Hi everyone,
I am new to the board. In September of last year, I started having a horrible head pressure. I also began having mass confusion, severe fatigue, memory loss, sensitivity to light, and general migrane that would not go away until I finally fell asleep at night. As soon as I woke up in the morning, it would be back. Making it through work was horribly tough. After about a month, it finally went away. I thought it might have been a sinus infection or severe allergies.
I ended up moving closer to my family. I found a new job and everything was going great. After about a month, this same feeling began to creep up on me again. This time I was convinced it was a bad sinus infection. I called our family doctor and began taking Zythromax for infection. This did not work, so I began taking the antibiotic Augementin for a more localized infection. This did not help at all. The headaches, confusion, dizziness, fatigue, all seemed to be getting worse. I had to quite my new job and move back home with my parents because I wasn't able to work.
After seeing 3 Doctors and one Chiropractor, I was reffered to another set of doctors for a Lyme Test. They used the Bowen test (which I am unsure of because most of the doctors I have been to don't even know how to read it). It came back positive (not severe; I was in the 50th percentile.) Could you please tell me what you think of this test? Their treatment was with homeopaths, hydrogen peroxide IV's and vitamins. After 3 or 4 treatments, I felt no different and the cost was outrageous. The confusing thing to these doctors is that I have no joint pain, just sever head pain (brain fog.)
I decided to see another doctor who wanted more bloodwork and another Lyme test done. This time the test was a normal test (maybe the IFA that tested for IgM. This test came back negative. I have had everything from an MRI to a CT scan and all kinds of bloodwork, but everything comes back fine. I am hurting really bad and no one can figure out what is going on. I have no income and am unsure of how I am going to pay for the treatment (is there any medical help available? I am 24 years old).
The most recent doctor is going to refer me to a neurologist. At this point I feel like I am losing my mind. I don't even know if I have Lyme Disease, but all of my symptoms point that direction. I am sorry to have written a novel, but I was hoping someone would have some advice. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you for listening.
