Lisa posted it talks about all sorts of supplements, that I have had, and others, but dang, being on food stamps, and in poverty, things like that are soo expensive, and no sold at regular stores. It is just so easy to eat 'crap' and cheap too! Ya know? Thanks again Lisa! Metta

You are correct, the main purpose of this device is to shock. It's funny that you put it, "it hurts so good". This tool is a favorite of the dungeon folks, and can be found in all of the online S&M shops. Not that, that applies to you, of course. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on that, in case they start discussing with someone else, to eliminate any undue embarrassment. google "violet wand" and see what you get. Just FYI, so hope no one takes offense.

Isn't Lupus one of the many conditions misdiagnosed, when you actually have lyme. Have you been tested?
There are different UV rays, though I didn't think to look at the devise and get more info for you because I didn't get home until late.
When I used it on my herpes it did not get worse.
And I will NEVER get in a sun-tan booth again. EWWW GERMS!

Thanks for the great link Lisa!
Just to add to the confusion...A few years back I worked with a women who's skin was quite flawless and beautifully tanned. I complemented her and was openly envious (being the sun worshipper I am) since it was the middle of the winter in the midwest. Turns out she was diagnosed with lupus and she frequented the tanning booth because it controlled her lesions. She was also getting chlorophyll shots or intravenio usly, I can't remember which. It has claims of cleansing the blood and boosting the immune system. Well.......she looked great and healthy. ................

Jeff-- you are certainly right about the weed analogy, and would love to kill what this is in me/us off by going deep in there and eliminating the "mama" reproducing this crap over & over... yes.. I was dx with Lyme, two years ago! By the LLMD in Springfield, Mo. I spent a year on abx's, but will never be able to see him again, unless I win the lottery or something?? I just do NOT have the funds to take the four hour trip, or pay his office visit, or lab fees! Lupus is a "syndrome" of what happens when your immune system is in overdrive! Same thing with the reoccuring zosters! My body still may have the lyme bacteria?? But for sure I still have these "Fibers" in me that are making my body fight all the time, and triggering the zosters! I will NEVER get well until the fibers are identified, and eradicated! I was first dx with and continued to be dx with having a bacteria in me, then came the "infestation of the fly larva' I did NOT have the fibers until after that happened! Personally I think the fungus gnats are the key to what happened to me? and the fibers are the fungus they brought with them? Since I grow fungus from them! But.. I really can't even speculate, cuz there are just too many theories, and possibilites as to what this all is, how, or where I and others got this!! I just think Flies have something to do with this though... funny that we all had them during the time we got sick? And when my samples from me were sent to Mary Shepherd the parasitologist at the CDC, she mailed me info about 'drain flies" and how to rid them in your drains. And.. you can get lyme from other vectors too, so why not fungus gnats? Who knows? ? Metta

But, like I told you Anthill, that doctor should not have burned your dad. It is not necessary to use it like that. I guess I should have added it does get warm. You have to keep sliding around on your skin with something like vaseline.

Metta , tell me more about the drain-flies. Four years ago when I first experienced symptoms of morgellons we had a problem with these small flies in the cracks of the tub and the worm-like black stuff with them. I cleaned, sprayed, etc. but they were around that full summer. wolfe1
