I have Morgellons, but I tested negative for Lyme's disease with the Heterophile Lyme DS/DNA test. I am new to all this, can anyone tell me if this is the best test for this? It was done via blood draw. Is this a direct or indirect test? Should I request another or different test? Please advise. Also if anyone can recommend a good doctor in Cleveland I would appreciate it . Also, I am interested in testing my children. Neither, unlike me, has been on antibiotics recently or herbals, what test would be recommended for them? Thx.

Hi KB, I see where the Heterophile dsDNA test is used for Mono and Lupus, but not Lyme disease. The best tests that I'm aware of are the Western Blots from IgeneX, both the IgG and IgM; and the Bowen Research Lab test (my favorite). With most labs you might as well flip a coin instead of spending you money. Their accuracy rate is abysmal. For now most LLMD's rely on IgeneX, and a few prefer Bowen. Blue Skies..............John

Thanks for the info, I will be trying to push docs into this testing or trying to wrangle some $ to get it done myself. I do have insurance but it may not cover these two labs from what I read?? Can these labs direct you to lyme literate docs in your state? Maybe I could go about it backwards, they probably know of doctors that use them regularly...

KB -- you'll prob'ly get quicker & better results, via asking the folks at that first link Lisa posted -- Register at lymenet, then, post your question there, & then, someone will email you about it-! That IS pretty much the drill over there. People ask about Drs all the time, in just that format. ...Good luck with it!
