we need to make mexico a state in our union.
anderson cooper did a border report that sickened me. the people will put themselves through horrendous things to get out of mexico. i will not deny them a safe place.
we see non of this type of behavior from canadian people. many ran to canada to excape vietnam.

The whole immigration debate is just a misdirection ploy to make us think about something else OTHER than all these Republicans being indicted, investigated, robbing the country blind, and/or asked to deliver testimony in purgory cases.
"Hey, look over there! We're being invaded by Mexicans! Forget the war! Forget the indictments and corruption!"
Meanwhile, the Iraq war (entered into falsely)is going badly. We are now threatening to invade Iran. We're being told that bird flu will kill millions of us. Our middle class, white collar jobs are being outsourced to India. And gasoline is $3 friggin' bucks per gallon. Immigration is about the lowest issue on my political agenda. Hardworking hispanics don't factor into the "What's wrong with my country?" equation. Rich, fat, white corporate c*cksuckers are what factor into that equation, excuse my French!

slinker, amen and amen,
yes indeed a diversion tactic. the idea is to take troops to secure the border, use mass $ to build a fence.....................
to keep out hurting people who tunnel like moles to get out of their own country.
we took most of their land. i say make them a state in our union and give the rebels mercenary jobs. clean up mexico. in this bountiful world, people starve to death everyday.
what a mess this world is in!
GOD HELP US ALL

Slinker you must be joking if you don't think "hardworking hispanics don't figure into the equasion." You mention money grubbing republicans, you're right (you didn't say money grubbing I did, same meaning) they are outsourcing jobs around the world to save money and importing illegal help at slave wages to take the jobs that are left.
Do you honestly think that the grass didn't get cut, homes didn't get built, water meters didn't get read, groceries didn't get sold, walmart couldn't sell products without illegals??? These jobs were once held by Americans who needed them, small american businesses and contractors are now struggling to feed their families in a lot of cases. It is a factor and I can't imagine anyone who could possibly think otherwise. Their "contribution" to our economy is costing us a fortune in goods, benefits, hospitals and services. Plus the crime rate has grown and grown. We don't have any idea of who is coming into our country and what their plans are, this is just insanity. Plus they marched in our streets carrying Mexican flags and had mapped out the western half of the US saying they were going to "take it back." Why don't they go home and march in the streets and make Fox change the way things are done there so they will have a good economy at home?
On our street a hispanic safe house moved into the neighborhood, this is a lovely middle class neighborhood, soon they, dozens of young hispanic males began leaving beer bottles in the yards, trash was literally piled up 6 to 8 feet ( I kid you not) in front of their house and put out the day before trash day and left there. In addition they defecated in the parking lot and the yards. My son was robbed at knifepoint by one at an ATM, so was his girlfriend. Sorry, I don't buy your theory.

Hmmm. I had someone helping out with yardwork and such and I used to pick him up from his home and drive him back too. We'd chat on the drive.
One day he said that California is going to go back to Mexico because it actually belonged to them. I was surprised because I thought that had a militant tone behind it. I don't think he was a legal US citizen, nor cared to be. It was the first I'd heard such a thing - now I read it here, so I guess it isn't a new idea. I guess what surprised me was how comfortable he was with the idea and how sure he was of himself.
(Now, I have an US citizen help me out around here.)
