As we are fast approaching the first anniversary of Dans announcement that the CDC would investigate Morgellons I thought it might be a good time for us to consider reminding Dan and the CDC that we are still waiting.
Here is a draft letter to Dan people might like to use for ideas.
Hello Mr Rutz,
I am writing to request an update on the CDC's research efforts in relation to the medical condition; Morgellons Disease.
This request pertains to your public statements circa June 2006 of the CDC's intention to form a 'multi-disciplinary task force' to investigate the Morgellons situation. Since that time I have regularly searched the CDC's website for any reference to this investigative group but so far, to no avail.
Could you please advise me if the CDC is in fact investigating Morgellons Disease?
If this is the case would you further advise me as to the current status of that investigation? I would be interested to know if any papers pertaining to the workings of this investigative group such as meeting minutes, letters, memos, emails, pathology results, research papers - drafted or complete are yet in the public domain. If so how might they be referenced. Would such items need to be requested through Freedom of Information protocols?
Any help you could provide in answering these questions would be appreciated by many.

good idea.. thoh i think terming it a medical condition, and labelling it Morgellons Disease, shouldn't be part of the letter. This is because it would very easily cause any response to focus on that and"correct" you, stating that it is not an "accepted" .. "disease" (yet) .. and that it isn't "accepted" as a medical condition" ...(again.. yet) .. and sway the direction of the letter's response further into it.

Gezunked,
That's an excellent idea, and an excellent letter.
I know that the "word" Morgellons tends to be taboo, and I'll throw my opinion in too, as I can sure understand why saying that word or not saying it seems to be an issue.
"JUST MY THOUGHTS"...CDC is aware of the word Morgellons, (they even have a hot line number for it) it's only the 'doctors' who've connected the DOP label to it.
I know when I address anyone other than CDC, I say it as the "infection/contamination" deemed Morgellons, because the association is there in that we're basically experiencing the same thing.
In fact I've been writing similar letters to the news again, saying that CDC had stated last year they were putting a team of researchers together, and to date no one's yet heard a word, and we're still suffering, and the "infection/contamination" is still spreading - because I want the news shaken up enough to know NOTHING has been done, and I ask too, is this that serious that they still haven't any answers?

nono.. USE the word Morgellons.. just not .. "morgellon's disease" .. disease meaning something medically established in the medical community.
morgellon's syndrome?... don't know what else to use..
