This came in a Yahoo group newsletter so I don't have a link to share, but probably a quick Google could get you any further info you may need. I am posting this not only for possible encouraging news regarding the allicin compound found in garlic, but also to bring attention to the names of doctors in Texas who conducted this study. I don't know if they even have private practices but it would be worth checking out for some of you Texans who cannot find physicians.

Allimax Nutraceuticals US, in conjunction with the Health Healing and Hope Foundation, has completed a Lyme disease clinical study being conducted in Texas by Dr.'s Joan Vandergriff ND, Hamid Moayad DO, William Keller Ph.D., and Hugo Rodier M.D.
The study was sponsored by Allimax Nutraceuticals US, Allicin International L.T.D. and Nature's Sunshine Products. The purpose of the study was intended to show eradication of the blood borne Borrelia Spirochete and the cystic form of the same (which cause Lyme disease) by treatment with Allisure® AC-23 stabilized allicin extract.
The Lyme disease study was completed December 31, 2006 but has not yet been published. According to the company, results indicate that after using Allisure® AC-23 stabilized allicin for 3 months, both in capsule and liquid forms, there was a significant eradication or reversal of the cystic form of spirochetes and Borrelia Burgdorferi.
The study will be published later this year, and currently, the company is completing screening of participants by dark field microscopy and will be sending their blood to Igenex labs for testing as well.

Initial study announcement back in October '06 (I have to wonder if these people will regress after going off this product? Hopefully the reason this study won't be published until the end of 2007 is so they can continue monitoring them for any changes):

Allimax Nutraceuticals US starts clinical trial for treating Lyme disease
2006-10-09 - Allimax Nutraceuticals US
Allimax Nutraceuticals US, in conjunction with the Health Healing and Hope Foundation, have started their Lyme disease double blind clinical study being conducted in Texas by Dr.'s Joan Vandergriff ND, Hamid Moayad DO, William Keller Ph.D., Hugo Rodier M.D. The study is being sponsored by Natures Sunshine Products and Allimax International L.T.D. The purpose of the study is to show eradication of the blood born Borrelia Spirochete causing Lyme disease.
Lyme disease can affect every organ in the human system and can decimate health. A few of the participants have been diagnosed with 3rd stage Lyme disease and failed to improve with pharmaceutical treatment, including antibiotics. Some pilot investigation was done using a rotation of drugs combined with natural therapies. Despite improvement, Lyme protocol dictates a rotation of allopathic/natural therapy. The goal is to show alternative therapies can make a difference in 3rd stage Lyme disease using a uniform natural therapy regimen.
The company has chosen patients who failed to respond or improve from conventional therapy. In the study the natural treatment Allimed® group will be compared to at least the same matching number of other patients of approximately the same age, sex, blood type and degree of illness who continue to receive conventional therapy without natural therapies (the control group).
