Was wondering if any of U saw "House" this past Tues.? The mystery disease that was killing a young girl was a tick. I was so glad to see this subject being brought up on a a show like this. It was causing symptoms I had not heard of though. Did anyone else see this? Always, ebgb

*ant raises his hand excitedly and say's Oh! Oh! Oh! I saw it ! I saw It*
Funny I dont normaly watch doctor shows but this time I was too lazy to get up and turn the channel
I thought it was good too that they are bringing the tick issue to prime time TV now if they can just do our issue
I think it would make a great blockbuster horror movie
I don't think Ive ever been so afraid in my life when I first realized that I couldn't get rid of the bugs and that I couldn't depend on any doctors for any help Getting shot in the chest with a 30-0-6 hunting rifle a close second as far as fear

I missed that one, EBGB but I do catch the reruns on USA Friday nights. I'll have to watch for when this one is airing on the rerun side (I think there is something else I watch on Tuesday that makes me miss the Fox show). I also am glad to see them concentrating on many diseases that our country doesn't even recognize as being here. When I first started watching, I would always get so mad at him during the show but by the end of it, I was his champion again. All you have to do is look into those deep blue eyes. Did you know he actually has an English accent? He's such a good actor, I can now see why he has won awards for his character. Anyone who hasn't caught this show, should. It sure hits close to home for our needs, and it's good! Hugs, Patti

Patti, I love the accent too, I heard it on an interview. He just cracks me up, really cares, but is still a hard ass in a very smart way. I have a (secret crush)! just a cool show, especially for a "doc" show. You all need to check it out, there have been other interesting topics w/ parasites and etc. Patti, please try to catch the rerun, U will be so glad U did!!!!!!!! The humor and important subject made it a gem

Thanks Glenda.. I havent been too well.. hoping its herx. Hope you are well also... seems we are waiting a lifetime to be well doesnt it? Its always good to "see" you here.. Yes... I would love to find a Dr House...he would fix us all up good as new for sure... I usually hate arogant men.. but for some reason I think Dr House is hot..lol.. Probably because I wish he was real thinking he could cure us all.. My husband tells me I am the female version of Dr House.. limping around popping vicodins and always have an opinion on everyones diagnosis...lol.. Problem is Im wrong more than right .. Kerry

Hi there - I'm a newbie to the board, but not to LD. I'm an avid fan of House - love it - never miss it. I, too, saw the episode to which you refer, yet I was left with a little bit of frustration at the conclusion because House removes the tick and then informs the parents that she'll then be just fine. HA! That's LUDICROUS! In real life, that girl's problems would just be starting - only all the subsequent docs she'd go to would be too stupid, too naive, too scared, or too d*mn stubborn to admit she has a CHRONIC tick borne illness. I intended on writing in to the show's message board - but it required more energy than I had at the time. I like the show House, not just because of Dr. House's unique personality, but because it gives a bit more of an accurate portrayal of how docs really are....it's like they just keep guessing at what the problem is until they finally narrow it down - or "dumb luck" leads them to the correct diagnosis. Only problem is that REAL docs give up after the first couple of guesses and send you packing! (Oh Gee -does it sound like I'm cynical?) Hugs & Kisses, DR. Wiseass -not a real doc - just a real wise ass www.twistoflyme.blogspot.com

Hello Doc Wiseass, I can really understand how U feel. I just came back from an apt. w/ my primary care doc. after a yr. of being treated for borreliosis and co-infection's. and still fighting he continues to refuse to give in an inch. He does not believe that borreliosis is in Mo. and IMO has never even researched and could probably care less. He did mention he has another pt. that is being treated by the same LLMD that I am. I can see this burns his bu!$. These doctor's in Mo. have no intention on looking into the fact that we do have it, it is a different strand then the borreliosis in New England, it it not the same as the Stari illness. It is unbelievable to me that this is so serious and yet it is taking so long to be recognized due to arrogance of the doctors who refuse to look out side of the box. Just unbelievable it is taking so long. I have no doubt that my LLMD is right on track, he is right and they just can not admit to it no matter how many lives it affects. Welcome to the board and hope you are doing well. Always, ebgb

House is a great show, and I would be more than happy to have the writers of the show treat me for this disease as they seem to know a whole lot more than the 12 million doctors I have seen.
