Apparently, cat's claw should be TOA free in order to be effective treatment. Will the regular cat's claw not work? I heard that Samento is the one to use. Do you think this is important?

The doctor that recommended Samento to me felt it was important to be TOA free. He also specifically told me to use the liquid.
This was the first thing I took after being diagnosed with Lyme. It made my neuro symptoms go away, but did nothing for the arthritis and pain. I took it for about two months until I hit a plateau, but do think it did me some good.
Some have reported no improvement, so your mileage may vary.

Although I haven't been tested for Lyme, I plan on it in the near future. I thought I might take the cat's claw to see if it would help alleviate the symptoms that I'm having which may not even be related to Lyme. But I have heard it is good for a lot of conditions and since I have no diagnosis as of yet, I'm game to try it. I'm glad to hear that it at least helped with some of your symptoms! The more I read about Lyme, the more I realize how complex a disease it is. I have many of the symptoms, but the symptom list could relate to a lot of other things too. From your post and from other's, arthritis/pain must be some of the most common and dominant features. Thanks!

Hi Folks,
This is a relevant post from Sept. '05. Please be aware of the TOA controversy when you spend your money.
For the money, we like the RainTree brand of Cat's Claw. If you want TOA-free Cat's Claw, Samento liquid seems to work well. Susan's herbs has a good price:

Their is some controversy surrounding the value of TOA-free Cat's Claw, so you may want to read the following article:
