I finally made an appointment to see a MD and get tested for Lyme Disease. Hopefully, the doctor will do other tests too. In the Morgellons section of this message board, I think I recall two other people who have posted that they had Valley Fever before (Orion? and AKA Jess?) If you have Valley Fever - you MUST AVOID ANTIBIOTICS. reference: www.valleyfeversurvivor.com/excerpt from VF tips: " . . . If you need to take antibiotics for a bacterial infection, it may be dangerous to take these drugs for fear of activating or stimulating cocci to multiply. If you do need antibacterial antibiotics be sure to talk to your doctor about giving you antifungals in conjunction with it. . ." Antibiotics are used in treating Lyme disease. Some people with Morgellons symptoms have Lyme Disease too. I want to know if I've got Lyme Disease. I know I have Valley Fever for the rest of my life. And, I've been fighting those weird black club-shaped gel-hairs that some Morgellons people have too. If the test for Lyme disease shows I have Lyme disease . . . well, I feel like I'm screwed. I don't want to take antibiotics and get flare the Valley Fever back up. I've been focusing on what I eat and taking in extra vitamins and minerals while considering this situation. When it comes to Valley Fever, I've been disappointed in the Infectious Disease doctor's knowledge of the disease and, frankly, decided I'd be healthier the farther I stayed from her. It appears that more doctors are becoming Lyme Literate. However, what are the odds that I can find a doctor that is aware of both Valley Fever and Lyme? Well, I haven't tested for Lyme yet. It's just that so many neurological symptoms, and other symptoms on Lyme checklists match up. I hope the doctor I'll be seeing knows Valley Fever stuff too. QH

Hi QH ! so many of the herbals, olive leaf and artemesinin are anti- everything so if can't take anti-biotic script, maybe these multi-anti-s or even homeopathics will be beneficial. Reading on other threads, no more willy-nilly, yeah I do that too. Skip about. Oh well they see it as an ambush, or a game at the fair where you hold the hammer and wait for a toy gopher to pop it's head up so you can bop it before it dives back down. spec

Thank you Spec. The willy-nilly method of helping the immune system with vitamins and supplements is okay. But, I'm hoping a planned-out delivery would bring this stuff down faster.
Because I need to avoid antibiotics, I want to use natural methods where possible. However, I don't think just the healthy food I eat is enough, and need to give my body some help through vitamins and supplements in the best way possible.

QH, don't forget to make sure it's the correct Lyme test. Igenex or Bowen.

I was so hoping your dilution rate would have changed but we both know that doesn't necessarily mean you aren't still getting better, as evidenced by your symptom improvement. This is not an easy disease to shake and it will take time but we are all pulling for you. Keep up the good work and definitely keep the faith!
Hugs, Patti

I just started Biaxin yesterday for Lyme. (waited 6 months after diagnosis-oriental herb first). How do I rule out Valley Fever? Don't want to be taking antibiotics and find I shouldn't? Is there a test for Valley Fever? Are the symptoms dramatic so that one knows they have it?
Next question- What diet do Lyme people follow? For example, breakfast- Could I eat a pure yogurt with fruit and toast. I do have the spelt bread left over from the week of anti Candida diet I needed follow for African parasitologist protocol. However, this is quite strict and not easy to follow. How strict do Lyme eaters have to be? What if they go back to normal eating? What is the worst type food and why?
Is it the Candida we are trying to avoid? Is there a Lyme suggested diet? Is there a site that lists this diet? Thanks for comments- Hope it is not too far off strand topic. Betsy

Betsy:
I didn't mean to alarm anyone - because you have Lyme doesn't necessarily mean you have Valley Fever. I just was wondering if anyone else would mention Valley Fever since 3 of us had mentioned it.
As for the diet for Lyme, I hope someone will answer that. There are a lot of sources, tips, and such and perhaps someone will provide you a good link.
I have found the anti-candida diet (Lifestyle) to be healthy. It takes a while to get used to, but at this point, I really don't have the cravings for bread or cake, etc. that I had to fight for a while.
I definitely would avoid Candida - whether you are fighting a disease or not - your immune system is something that you want to help.
Wishing you ALL the best,
QH

Wow - California Jewel, that is a comprehensive list, from symptoms, to various herbs for specific symptoms, to example protocols. AND, links to resources. Thank you! lymelight and eec - I know the doctor will be doing Igenex, and some other tests. Not sure what the others are. For now, I have to wait over 2 months, unless an opening comes up . . . Betsy: www.twistoflyme.blogspot.com/ I love reading this Lyme fighter's writing - she is so funny, with a wicked edge . . . And, on the side margin are some good links too. QH
