Hello everyone,
I have been ill for going on four months. My primary symptoms are dizziness, debilitating fatigue, muscle twitches, weird wiggly feelings, cognitive impairment and muscle weakness. I live in Maine.
My doctors tested me for everything under the sun except Lyme. I've had blood tests, a CAT scan and an MRI. For two terrible months I was convinced I had MS, but thankfully my MRI was normal. I was eventually dx with depression (even though that is not one of my symptoms) and prescribed an anti-depressant.
I decided to find a new, holistic doctor, and I found a really good one. He ordered a blood test from a lab in California (Idex? something like that) and has put me on tetracycline and a detox. diet. I've been on the medicine for three days.
My question for all of you is, how long before I might feel some relief of my symptoms? Is it normal to feel a bit worse before feeling better? If I feel no relief of symptoms within the next week, does that rule out Lyme?
I appreciate any answers you can give me. These have been the worst four months of my life, and even though I don't Want to have Lyme Disease, there will be some small comfort in understanding why I feel this way.
Thanks, Nic
