How many have been tested for this gene? HLA-DR4. Can you ask for this test if possible and let me know if you are positive? I am positive. There should be no problem with insurance covering this test.. Same with the CD-57 NK.. I need anyone who can get these tests to get them and contact me with the results.... Now go.. get off the net and call your Doctors....lol Kerry

Wow.
So you are positive for the HLA-DR4, can you tell us what the contact information is for a laboratory that runs these tests?
Were you tested for the CD-57 NK?
Also, do you have any links for info about this connection?
Thanks Kerry,

Hi Spec... Any lab that your bloodwork goes to from any Dr should be able to test for these 2 things.. The HLA-DR4 is a gene... The people who all got the Lymerix vaccinations years ago that ended up with Lyme disease were all positive for this gene..like.. the disease stuck. People with this gene tend to get sicker with Lyme.. they need more aggressive treatment and for longer.. and are usually left with lingering arthritic problems even after they stop abx.
....................... Now.. the CD-57.. that tests your killer cells. The family Dr may say.. this test isnt relevant.. and it isnt.. to him. But for you it will show many things. For one.. that you have Lyme Disease since most often Lyme will attack the immune system in this area, specifically the killer cells. But it can also be used as a device to tell how sick you are.. and while on treatment what is working as far as meds.. The average person may have 60 or so killer cells.. by average I mean someone who eats fast food.. junk here and there, maybe a smoker.. someone who is under stress and doesnt work out much or take special care of their body..whereas a person who takes special care, works out regularly..doesnt smoke or drink..takes vitamins and maybe even herbals everyday eating only high nutrient foods may have up to 460 killer cells.. that would probably be maximum health... Lyme attacks this area.. and its been specifically of interest to me as many with Morgellons as well seem to have a very low killer cell test. What I am looking for is a few things.. like why in 1 household are some affected by Morgellons why others arent.. and its not just the Lyme.. because on the Lyme boards not everyone has Morgellons.. So I am wondering what does the Lyme affect that so many are able to get Morgellons.. or even if there is a connection at all... I hope I am making sense here. From all who have been tested who have Lyme and Morgellons.. they all seem to have the lowest killer cells compared to those with just Lyme.. So that leaves me wondering out of the people with Lyme that dont have Morgellons.. or vise versa.. if the HLA-DR4 could be the link instead.. lol.. Honestly.. I make sense in my own mind I swear!... Im looking for people who have family Drs.. or Lyme Drs who can request these 2 tests and I need the answers if possible... Yes.. I am an obsessive weirdo... thats not news to anyone.. But honestly.. there really is a method to my madness.. and I am able to retain every bit of information about Lyme even tho I dont know the day of the week...lol.. so use it to your advantage... Do you understand why I am looking for people to get these 2 tests? Because I can tell how sick you are..what you are in for.. and maybe even establish a connection to the Morgellons Disease.. but also teach you how to monitor what meds are working and what arent so you arent all out there fighting to be on some meds that you may not need to be on.. Anyway... I hope I am not confusing anyone...Im not really good at explaining things..

I just wanted to add.. altho there is no way to get rid of the gene.. you can build up the natural killer cells. The best thing to build them again I stress.. is Transfer Factor.. I have it in another post somewhere. I have done all the herbs and suppliments you can imagine.. and altho many things are essential for Lyme like magnesium..calcium etc.. The Transfer Factor really knocked the echinacea and goldenseal out of the ballpark for me.. as far as the immune system, I havent found anything better than the Transfer Factor.. I buy Transfer Factor Plus...well.. because I need the "plus".. But they make all kinds.. check out 4Life Transfer factor on the net. If the lyme has weakened your heart, there is Transfer Factor Cardio.. all kinds...but all have the immune building property...

What`s the difference between these HLD Gene tests do they mean you are susceptible to Lyme disease. Are these tests available in the UK?
I have read the AgI tests for Lyme disease is not very reliable..

Hi Kerry,
Okay, maybe it is just the way our minds communicate (ha!) but I think you did a better job of explaining it than the article with the medical mumbo-jumbo.
Thank you though, the professionals want to see the article and understand the stuff that escapes me, atleast they pretend they understand it!
Also, interesting about the transfer factor~

Hi all
Spec, thats something I find with Kerry's explanations... She always manages to explain it in words we all understand..... A very good speaker.... There are a lot of you on the board inclucing you spec, who seem to be able to retain the information well (with me, its in one ear out the other)....
wishing you all well..........

whiskeymac, No..lots of people are positive for the HLA-DR4 gene.. its not rare. Its just that for some reason if you are positive for this gene.. and end up with Lyme Disease, its a bigger problem. Most people who are on meds for years and still not much better are positive for this gene.. What I am wondering... is if there is a connection between the gene itself and the Morgellons Disease. Because not everyone with Lyme has Morgellons. But so many with Morgellons are coming back positive for Lyme. Kerry

Kerry,
Do you think it is the protein in the gene?

I dont know skytroll. The more people who will get tested for this gene, the more information I will have. Maybe there is no connection at all. I have people in my support group, husbands and wives.. both have Lyme and yet only the husband has Morgellons.. they sleep in the same bed.. drink out of the same drinks.. So why does he have Morgellons and she doesnt? If I can figure out who is positive for this gene.. and who has Lyme only. and who has Lyme with Morgellons.. it could be a place to start?

morgelleons is late or chronic lyme/ ACA =unusual progresssive fibrosing skin process due to the effect of continueing active infection with borrelia/1883 by buchwald and 1902 by herxhiemer & hartman/
i think the H - 4 test and CD-57 test with a bowen test would be a very good group of tests--could throw inIgenix test to see how antibodies look against real genes-cells and antigens

ACA=acrodermatitis chonica atrophicans only form of LD with NO spontaneous remission--it is associated (?) with long term persistence of borellia organisisms in the skin (the largest organ of the body)
